One of the most well-known love stories of all time is, of course, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. There's young lust and passion, devotion and romantic tragedy, all rolled up in one long, dramatic tale. Would you say it's the greatest love story ever told?

Countless love stories have come about over the years since Shakespeare's time - in books, songs, poems, plays, TV shows and movies - and many have had just as much passion and truthfulness as Romeo and Juliet. Which is the greatest of them all, to you personally? Rhett and Scarlett? Edward and Bella? The little ditty about Jack and Diane, perhaps?

Garry Marshall Is That Into Valentine's Day

Remember Garry Marshall? Director of some beloved flicks like Pretty Woman and Beaches (and some others like Runaway Bride and Raising Helen)? Regardless of the fact that his last directorial project was that Lindsay Lohan thing, Georgia Rule, he's still one of the bigger directors in this genre. So why is he doing a movie that sounds a lot like He's Just Not That Into You?

Titled Valentine's Day, the movie is "a comedy about 10 people in Los Angeles whose lives intersect on the romantic holiday." He's Just Not That Into You follows a bunch of people in Baltimore whose romantic lives overlap. The script for Valentine's Day was even rewritten by the same people who wrote the script for HJNTIY.

Anyway. I hope Marshall can make this project fun. Surely we'll hear all about the casting for this as each of the 10 roles are filled. The multiple storylines thing can be entertaining, but sometimes it's hard to care much about any of them if there are too many. Do you like movies like this that include many intersecting stories, or would you rather concentrate on one or two characters in a film?

Have You Ever Received an Entertainment-Inspired Romantic Gesture?

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and over the weekend I chatted with some of my friends who aren't too excited to do the same old, same old thing of cards and candy. So we started thinking up other romantic gestures - quirkier, cuter things that a sweetie might not expect. And of course, this turned into a discussion of romantic gestures taken from - or inspired by - movies and TV.

For example, I know a woman who had her guy stand outside her apartment with the trench coat and the boom box raised over his head, a la Lloyd Dobler (does that cross over into creepy? Discuss.). A guy friend of mine said he wishes he had the courage to play a song on his guitar in front of a plane full of strangers, like Robbie (Adam Sandler) in The Wedding Singer. There was also some discussion of how awesome it might be to receive 1,000 daisies, like Lorelei does on Gilmore Girls, or dozen after dozen of those lovely lavender roses that Lewis (Christian Slater) sends to Lisa (Mary Stuart Masterson) in Bed of Roses. And, of course, my boyfriend had to joke that for Valentine's Day he'll put on a suit, get me one rose and ask if I'll accept it (OK, I get it, that is what I get for putting him through countless hours of The Bachelor).

Valentine's Day Playlist: I Think I'm Falling in Love

During the run-up to Valentine's Day, I've been posting playlists that might capture your outlook on love this year. I've already tackled the single and empowered playlist, as well as the list for those of you who may be feeling a little bitter towards love. Now that the big day is here, I figured we should celebrate the exciting feelings that come along with new love.

"New love" could mean lots of things. The most obvious variation is falling in love with someone you've been seeing for awhile. Then there's that person you get your coffee from everyday because you're secretly a little obsessed with them. Or maybe it's slightly inappropriate, like your insanely good-looking and insightful professor with whom you'd enjoy spending V-Day in another life, perhaps.

None of these have necessarily been me of course, I'm just saying.

For those of you who have recently fallen hard or are working up the nerve to talk to someone you've eyed from afar, I present a playlist that helps you indulge these feelings.
