Here at the Sugar offices, we recently got to talking about what movies we could watch with our moms for Mother's Day, which inevitably led to a discussion about which movies not to watch with our moms. Someone warned against Because I Said So, which seems like an easy-breezy fun chick flick, but features an uncomfortable scene in which Mandy Moore's character explains to her mother (Diane Keaton) exactly what an orgasm is like.
Another suggestion was The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which Molly made the mistake of sitting down to watch with her future in-laws at their home on Christmas Eve.

Disney just picked up a romantic comedy called Undateable, which tells the "real-life tale of romantic loser Brian Wolf, who launched a Web site (www.settleforbrian.com) as a last-ditch attempt at landing a girlfriend." On his site, Wolf (pictured) lists the pros and cons about himself, along with this practical reasoning:

I can't wait to see Humpday, director Lynn Shelton's new film about old college friends who decide to enter an amateur porn filmmaking contest and to have sex with one another on film. Did I mention they're straight men? Shelton has said that the film is about how straight men can turn anything into a competition — even if it means having to do each other.

Something's a-brewin' in the world of masculinity. It's called the "bromance," and it's an attempt by straight men to be friends without being all gay about it. Unfortunately, it's kind of homophobic, and it's spawned an insulting credo, "Bros before hos," which pits girlfriends as the bromance's public enemy number one.

Oscar, smocker. Yeah it's nice that everyone dresses up and takes voting very seriously for the industry's sake, but let's face it, the MTV movie awards are so much more entertaining. There is never a dull moment.
