Camden County Wants to "Free Earl"

When Earl Hickey was sent to jail on the season finale of "My Name is Earl" last spring, what were the good people of Camden County to do? Why, they gathered to make a "We Are the World"-style music video pleading for Earl's release, that's what.

The video, which promotes the Sept. 27 season premiere of the show, features the whole "Earl" cast belting out the reasons Earl should be set free (best one: "he's our karma guy"). Go Behind The Scenes with "The Office" Blooper Reel

In case you've ever suspected the set of "The Office" might be the most fun place to work, here's some more fuel for the fire: the bloopers from the show's third season. Most, unsurprisingly, feature Steve Carell in character as Michael Scott, but there are some great Rainn Wilson moments, too. Among the other revelations: Jenna Fischer sneezes a lot, Ed Helms couldn't remember that Andy was his character's name, and Mindy Kaling may or may not know which celebrity baby is Suri and which is Shiloh. These come from the new DVD set courtesy of some enterprising YouTuber, so I'd hurry and watch before they're taken down. Just read more

Hilarious Fake Commercials for "Big Love"

While I was searching for those "Big Love" back story clips last week, I came across a couple of hysterical fake commercials HBO produced to promote the show's second season. Like the commercials for cremation shakers and fake skin in the first episode of "Six Feet Under," these false ads promote products that would make your life as a polygamist better.

The first, for "Eau de Polygamie," promotes a fragrance that will let you "set yourself apart from all his other wives." It's funny, but I don't think it's nearly as good as the spot for "Polygarol," a Viagra-type pill that promises to make sure the man has energy to take care of all his wives on "their night." I love how it copies every convention of Viagra ads, right down to the guy throwing a football through a tire - only this time, it's three tires. To check out the ads for yourself, read more

All Steve Carell, All The Time

You know I love Steve Carell, whether he's getting his chest waxed or wearing a woman's suit. If you're a fan, too, you might want to head over to Steve Almighty, a special section on NBC's DotComedy site where a new Steve clip will be posted every day through June 22, the release date for Carell's new movie, Evan Almighty.

So far, the site includes deleted scenes from The 40-Year-Old Virgin, clips from "The Office" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," Carell's acceptance speech from the Golden Globes, and several interviews. (There's nothing yet from "The Daily Show" or "Little Miss Sunshine," but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.)

I'm still generally wary of Evan Almighty, but I have to admit, any promotion that gets me a vintage "Ambiguously Gay Duo" clip is just fine by me.

Check Out Michael Cera's New Web Comedy

By now you know I love Michael Cera, aka George Michael Bluth from "Arrested Development." In addition to starring in this summer's Superbad, the 18-year-old has teamed up with his friend Clark Duke for Clark and Michael, an online-only Web comedy for CBS.

The first short episode went online this week, and it's pretty good - very dry humor in the style of "Arrested Development" or some of the wackier Comedy Central shows of recent years. The show is styled as a documentary about two young Hollywood wannabes trying to sell their first script, acting savvy but really having no clue what they're doing. Clark and Michael have roped some older, wiser comedic actors into the project, as well: The first episode has cameos by Tony "Buster Bluth" Hale and Comedy Central regular Eric Wareheim.

New episodes will go up every Wednesday until, as Clark and Michael wrote on their MySpace page, they run out of episodes. Fair enough. If you check it out, let me know what you think. CBS Promises Closure for "Jericho" Fans

I had no idea "Jericho" fans were such a passionate bunch. After CBS revealed last week that the apocalyptic drama wouldn't be returning next season, viewers inundated CBS with e-mails, started petitions, and launched a YouTube video campaign.

Well, the network is listening. Over the weekend, this statement from CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler appeared on the show's Web site:

We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show - both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.

Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.

It's unclear what "closure" could mean, since giving the show a second season appears to be out of the question. Two of the suggestions I've seen are a TV movie or some online outlet for tying up the characters' stories. If you're a fan, tell me: What kind of ending would satisfy you? Vote for the Best Short and Win a Trip to See "SNL"

Recently, the digital shorts on "Saturday Night Live" have been the best thing about the show. Now, if you vote for your favorite, you can win a trip to see the season finale taping live on May 19.

Voting closes today, so you'll have to hurry. The shorts in contention are: "Body Fuzion" with Drew Barrymore, "Dick in a Box," "Laser Cats," "Peyton Manning for the United Way," and "Sloths."

I'm sad that the Rainn Wilson / Arcade Fire business meeting didn't make the cut, and I think "Dick in a Box" is probably the sure winner - though the Peyton Manning sketch cracks me up, too. To vote, fill out the form here, then check back May 5 to see which short is the winner. The winner of the trip will be chosen at random from all the votes received.

CBS Will Send Bob Barker Out in Style

Some of my earliest memories involve watching Bob Barker on "The Price is Right" in my grandma's living room, so I'm glad to see that CBS is sending the 83-year-old host off in style before his retirement this year. First, he'll be hosting a special primetime episode of the show, "The Price is Right Million Dollar Spectacular," on May 16. Then, the next night, the network will air a special tribute to Barker's 50 years in show business, including Barker's reminiscences and clips from classic "The Price is Right" games. I'm hoping for lots of Plinko.

CBS is also starting up a new edition of its "15 Seconds" YouTube video series all about Barker. They're hoping to collect a batch of 15-second tributes to Barker, some of which will be broadcast during the primetime specials or during a daytime episode of "The Price is Right." I can't wait to see what people come up with - and besides, isn't it time you taught your grandma how to make a YouTube video anyway?

CBS still hasn't named a replacement host, though George Hamilton is the latest name floating around. The network also hasn't said when Barker will tape his last show, so there's still time to get to LA and have Bob tell you to spay and neuter your pets in person.

Seventy-Seven Sopranos Episodes in Seven Minutes

If, like me, you've fallen behind on "The Sopranos" and don't think you can catch up before its final episodes begin April 8, don't worry. A guy named Paul Gulyas has condensed all six seasons of the mob drama into seven jam-packed, fast-paced, "whacked out," and totally addictive minutes. I suspect HBO will be ordering YouTube to pull the video soon, but they really should leave it up - after all, I totally feel ready to watch "The Sopranos" now. To see the video, read more

Behind the Scenes with "Grey's Anatomy"

Thanks to Defamer for pointing me to the "Grey's Anatomy" gag reel, a set of three behind-the-scenes videos that have mysteriously appeared on YouTube. The videos are heavy on the inside jokes, with writers and backstage staff reenacting some classic "Grey's" scenes and generally poking fun at themselves. Unfortunately, parts 1 and 2 appear to have been taken down, so if you got to watch Katherine Heigl's fake on-set freakout, consider yourself lucky.

Meanwhile, if you hurry, you can still watch part 3, which includes a montage of drinking scenes (hint: there are a lot) and some writers' room antics with a cardboard cutout of Patrick Dempsey. To watch the clip, read more
