But, lately there are so many good shows on the tube with strong, relatable women characters that it's time to put your DVR to use! This allows a mama to watch the shows once her kids have been tucked into bed and skip the commercials which saves time. Here are six prime time series that are too good to miss. I want so much for them to find someone who's a perfect complement, and today it struck me that I may know how to make them happy. Maybe the reason our favorite singletons haven't found the right partner yet is that they're on the wrong show. Grey's Anatomy Season Six Sneak Peek!

Considering how heartbreaking the season five finale of Grey's Anatomy was, it's not surprising that the premiere looks like a tear-jerker. We all know by now that George won't be returning but Izzie is going to pull through. On the bright side, there seem to be a few happy moments to balance out the sad ones - including some shirtless Derek action. The premiere is on Sept. 24, so be sure to print out a copy of my calendar so you don't miss it!

The Cast of Grey's Slip Back Into Their Scrubs

The doctors of Seattle Grace were back to their familiar blue attire to shoot a few scenes for Grey's Anatomy in LA yesterday. Eric Dane and Patrick Dempsey goofed around outside on the patio, though McDreamy didn't seem all that impressed with McSteamy's bulging biceps. The atmosphere must be a lot lighter for Katherine Heigl now, too, since she doesn't have to worry about her character getting killed off by a brain tumor. Now that next season's plot is back to being a mystery, we're even more excited for the Fall to get started.

Heigl Talks Golden Globes, Plus WGA-Award Nomination

The stars of Grey's Anatomy were out picketing in support of their writers (or former writers, as the case may be, Isaiah Washington?) yesterday. This morning was a bittersweet one for the show, as it was nominated for two Golden Globes - Best Dramatic Series as well as Heigl for Best Supporting Actress. Naturally, Heigl spoke to Entertainment Tonight about what this means. She said, "I'm not crossing the picket line - not unless I'm contractually obliged to do so - which the Golden Globes I'm not." In brighter Writers Guild news, they just released their nominees for this year's WGA Awards and while Grey's didn't pick up any nods, some great and very deserving shows did. Seattle Grace Joins The Writers' Strike

Pretty soon, we won't be able to look to Seattle Grace for our weekly fix of ludicrous and heart-wrenching medical drama. As of next week, these actors here will no longer be reporting for duty in the OR. Grey's Anatomy stars took a break from filming their last scripted episode to stand with the picketers outside their set yesterday afternoon. Check out Buzz for some video of Sandra Oh talking about the strike and updates as to what is going on with some other of our favorite shows. Maybe Bill Clinton can step in and mediate? I mean, he's offering. Just saying.

Just Another Day At Seattle Grace

If last week's season premiere of Grey's Anatomy wasn't enough to get you excited to be back in the thick of things at Seattle Grace, here's the cast lounging around in those infamous baby blue scrubs. Heigl prefers her normal clothes while mellowing out with her music (perhaps the vocal stylings of her fiance?) and Patrick Dempsey stays McDreamy around his car. And Ellen reuses her grocery bags, yay. The end of the season premiere left me in a rage, but here's to hoping it gets better from here. And no more deer doctoring, please.

Katherine Helps Us Gear Up For Grey's

Katherine Heigl went casual in her baseball cap to do a little shopping in LA yesterday. This girl has been everywhere this summer, but tonight we finally get to see her back on the small screen (which is where most of you prefer to see her anyway). We've been all caught up with the new shows, but we're definitely excited to finally get back into Seattle Grace. We may not be huge fans of Gizzie, but the real life friendship between Katherine and T.R. is pretty cute - she even got him a puppy as a birthday gift! Callie would be so pissed.

Days of Grey's (And Private Practice) Are Almost Here!

Kate Walsh just got married a couple weeks ago, but it looks like the honeymoon is literally over and she's back to shopping LA. She decided to skip Ellen Pompeo's pre-Emmy party, but we're betting she'll be joining her former Grey's costars on the red carpet at the Emmys on Sunday. We can't wait for the big show, but we're even more excited for the next season of Grey's! As for Kate's Private Practice, we're not totally on board yet, but we're willing to give it a chance. And don't forget - you still have a couple of days left to fill out your Emmy ballot but we recommend that you get on that ASAP.

Kate Walsh's Bachelorette Weekend in Vegas

This weekend Grey's Anatomy's Sara Ramirez helped her ex-co-star Kate Walsh celebrate her last days of being a bachelorette with friends at Tao. Looks like they had a blast based on these pictures! The women spent the weekend gambling, sunning, working out and partying. People reports :

After a quick workout, the actress then got a surprise in her hotel room: a visit from two male strippers.

Later, continuing their Vegas blitz, the ladies were spotted dining on sushi rolls, lobster wontons and Kobe beef at Tao Restaurant. "You could tell they were all really content. Kate looked really happy and couldn't stop smiling," an onlooker said.

"Sara (Ramirez) even got on the table and started dancing," the source said. "Everyone was laughing and clapping."

Sounds like Kate's friends threw her a perfectly wild bachelorette weekend. Good to know the ladies of Seattle Grace don't take themselves as seriously as their on-screen counterparts do.

Katherine & TR Getting Back In The Scrubs

Katherine Heigl rocked her iPhone back on the set of Grey's Anatomy with her BFF TR Knight. While it's a little bit of a spoiler to see TR back in those baby blue scrubs, there was really never a question that he would be back this season -- we're just not sure if he is at Seattle Grace repeating his intern year or elsewhere. As for these two, the on-screen maybe lovers and off-screen best friends must be overjoyed to share their Emmy Nomination Happiness. Now, what to do with their plotline romance...thankfully it might be over before it even began.

Kate Walsh Channels The Pink Panther

Kate Walsh went for the super girlie bubblegum look this weekend, from head to toe. Obviously we love pink, but this is overkill. Kate is enjoying what's left of the summer before she gets into gear for the fall debut of Private Practice. It's definitely going to be strange watching Grey's without Addison and Dr. Burke, but it looks like we'll get a chance to see both actors on new shows next season. Yep, that's right, Dr Burke may be gone from Grey's but NBC has added Isaiah to one of their most anticipated new shows, Bionic Woman.

Eric Dane Reacts to Isaiah Leaving Grey's

Eric and Rebecca rubbed shoulders with Prince Albert II in the courtyard of the Monaco Palace while attending the Monte Carlo Television Festival. It looks like Eric got some McSteamy attention of his own as well! With all the recent Grey's news Eric gave his two cents on Isaiah Washington getting fired from Grey's. He told Extra, “It’s sad and unfortunate and whoever had to do it must have had a very difficult decision to make." Obviously he feels pretty sympathetic for his former costar. Eric also mentioned that he might be showing up on Private Practice next season! We're sure he'll steam up that show too!

Dempsey Doesn't Want McDreamy to be Depressed

Patrick is still working hard on Made of Honor while on his hiatus from Grey's but that doesn't mean he isn't still thinking about the show. Just like us he thinks that Grey's was too dark this season. He said, “I would love for Derek and Meredith to have a healthy relationship. It got a little too depressing last year.” Ellen totally backs him up. “I don’t think you need sadness to have drama." We couldn't agree more. Hopefully the Grey's writers will take this hint and lighten things up this next season.
