RocknRolla is extremely similar in tone and format to director Guy Ritchie's other films, and I must say I'm starting to think that his movies are only as good as the actors in them. Snatch is a good ensemble piece overall, but the most memorable parts are due to standout performances by actors like Brad Pitt and Alan Ford. Though not as good a film as Snatch, RocknRolla similarly benefits from some fine performers, in this case Tom Wilkinson, Mark Strong, and Toby Kebbell, among other members of the extensive cast in this convoluted story.

The title of this movie doesn't have an exclamation point at the end — I added that to the headline on account of my extreme enthusiasm for the RocknRolla trailer! As a huge fan of Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, I am positively giddy to see a trailer for another movie in that same vein. Plus, the cast rocks.

I don't often remember trailers for too long (and I'm guessing I'm not alone in that), so if they stick out in my mind they must have been truly memorable. I can still recall the trailer for Pineapple Express, which I thought was great, as were the trailers for The Dark Knight last year and, more recently, Where the Wild Things Are.
Now IFC has compiled a list of the 50 Greatest Trailers of All Time, and while viewing the list I had a few "Oh, yeah!"

OK Twilight fans, we have someone to play the Volturi leader and his name is Jamie Campbell-Bower. Based on this particular picture, it appears the young British actor was born to play a vampire (probably has to do with that mess of greasy hair and the guyliner). He's like Robert Pattinson's evil twin, which is about right for this role in New Moon.

All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. In addition to my selections below you can also add RocknRolla, The Rocker, and Kirk Cameron's Fireproof (have you seen the trailer?!) to your queue.

Holy geekfest, Buzz readers! I'm heading down to San Diego to attend this year's Comic-Con! I'm a Comic-Con virgin, so this will be my first time at the exciting comic book/sci-fi/fantasy event (though it's become mainstream enough to include some random stuff, like that Rainn Wilson movie The Rocker?) and up until now my understanding of Comic-Con has been vaguely based on that scene in Chasing Amy when Holden (Ben Affleck) goes up to Alyssa's (Joey Lauren Adams) booth where she's signing copies of her new comic book, and he hands her his.

There was Sherlock Holmes movie news recently (Guy Ritchie looking to re-invent the old sleuth story) and now there's more Sherlock Holmes movie news (Sacha Baron Cohen playing Holmes, Will Ferrell to play Watson in, of course, a comedic version). Can we call it a Sherlock Holmes "surge" or "trend" yet?
Regardless, there are two Holmes projects in the works and both sound intriguing.
