Happy Fall! I hope my Summer reading list helped you decide what to page through this past warm season, and now that it's Autumn, I thought I'd give you a whole new list of books that are currently in the process of being adapted into films. Peruse my picks (and see who'll be playing the roles) so you can inevitably say "the book was better" when the movie version is released!

Halle Berry Tries a Shoe Comedy on For Size

What would happen if you combined In Her Shoes with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? You might end up with something like Shoe Addicts Anonymous, an upcoming ensemble comedy starring Halle Berry.

There's no way around it: this movie is already a bona fide chick flick. Based on the novel by Beth Harbison, Shoe Addicts centers on four women living in Chicago who become "sole mates" of sorts when they discover they all wear the same size shoe, thus enabling them to feed their love for flats and stilettos by swapping with their pals.

According to Deadline Hollywood, each woman will be from a different ethnic background, so who can you see rounding out the cast as Berry's footwear-loving friends?

Just in time for beach-read season, Beth Harbison's Shoe Addicts Anonymous, $18, is a great escape while killing time baking under the sun (don't forget your sunscreen)!

Four women from Washington, D.C. meet weekly to swap and talk about, what else but shoes! Lorna Rafferty tries to get a handle on her massive consumer debt by posting an Internet ad looking to trade footwear with women who, like herself, have good taste. A senator's trophy wife, Helene Zaharis, wants to escape her loveless marriage. Sandra Vanderslice, an overweight phone sex operator struggles to overcome her agoraphobia long enough to attend the shoe meetings. The last and newest member, Joss Bowen, couldn't care less about shoes but nevertheless uses them as a reason to get out of the house.

Who knows what will happen next, but it sure sounds shoe-licious!

Halle Leaves Gabriel at Court and Heads to Lunch With Olivier

Halle Berry finished off what may have been a stressful morning by enjoying a relaxing lunch with boyfriend Olivier Martinez in LA yesterday. She started the day in court with her former partner, Gabriel Aubry, as their lawyers continue finalizing an agreement over the joint custody of their daughter, Nahla. It seems Halle and Gabriel have moved passed the back and forth mud slinging of months past and, according to the judge presiding over their case, things are coming to a close. She's on a break from projects at the moment, which gives her more time to spend at the beach and on mother-daughter outings with Nahla. Soon, though, Halle will return to work when she takes the lead in Shoe Addicts Anonymous.
