Ah, work. It's what many of us are going to celebrate not doing this Labor Day weekend! Some movies depict the drudgery of office life while others (often rom-coms) make it all seem so glamorous.

New Moon madness translated to big bucks for the Twilight sequel: After it set new records for midnight ticket sales and single-day ticket sales, it was obvious it would rule the weekend box office at number one. And how: the movie pulled in $140.7 million, clocking it at the third biggest opening weekend ever, behind The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3.

The apocalypse makes for top of the box office: doomsday drama 2012 was the number one movie this weekend, pulling in $65 million in its first outing at theaters. If that sounds like an insane amount of money to you, you're right — it's the seventh highest-grossing November opening ever.
Last week's number one, Jim Carrey's A Christmas Carol was pushed into the second spot with $22.3 million, followed by The Men Who Stare at Goats with $6.2 million.

Let's be honest: for most of you, it doesn't matter what I — or any critics for that matter — have to say about New Moon, the incredibly anticipated sequel to last year's Twilight. The film started breaking box office records before it was even released, and audiences will flock to the theaters for weeks to come. On the plus side, a ticket to New Moon is a win even if you're not a Twihard — provided that you know what you're getting into.

A little Robert Pattinson overload never hurt anyone, but here's a break from all of his vampire stuff — the official trailer for Remember Me! Yesterday we took a peek at the first stills from the film, but here we get a much better taste for Pattinson's chemistry with Emilie de Ravin in the upcoming drama/romance. Pattinson plays Tyler, a broody but romantic college student who falls for the daughter of a cop (de Ravin).

Jason Lee has been keeping a low profile since My Name Is Earl went off the air, but he's about to make a return to TV in the upcoming TNT series Delta Blues, which is executive produced by George Clooney. Lee is set to play Dwight Hendricks, a police officer by day, Elvis impersonator by night.
I loved Lee in pretty much every Kevin Smith movie — from Brodie in Mallrats to Banky in Chasing Amy — but I could never warm up to Earl (or that absurd mustache).
