Buzz Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers!

Welcome back to my Buzz Gift Guide series for all the entertainment lovers in your life. I've covered a lot of different categories over the past couple of weeks to help you cross off the TV, movie, and music buffs on your list. Today I've got some ideas for smaller-sized gifts to slip into stockings.

iPod shuffles continue to impress me with their affordable price and cute, tiny size. They're a great gift for an active music-loving friend but they're also good for your less-is-more friends who don't need all the bells and whistles (or storage space, for that matter) of a larger, more expensive MP3 player. Plus, they come in really fun colors. And to go with the shuffle, consider these comfy-looking clip-on headphones.

It's possible that some of your geekier friends will get a kick out of these Star Wars-inspired USB flash drives (hands down, my favorite is the C-3PO one). For the know-it-alls in your life (or the wannabes), these trivia cards are fun, especially if you've got another week or so with the fam and need to pass the time. Finally, some cute TV-related ideas: Little Lost Kubrick figures, and the star mugs that Kelly made for the Dunder-Mifflin coworkers who showed up to her America's Got Talent finale party.

How Well Do You Know the Era of Mad Men?

Are you ready for something insanely addicting but also highly informative? Then check out this Mad Men-themed Jeopardy game online. The game covers the early 1960s through categories like "Ad Slogans," "In the News," and "Popular Culture." I've played several times now and I'm amazed at the trivia I've absorbed through the show. TV is so good for making people smarter (of course, I have to say that!). It's also funny because when you get the answer wrong the crowd gasps really loudly, and when you get it right sometimes your little cartoon person will raise the roof in joy.

It's good practice for when an actual Mad Men category will be included on a special Jeopardy on Oct. 17. I, for one, will be watching with a pen that I will pretend is a buzzer. Sigh. I'm such a sucker for both of these shows.

Which Hasbro Product Will Make the Best Movie?

Universal Pictures recently signed a deal with game manufacturer Hasbro "to produce at least four feature films based on branded properties." These properties include Clue, Monopoly, Candyland, Ouija, Battleship, Magic: The Gathering and Stretch Armstrong.

Of course, Clue has already been made into a movie, so who knows what they'll try to do with that one? Monopoly is already in production as a Ridley Scott film, and some of these others seem like they could actually be made into projects (a Ouija horror flick, action movie based on Battleship, kids' fantasy story set in Candyland, etc.).

Leaving out Clue since it's been done, which of these properties seems most promising as a movie?

Brad Pitt Enters the Dark Void

Introducing Brad Pitt, computer game star: the actor's production company Plan B has signed off on a deal with Capcom to adapt the game Dark Void for the big screen with Pitt as the lead. Void follows a pilot who crashes in the Bermuda Triangle and finds himself in an alternate universe fighting off aliens intent on taking over the human race.

This seems more like Will Smith territory to me - I immediately think of something along the lines of I, Robot or I Am Legend. Even so, I welcome the chance to see Pitt in a sci-fi action movie, and this storyline sounds tailor-made for the blockbuster treatment.

Oprah's Getting in Bed With HBO

Well, kind of. The days of Oprah Winfrey's talk show may be numbered, but don't expect her to disappear anytime soon. Just a few days after her big announcement, the media mogul already has a project with HBO in the works - and she's kicking things up a notch. Her company Harpo films is working to develop a steamy hour-long pilot about a woman who abandons her family in LA to explore her sexual fantasies and desires.

Erin Cressida Wilson is on board to write, which seems fitting since she also penned the S&M-themed flick Secretary. Oprah will be one of the executive producers.

HBO has never shied away from racy shows (True Blood, anyone?) - but it still feels kinda strange to see Oprah's name attached to a project that's centered on overtly sexual storylines. Then again, it's not like Winfrey will be the one starring in it, and I'm always game for something new from HBO.

Buzz In: What's Your Favorite Game Show of All Time?

While we've been busy trying to tackle all the awesome new series of the Fall, the networks are still adding fresh shows to their slates. NBC's most recent pickup is a new game show called Perfect 10, where contestants are challenged to quickly finish regular household chores for a chance to win a million dollars. Sounds simple enough, but so did Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader.

Between Perfect 10 and the CBS reboot of Let's Make a Deal, it sounds like there will be plenty of new options for game show viewing this season. These days I can barely keep up with all of my favorite scripted shows, but I do catch an episode of Deal or No Deal every now and then. The Price is Right will also always hold a place in my heart - I was one of those kids who would be yelling "One dollar!" at the screen when I was home sick as a kid. What about you - what are some of your favorite game shows?

Buzz In: What Do You Think of Movies Based on Video Games?

War play video game Call of Duty could join the ranks of Max Payne and Prince of Persia by going from gaming console to big screen: an adaptation of the game may be in the works (admittedly, all I know about Call of Duty is that it's the video game Jim, Karen, and Andy played in the Stamford branch on The Office).

Video games have been mined for years for movie potential, but only a few have proved successful. Sometimes the movies are entertaining, but other times the plot lines come second to special effects. I have mixed feelings; I think Tomb Raider is great but Super Mario Bros. majorly missed the mark. Where do you stand? Do you hold a particular video game movie close to your heart?

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "America's Next Top Model Is..."

The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived: I've been gearing up with my America's Next Top Model quizzes for months, and Bella has been getting in on the excitement with her ANTM faceoff game - and now we finally have our Cycle 13 winner! Buzz Gift Guide: The Party Hostess

Got a friend who always loves to entertain? Don't forget to repay her for all those awesome nights with a little something special.
