JT Helps Slimey Awards Clean Up in the Ratings

Can you believe Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards have been around for 20 years? What's more, this year's ceremony, held Saturday night in Los Angeles, earned the highest ratings in KCA history, Reuters reports.

According to the Nielsen numbers, the program averaged more than 6.1 million viewers, a 3 percent increase over last year. But the increase in voting was even crazier: A total of 40.8 million votes were cast this year - via the Internet, mobile phones, and other methods - which is a whopping 54 percent more than in 2006.

I'm sure Nick owes a lot of this unprecedented enthusiasm to Justin Timberlake, who was an incredibly charismatic host, willing both to show off his talent and poke fun at himself. (He was forced to give up his Best Burp title.)

Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish Couple Up For a Calvin Klein Event

Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish held hands and posed for photos at a party hosted by Calvin Klein in Seoul last night. Kate mingled with Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa and chatted with fellow actress Chloe Moretz when she wasn't sharing kisses with her date. South Korea is the latest loved-up stop for Kate and Michael. The pair visited NYC earlier this month for the Met Gala, where Kate modeled a fringed Prada minidress.

Fresh off an extensive press tour for Dark Shadows, Chloe Moretz also made the trek to Asia for the fashionable party. Chloe's currently on a break from film, but she's gearing up to start production on a remake of Steven King's Carrie. Fans of the original have voiced concerns over a Carrie reboot, though with Julianne Moore signed on to play Carrie's mother, it's shaping up to be a talented cast.

Brad Pitt Tells a Cannes Crowd That He and Angelina Have No Wedding Date Yet

Brad Pitt began his tour of Cannes this morning on behalf of his new movie, Killing Them Softly. He rose early for a photocall with director Andrew Dominik, producer Dede Gardner, and costars Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, and Ray Liotta. The gang was together as well for an afternoon press conference. In addition to chatting about the film, Brad spoke about his personal life. He said that fiancée Angelina Jolie unfortunately will not be with him on the red carpet tonight, and that they have yet to even set a wedding date. They may, though, work on a movie together soon. Here are highlights from Brad's talk:

On making another movie with Angelina: "We'd love to."
On why Angelina isn't at Cannes: "She's not here now. She's prepping for a movie that she starts very soon."
On having set a date for the wedding: "We actually really, truly have no date."
On if, as a dad, he had a hard time playing a violent character: "Not at all. Violence is an accepted part of the gangster world. I'd have a harder time playing a racist than some guy who shoots another guy in the face."

Jennifer Lopez Shows Some Skin in a Bikini For Vogue's June Issue

Jennifer Lopez wore a bikini for a Vogue photo shoot in their June issue. She models bikinis and swimwear with some strategic cutouts in the sultry spread, shot by Mario Testino. The pictures come hot on the heels of Jennifer's April cover for the magazine, but athletes including Serena Williams grace the latest cover in anticipation of the upcoming 2012 Olympics. This Summer will be a busy one for Jennifer, as well. Her film What to Expect When You're Expecting hits theaters this weekend, and next month, she takes off on the first leg of her world tour. She'll kick things off with a series of dates in South America before heading to the US. Despite her hectic schedule, Jennifer recently took time out to meet with our newest I'm a Huge Fan winner, Margaret. Charlize Theron Breaks From SWATH to Talk Motherhood and Dating in InStyle

Charlize Theron got glamorous for the cover of InStyle's June issue, which hits newsstands this Friday. She's currently in the middle of a whirlwind press tour for Snow White and the Huntsman and hit the red carpet for the film's London premiere yesterday. Charlize told us she's excited to share the movie with fans though in the magazine she touched more on her personal life including dating and her newly adopted son Jackson. Here's more from Charlize Theron in InStyle:

On getting older: "I see my face and my body changing, and they’re all changes I’m OK with. Part of me understands I may not be in front of the camera forever, and maybe not just because of age, but because of me. I wouldn’t have started my own production company if I didn’t feel that way."
On adopting son Jackson: "Motherhood was something I always knew I wanted to experience. What a great opportunity for someone like me who wants to have a family. I can only hope to be 10 percent of the mom mine was to me. She encouraged me to be confident and enjoy life. That’s what I want for my son. So far I’m not surprised by anything about being a mom. It’s all pretty great-but that’s what I expected."
On dating: "I’m always open to a relationship, but I’m not putting those feelers out there now. I’m not unhappy with it, but I’m not like, 'Oh, this is so much better than when I was in a relationship.' I am a relationship girl. That’s kind of just how I’m made."

This question, posed by The New York Times, got us thinking. According to the piece, nearly one in three leisure travel agencies is hiring, and in 2011 travel agencies experienced a second consecutive year of growth; in fact, their bookings accounted for a third of the $284 billion US travel market.

Silly us, we thought travel agents had become passé.

But if the travel agent business is thriving, we started wondering - is there something to this? Could using an old-school travel agent actually save us money on travel?

To find out, we consulted Barbara Vong, a travel agent with Wright Travel Agency, the 2011 winner of the Best of the Best Globe Award from Travel Impressions.

The first thing we learned? Travel agents usually don't charge customers for their services! Their payment actually comes through the hotels and wholesalers, meaning that we can simply tap into a free service. That also means using a travel agent should never be more expensive than booking by yourself online . . . and these are experts well-versed in where to find the best deals.

Of course, booking your flights in 30 seconds with a few clicks sounds a lot easier than playing phone tag with a live person, so it pays to know when a travel agent can help the most, and when you might as well DIY it. Vong let us in on the best times to call an agent, and some money-saving travel tips she's picked up in her line of work:

You're Traveling With a Group

For group bookings that involve coordinating travel for multiple people, it's always easier to use a travel agent, says Vong. “I just had a bride call me because one of the groomsmen booked his own trip through a discount travel site, and he wanted to add someone to the room,” says Vong. "The customer service representative from the travel site he used told him they couldn't do it, but they were probably just being lazy. This is a great example of when you’d rather hand the responsibility of changing that booking to a travel agent, rather than trying to fix it on your own."

Gwen Stefani joined her bandmate Tony Kanal at LA's Hollywood Bowl on Friday night to catch a show by Coldplay. Gwen and Tony enjoyed the show alongside other stars like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Jared Leto, Zoe Saldana, and Ryan Phillippe. Gwen, Tony, and the rest of No Doubt announced their upcoming album, still untitled, will be released on September 25. If rumors are true and Gwen decides to join the X Factor, September could be a crazy month for the mom-of-two since the reality show is also expected to return at the end of September.

Yesterday, however, Gwen took a break from her work duties and spent the day with her favorite guys, Zuma and Kingston Rossdale. Her husband Gavin Rossdale skipped out since he's currently on the road with his band Bush. Gavin's tour continues through the end of June with upcoming dates scheduled in Canada, Minnesota, and Kentucky.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin Have a Date Night With Cameron Diaz!

Cameron Diaz rocked a white blazer to a business meeting in LA yesterday and later wore the same ensemble to meet up with best pal Gwyneth Paltrow for dinner. Gwyneth's husband, Chris Martin, was even along for the meal! Cameron spoke about her close bond with Gwyneth in the June 2012 issue of Harper's Bazaar UK. Cameron said of Gwyneth, "We became very close after my dad's death. She reached out and it was very sweet. We bonded on that . . . They (Martin/Paltrow) are exceptional people. We have known each other because we have been in the business for the same amount of time."

Gwyneth flew out to California just a few days ago to meet up with Chris during Coldplay's string of tour dates there. Last night, Chris appeared on the latest American Idol episode with the guys. He'll be back on stage with his band this evening at the Hollywood Bowl.

How to Avoid Gaining Weight While Dating

Being in a relationship is so exciting that spending so much time together can cause your healthy lifestyle to fly out the window. You may even adopt some of your partner's unhealthy habits. That can add up to some extra pounds on the scale, so here are some tips to prevent weight gain while dating.

Remember that eating an extra 500 calories a day will make you gain a pound in one week, so be conscious of how much you're eating. Just because your guy has three slices of pizza, that doesn't mean you should too. Guys need more calories, so remember to eat appropriate sized portions, even when dining together.
You don't have to eat just because your partner is. Guys tend to inhale their meal, and then an hour later they're eating again. It can be tempting to join in if food is in front of you, but don't nosh unless you're truly hungry.

Keep up with your regular exercise schedule. When you're in a relationship, you don't want to sacrifice the things that are important to your own well-being, so make time for your 20 to 60 minutes of exercise a day. Get up early before work or steal away during lunchtime so you don't feel like it's taking away from time spent with your loved one.
Or better yet, exercise together. Meet at the gym after work, play tennis or racquetball, take salsa dance lessons or a Vinyasa yoga class, or join a dodgeball team.
Spend more time being active together instead of sitting on the couch. You don't have to be really athletic, but you can tour a museum, take a walk in the park, hike in the woods, or go for a bike ride.
Sign up for a healthy cooking class together so you can both learn new ways to make delicious dishes that are full of nutrients but not full of saturated fat, cholesterol, and empty calories.
