Saturday's Spike Scream Awards were held to honor horror and fantasy films, but fashion was still one of the main attractions. The many female stars in attendance showed off a range of looks, from sexy in red to sweet in Chanel. Stars Scare Themselves Silly at the Scream Awards

Los Angeles played host to the Spike TV Scream Awards last night, attracting a cavalcade of stars from those movies and TV shows that deal with all things supernatural. Taylor Lautner attended to pick up the Breakthrough Performance award for his role as Jacob Black, while unfortunately his costar Robert Pattinson couldn't attend to pick up the Best Fantasy Actor award. Megan Fox picked up the Best Sci-Fi Actress award, while True Blood's Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin - who are a couple on and off screen - won Best Horror Actor and Actress awards respectively. Other presenters and guests at the awards included Johnny Depp, Kate Bosworth, Harrison Ford, Eliza Dushku and Justin Long. It looks like a fun night!

Taylor, Johnny, Megan & Vampires Make Scream Awards Sexy

The Spike Scream Awards took over the Greek Theater in LA on Saturday night, bringing together the biggest names in Horror, Fantasy, Comics and Science Fiction. Vampires were of course some of the biggest winners of the night and the stars of The Vampire Diaries and True Blood were all in attendance. Kate Bosworth presented a statue to Alexander Skarsgard, amid rumors that there's something going on between them. Taylor Lautner was the only Twilight representative and debuted the "Behind the Scenes" New Moon footage, which wasn't much though more may come when the show actually airs. There were rumors that Kristen Stewart would make a cameo since she was back in LA, but fans were still satisfied to see sexy Taylor representing and all the shirtless Wolf Pack in the footage from the upcoming film. Johnny Depp accepted a spike for the incomplete Alice in Wonderland as well as presented an award of immortality to Keith Richards. Megan Fox expressed her gratitude to the Transformers franchise while Stephen Moyer had one of the sweetest moments of the night when he thanked the True Blood producers for being "surprising matchmakers."

On the red carpet, one of the night's winners Isabel Lucas chatted about spending last Halloween with Shia LaBeouf, though she admitted that the holiday isn't huge in her native Australia. She looked great in her Chanel dress and Jimmy Choo shoes even without getting a drop of sleep the night before. Eliza Dushku was sexy posing for the cameras and presenting with Dave Navarro - garnering cheers from her fans the whole time. Justin Long was out to support one of the night's big winners Drag Me to Hell and was friendly as he made his way into the awards. Anna Paquin Shares Her Healthy Habits

With her fresh face and healthy physique, True Blood star Anna Paquin has made a graceful transition from child star to sexy vamp. In this week's issue of Us, the recently engaged, 27-year-old actress talks about the healthy habits that keep her feeling and looking great.

Paquin understands the importance of mixing up her fitness routine. "I'm obsessed with Pilates," says the star. But she also loves swimming in the ocean and recently took her first surf lesson.
A big fan of watching gymnastics on TV, Paquin once dabbled in trapeze arts: "I've always wanted to be a circus performer, so I took aerial silks classes at Trapeze School New York a few years ago."
Since staying healthy isn't just about exercising, Paquin gets plenty of rest and avoids unhealthy habits. She says she takes a lot of naps and that "Kombucha and coffee are my two biggest vices."

5 Reasons Vampires Are the New Bad Boys

Vampires have long been a staple of romantic literature and movies, but with Twilight and True Blood, we're in the middle of a vampire sexual revolution.

In the latest issue of Nylon, True Blood star Stephen Moyer offers his theory as to why women are so drawn to vampires as sex symbols:

"The thing about vampirism is that it taps into a female point of view - you have an old-fashioned gentleman with manners who is a f*cking killer . . . it’s an interesting duality, because in our present society it would be an odd thing for a woman to say, 'I want my man to be physical with me.' . . . It’s difficult stuff for a bloke, but a vampire gets away with it."

Yikes! Vampires as sexual-domination fantasy? I hope that's not what the teenage Twihards are after. But it's hard to ignore the fact that for many modern young women, vampires are the new bad boys. Here are five good reasons why.

Anna, Stephen, and Stars of the Small Screen Party For Nylon

Starlets were out in force last night to celebrate Nylon's special TV issue. 90210's AnnaLynne McCord and Shenae Grimes posed on the carpet, as did Melrose Place's Jenna Dewan. Anna Paquin is the magazine's cover girl, and she was the center of attention as she chatted with her fiance and True Blood costar Stephen Moyer. While his next project is the vampire movie Priest with Cam Gigandet, Stephen and Anna gave an interview appearing in the upcoming issue about their HBO show and their views on nudity and sex. Here's more:

Anna on her nude True Blood scenes: "I don’t think a naked body is particularly shocking or interesting. . . . It’s not the culture I was raised in. I was not brought up in the United States. I don’t share the [attitude] that you can have graphic violence, but - God forbid - you see someone’s nipples."
Anna on going blonde for her role: "I don’t look like a Barbie doll, and probably never will. People are incredibly literal in how they view you. You have dark hair and pale skin? You must be brooding. The second you dye your hair blonde and get a spray tan, people treat you as if you’re a bit stupider and happier. Suddenly, it’s like you’re hot and sexy."

Anna Paquin Takes Her Pups For a Stroll

When she's not frolicking around with dolphins and seals, Anna Paquin knows that a good walk is essential to a dog's health. The True Blood star was spotted yesterday taking a stroll through the streets of Santa Monica with her two best furry friends. Although I can see that one of her four-legged pals is a Border Collie, I'm having quite the time trying to place the breed of the brown companion. Besides keeping the dogs in good shape with long walks, Anna practices good owner behavior by keeping poop bags handy with a black Bon Ton dispenser.

Keeping up with her dogs isn't the only thing going on in Anna's life - she just recently announced her engagement to fellow animal lover and costar Stephen Moyer, who comes with a family of his own. But if either of them need any advice on how to introduce new family members into the mix, they know where to come!

True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Play at SeaWorld

Straight off their appearance at this year's Comic-Con, True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer headed over to the San Diego Zoo to splish-splash around with the animals. The pair cuddled with the (drama-free) resident 2-month-old Magellanic penguin before diving into the dolphin tank for a wet-nosed photo op - how well do you know the sea-dwelling creatures?

Alan Ball Says Season Two of True Blood Is "Sexier and Gorier"

The second season of HBO's True Blood kicks off tonight and doesn't waste any time jumping into the scary murder madness that has engulfed the citizens of Bon Temps.

According to the show's creator, Alan Ball, everything intensifies this season: vampires are more monstrous, sex scenes are even sexier, shape-shifters become more, er, shape-shiftery, and the anti-vampire movement becomes even more zealous.

Here are more highlights from the conference call Ball recently held with reporters:

Talking about the serial killer: "The first season we, the audience, did not know who the serial killer was. In this season, as the show progresses, we know there is a character who is up to no good and is dangerous long before any of the other characters on the show know it."
Describing the anti-vampire cult and whether or not it's a metaphor for our current political climate: "That whole conflict becomes deadly serious. Given the nature of the political debate in this country, I think it's very easy to look at it in a satirical light. I've been clear from the beginning: they really believe they have a mission to save the world."

On Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer's real-life relationship: "They are such consummate professionals, both of them, that it doesn't affect filming whatsoever. It only affects filming in the sense that they're incredibly comfortable with each other and their chemistry translates to the screen."
Talking about the changes Ryan Kwanten's character, Jason Stackhouse, will go through in season two: "In the books, Jason is very much the hot guy in town who is the womanizer. Once we started to flesh him out, no pun intended, we saw that he is sexually compulsive. Ultimately, Jason is a scared little boy that has been abandoned by everyone he has ever loved. In the second season, he is very much aware of the deep hole in his soul and he’s looking to fill that. As many people do, he latches onto religion and becomes part of an organization that makes him feel special. But of course, as time goes on . . . let’s just say Jason can’t leave his clothes on too long."

On making Alexander Skarsgård's character Eric, even scarier, and not shying away from the sexiness of the show: "This season, I did not feel like we needed to up the ante just to up the ante. I did feel like it was important to make Eric more frightening and see more of his monstrous side because as we progress we see more of his more human side. There is a scene where Sookie and Bill make love in the first episode that basically on the page it said 'Sookie and Bill make love.' Then I saw the dailies cut together . . . and I was like ‘Oh, wow! OK.’ I love it and I think that’s part of the appeal of the show. I don't think we do anything gratuitously. But it's important to show that between Sookie and Bill, there is this incredible, erotic chemistry."
On who Ball thinks is the most evil character: "I would hesitate to say Maryann is the most evil but she revels in chaos and destruction. She doesn't look at it from the polarities of good and evil."
Describing Evan Rachel Wood's character: "She is going to be playing the vampire queen of Louisiana. Each state has a king or queen and the buck stops there in terms of the [vampire] politics. Evan's really beautiful and very, very pale. And she looks like a vampire to me!"
On feeling any pressure to win awards or live up to the show's hype in season two: "I don't really think about those things. I feel like that is a real trap. I just feel like I try to do the best I can do. I don't feel more pressure, I really work very hard to stay in a little bubble in that regard because otherwise you go crazy."

Where Are the Best Roles for Actresses: TV or Movies?

Considering that television holds second-rate status to film in a lot of people's minds, it's amazing to think of all of the stellar silver screen actresses who are currently working on TV. In a recent panel organized by The Hollywood Reporter, a whole bunch of them - including Sigourney Weaver, Regina King, January Jones, Anna Paquin, Rose Byrne, and Mary McDonnell - talked about the great roles available for women on the small screen right now.

That got me wondering if TV is providing actresses with better opportunities than film. But then there are actresses like Kate Winslet, who prove that meaty, interesting movie roles for women are still out there.
