While many of us were all wrapped up in Grammy hoopla, the ladies of Wisteria Lane were stirring up a little trouble of their own. This week lots of relationships were strengthened: Lynette and Tom's, Bree and Orson's, um, Danny and Ana's. .

After the Golden Globes glow faded away last night, it was time to head back to my favorite ladies on Wisteria Lane. This week has more sweet moments than serious drama, and actually has a few relatable housewife issues (which is rare for Desperate Housewives these days). Gaby and Susan get competitive about their kids' intelligence, while Angie squares off against Danny's new girlfriend Ana.

After a cataclysmic plane crash and a series of odd flash forwards, we're finally getting back to normal on Desperate Housewives. If "normal" includes a Susan Delfino striptease, that is. I thought this week had a nice balance of the goofier antics that we love the show for, along with more serious subject matter as Lynette tries to cope with the loss of her unborn child and Gaby reflects on her own self-loathing.

After the holiday break the stars were spotted on set ready to work. The girls and guys of Gossip Girl and Desperate Housewives got back to business on opposite coasts, while Cher and Christina Aguilera started filming Burlesque in NYC. Mariska Hargitay was also joined by special guest Kathy Griffin.

- After Julie Benz's shocking Dexter exit, she's moving into a new neighborhood: Wisteria Lane. Benz will join the cast of Desperate Housewives as an educated stripper (you read that right) to whom Susan offers a job.
- True Blood's Lafayette is getting a new love interest! It's in the form of Southland star Kevin Alejandro, who will play Jesus, an orderly caring for Lafayette's ailing mother (a recently cast Alfre Woodard).
- After appearing as a guest star on Grey's Anatomy, Kim Raver has been promoted to permanent cast member.

This week, Desperate Housewives finally brought us the follow-up we've all been waiting for: the aftermath of the disastrous Christmas plane crash. By the end of the episode we learn who survived, who didn't, and who's been badly injured, but along the way we also get a peek into the minds of the ladies of Wisteria Lane as they contemplate what might have been.
Ready to break it all down?

You've already told me about the network comedy that keeps you laughing (and TiVoing) merrily, but now I want to move onto a more serious subject: drama. These amazing programs showcased some great acting, twisty plots, and powerhouse storylines this year. Which one is your favorite?

Well folks, the moment we've all been waiting for — the big Desperate Housewives plane crash — has finally arrived. Many conflicts came to a head this week: Bree and Orson (then Orson and Karl!), Susan and Katherine, Gaby and Lynette. Plus, we get another clue about Angie's big crime and the crash turns out to be a romantic gesture gone horribly wrong.
