Russell's Getting In Shape For His LA Audience

Check it out! It looks like Russell Brand is on a fitness mission ahead of his presenting gig at the MTV Video Music Awards in LA in September. With all those buff men and stunning ladies in the audience (no doubt including his girlfriend, Teresa Palmer) then Russell doesn't want to let us Brits down! I have to say I think I prefer his 'workout' look, he's looking pretty good! As well as his weight, we know he's also going to have to watch his language – he had this to say about his upcoming gig:

“I've been warned when I'm presenting there are two things I am never allowed to say. One - c***. And two - Scientology. There is one sentence that could join both of those words but I'm going to try and not say it.”

Better start minding his Ps and Qs now then, and hopefully he'll be ready... I don't doubt there will be some controversy baiting from Russell on the day though!

Sorry Iron Man, Your Son Prefers Batman

Robert Downey Jr obviously didn't impress son Indio by playing Iron Man on the big screen, as Indio seems to be all about fellow superhero Batman – at least according to his belt and t-shirt! Hollywood's impressed by Robert though, as he's now getting his very own star on the Walk Of Fame – and well deserved too, if only for the amazingly funny skit with his Tropic Thunder co-stars Ben Stiller and Jack Black at this year's MTV Movie Awards (definitely check it out after the jump). I love Robert Downey Jr and I have to say I'm stoked that he's back on the A list!

Beauty Mark Results: MTV Movie Awards Makeover

The MTV Movie Awards aired on Sunday, and even though the whole thing was one big Summer movie trailer, there were some enjoyable moments (hello Wayne's World). As expected, though, the most exciting part for me was watching the starlets walk the red carpet and debating their beauty choices.

Last week, I asked you all to imagine what makeup you would wear to the awards show. Reader Chiquita25 and her suggestion of Chanel Aqualumiére Gloss, was right on the money. I say this because it looks like the exact product that Lauren Conrad applied to her pout. And who's more MTV than Miss Conrad? Brava.

How Did You Like Mike Myers' MTV Movie Awards Hosting?

More than a decade after his first turn presiding over the golden popcorn, Mike Myers took his second turn as host of the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. Much like the last time, in 1997, he delivered a dance number (a dance-off between himself and Chris Brown, vs. 1997's Lord of the Dance parody), and he and Dana Carvey also resurrected their Wayne's World characters. Now that the winners have been chosen and we're rehashing our favorite moments, I'm wondering: Did Myers make you laugh out loud - or was his hosting just a big groan?

How-To: Anne Hathaway's MTV Movie Awards Makeup

Of all the stars at the MTV Movie Awards, Anne Hathaway won the most love in the love it or hate it polls. I like how this look is sophisticated and warm - and just perfect for a warm-weather date. Surprisingly, it's not that hard to re-create the look at home. For full instructions, read more.

FACE: Anne's skin looks even thanks to a medium-coverage foundation. I like Elizabeth Arden Intervene makeup ($36) because it goes on smoothly, covers imperfections, and looks natural. After applying the foundation with a brush, cover any undereye circles with a creamy concealer. Bring a little color to your cheeks by applying a soft, shimmer-free rose blush such as Lancôme Blush Subtil ($29.50) in Cedar Rose. If you would like to set your makeup with a translucent powder, feel free.

EYES: Use a brush to fill in any sparse spaces in your eyebrows with powder, but don't make it too perfect. For the eye shadow, you'll need a shimmery light champagne shadow and a medium brown shadow. (Since Anne is a Lancôme spokesperson, I'm going to guess that she's wearing two shades from the Cabana Sunset palette.)

Cover your eyelid from lash line to crease with the lighter shadow, but don't pull it up to the brow bone. Use a thin brush to apply the same shade just underneath the lower-lash line. Then, sweep the darker eye shadow along the crease of your eyelid and blend well. Using a sharp dark brown eyeliner pencil, line your upper and lower lash lines, going into the lash line. Curl your top eyelashes (here's how) and cover them with two coats. Swipe a coat on the bottom lashes as well.

LIPS: Moist, full lips are key. If you have any flakiness, exfoliate by putting warm water on a washcloth and gently rubbing your lips. Then, apply a sheer pink lipstick such as Lancôme Le Rouge Absolue in Pink Diamond.

Trend Alert: Absentee Eye Shadow at the MTV Movie Awards

The beauty looks at the MTV Movie Awards last night were all similar. We saw lots of black-lined eyes, nude lips, and subdued cheeks. It's a very pretty look, but nothing that got my heart pounding. Something I did notice was the lack of eye shadow on the red carpet on Megan Fox, Ellen Page, and Liv Tyler.

Lauren Conrad was almost added to this list, but I took out my magnifying glass and spied a hint of taupe crease shadow and a little shimmer below the brow bone. What are your thoughts on eye shadow for dressy events? Do you wear a little, a lot or, skip it altogether?

How-To: Liv Tyler's MTV Movie Awards Hairstyle

Liv Tyler looked gorgeous last night on the red carpet. Her skin was pale, yet slightly dewy and radiant. Her makeup was minimal, and her hair looked relaxed in loose, effortless sexy, beachy waves.

I love a girl who can look comfortable at a big-time Hollywood event, don't you? If any of you are interested in re-creating this hairstyle at home, all you'll need is a product that provides slight hold, a hair dryer, a curling iron, and a wide-toothed comb.

For step-by-step directions, read more.

STEP 1: After you wash and condition your hair, gently towel dry and get rid of snarls and tangles by using a wide-toothed comb. Either get dressed or apply your makeup so that you hair has time to air-dry a little bit.
STEP 2: Apply a texturizing styling product such as Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray to your damp hair from roots to ends. Tip: Keep in mind that if your hair is slightly curly or thick, you'll want to apply product while your hair is still very wet, fresh from the shower. Also, if your hair is oily, only apply product to the lengths and ends, avoiding your roots.
STEP 3: Once you've applied the product, it's time to dry your hair. Set your hairdryer to the coolest, lowest setting and tousle hair until it's dry.
STEP 4: Since this is a sleeker version of the typical wavy, (slightly frizzy) beach hair, you'll want to add shine and refine the waves. Take a curling iron and use it like a flat-iron on the roots of your hair to make it smoother. As you get a third of the way down, curl hair around the barrel and let it sit for about 10 seconds. When you are finished with your entire head, shake out the curls, finger a few back into place and mist your entire head with a light-hold hairspray.

2008 MTV Movie Awards Trend Alert: I've Been a Bad, Bad Girl

There were the goodie two shoes of the MTV Movie Awards and then there were the bad girls. Or well, wannabe bad girls. Guess which group can kick the asses of the other? You guessed right. There were a handful of bad girls dressed to kick in black, stilettos, and attitudes, but my favorites, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Charlize Theron, were the leaders of the pack. From Anne's black liquid Sophia Kokosalaki dress to SJP's white witch-inspired boots, to Charlize's sexy superhero getup, these ladies made it clear to not mess with them. Bad girl power!

Golden Popcorns Are Passed Out

Last night we remembered some of our favorite movies from 2007 (yes, they seem like forever ago) but of course the actors reminded us of all their upcoming films - or in Robert Downey Jr's case, his current hit Iron Man. The movie won the award for Best Summer Movie So Far. It's hilarious that that's even a category. Ellen Page continues to remain humble after winning yet again for Juno while Megan Fox was the opposite for winning best movie, Transformers. She closed the show cursing to the crowd to get us psyched up for her movie's sequel but we cared more about trying to figure out why Shia wasn't there.
