Chuck's in, FlashForward's Out! Who Else Is in Danger?

The Fall TV season is finally getting fleshed out, as word is rolling in about which of your favorite shows will be coming back - and which we can give a fond farewell. In today's most recent hirings and firings, Chuck is saved! I'm so glad I continued to watch this beloved show despite it being on the bubble (I guess NBC really listened to the fans!).

But in sadder news, the original Law & Order is finally being laid to rest after 20 years on the air. In its place, NBC is reportedly picking up a West Coast version of the show, Law & Order: Los Angeles. Over at ABC, FlashForward has been canceled after being on the rocks, but V is still in.

UPDATE: NBC's Heroes has been officially canceled.

ABC Renews 12 Series: Betty, Private Practice, Grey's, More

In addition to considering a number of pilots for the Fall TV season, ABC is committing to bringing a dozen shows back. The network announced today that it's picking up 12 series for an additional season, including its entire regular Thursday and Sunday night lineups.

That means the embattled Ugly Betty - which has dropped in the ratings this year and was pulled for a few weeks while ABC tried comedy on Thursdays - will be back, along with Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. Sunday's America's Funniest Home Videos, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers and Sisters will all be back as well.

The other series picked up are Lost (which we basically already knew) and the reality shows The Bachelor, Wife Swap, Supernanny, and Dancing with the Stars. More shows can still be renewed between now and May's Upfront presentation.

I'm not sure any of those are huge surprises - even though Betty seemed in danger earlier this season and Private Practice didn't perform that well till it started airing after Grey's. But it's still interesting to see pieces of ABC's future plans falling into place. What do you make of the news? Any shows you're sad to see left off the renewal list so far?

The Hills: Yup, Still Alive for Season Four

Get ready for more eyerolls and almost-certainly-manufactured drama: The Hills - the show oh so many people love to hate and/or hate to love - isn't going away anytime soon. The show has just been picked up for a fourth season (not to be confused with the current "season three, part two") that will start in August.

According to Us Weekly, the new season will have 19 episodes following what Lauren, Whitney, Audrina and the gang do this Summer. Which, I'm guessing, will be approximately the same thing they do the rest of the time. Oops, that was bitter. It's just that . . . well, I've admitted before that The Hills is one of my guilty pleasures, but how long can this show really go on? Nineteen more episodes is a long time to spend feeling guilty!

So, the question. For all you Hills lovers, are you still on board for a season four, or are you starting to feel a little bit over it? And for the Hills haters in the audience, well, feel free to vent your anger in the comments below.

ER to Return for a 15th Season - with Old Stars on Board?

ER has already aired its 300th episode and outlived virtually all the other series that premiered in 1994. Now, it appears that the stalwart Thursday night medical drama is likely to return for a 15th season in the Fall.

The producers seem pretty confident that they'll cut things off after No. 15, though - and so they're starting to court some of the show's former stars to see if they'd be willing to return for one last go-round at County General. Noah Wyle is already set to return as Dr. Carter for four episodes, and Goran Visnjic is expected to pop in as well. Maura Tierney had previously said she'd leave after this season, but it sounds like she'd be around for at least some of this final round.

What about Eriq LaSalle, Julianna Margulies, or - the prize of all prizes - George Clooney? One of the top producers told Entertainment Weekly they'd love to bring everyone back, saying:

"We want to revisit characters that have existed on the show over the years and say where they are now. We'd love to get them all back in some way, but that doesn't mean we're going to. But we're gonna try."

So, ER watchers, tell me: Which former characters would you most like to see return? Are there any you could live without? And, even if you stopped watching ER years ago, would you come back to see Carter, Doug, Carol, Benton, or Corday again?

SMG Picks Up Soon-to-Be Big Sister Charlotte From Dance Class

Sarah Michelle Gellar gave her daughter Charlotte Prinze a lift as she took her to ballet class on Saturday in LA. Charlotte was sporting a leotard and a cute animal-print skirt for her latest dance lesson. SMG, who is expecting her second child, has been toting Charlotte to and from the studio frequently. Earlier this month, she and Freddie Prinze Jr. spent a day at the zoo with their little one. SMG seems to be enjoying her break from work, and although it was recently announced that her series Ringer won't be renewed for a second season, she has plenty to look forward to with a new baby on the way. Meanwhile, Freddie could potentially be back on TV in the Fall, having signed on to shoot a new pilot for NBC alongside Mena Suvari.

Buzz Blabber: Grey's Anatomy Finale Is a Big Upset

Rewind: Fall TV Fever

We couldn't be more excited for Fall after the networks showed off all their new shows this week.
All the big networks - ABC , CBS, Fox, NBC, and The CW - also unveiled their new schedules.

CBS Renews Two and a Half Men and Cancels CSI: Miami, A Gifted Man, and More

The renewal and cancellation news has been coming in swiftly ahead of the coming week's upfronts, and now CBS has announced its decisions too. The network has renewed Two and a Half Men and CSI: NY, but it pulled the plug on CSI: Miami, Rob, A Gifted Man, Unforgettable, and NYC 22. All of the canceled shows were freshman series, aside from CSI: Miami, which had aired for 10 seasons. As for the returning shows, this will be the 10th season for Two and a Half Men (and the second with Ashton Kutcher) and the ninth for CSI: NY.

ABC Cancels GCB, Pan Am; Renews Scandal and Don't Trust the B----

There's a lot of wheeling and dealing going on in Hollywood this week, as all of the major TV networks have been cutting the fat and rolling out their new shows for Fall. ABC has made a lot of moves in particular; in addition to renewing the likes of Revenge, Happy Endings, and more, it's also bringing back freshman series Scandal, Last Man Standing, and Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23. Of course, this means that the network must make room for fresh meat by making some cancellations, and ABC is axing GCB, Pan Am, The Missing, and The River. Stay tuned for more updates about the shows we can expect from ABC come Fall!

Hart of Dixie and Nikita Renewed, Secret Circle and Ringer Axed

The CW isn't just renewing Gossip Girl for next season; the network is also bringing back Hart of Dixie for a second season, as well as a third season for Nikita. It's not happy news across the board though; freshman series Ringer and The Secret Circle are both dead and buried. On the bright side, The CW has a full plate of promising new shows, including the much-anticipated Carrie Diaries, so there's still plenty to look forward to next Fall.
