Around this time of year, my calendar starts to fill up with weddings, which also means I've been hearing all about the proposals for a while now. Inevitably this leads me to think about cute movie proposals, like the one in Bride Wars when Anne Hathaway's character finds a ring in a fortune cookie. It's not a good movie, but that part is sweet.

I knew it was going to be hard to top the koi pond incident (and those Halloween costumes), but I was glad to see this week's The Office return to the storyline with new paramours Michael and Helene. This week's CW drama block may have its share of cool guest stars like N.E.R.D. and Samantha Ronson, but, on the whole, it's a total mess. The reviews for Amelia have been kind of dismal, including my own, quieting the Oscar buzz that had surrounded it before it was released. It's not a strange situation for a biopic to be in — many movies about people's lives are so ambitious that sometimes they end up boring and overlong.
The award-baiting flicks can also be very entertaining — Walk the Line and Amadeus number among my favorites because they're enjoyable and compelling.

Just when Kanye West was defending "Single Ladies" as one of the best songs of all time, Glee swoops in with an entire episode dedicated to the tune. We've seen a ton of spoofs of the famous music video — Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg on Saturday Night Live, Joe Jonas — but I've gotta say that I think Kurt's version may be my favorite rendition so far.
This week was Kurt's magnum opus.
