Young Stars Who Grew Up to Be - Gasp! - Relatively Normal

Seeing all the publicity around Kit Kittredge: An American Girl has me thinking about how normal the film's young star, Abigail Breslin, seems. She's already got an Oscar nomination and some headlining roles under her belt, and so far it's hard to imagine her winding up like so many other young actors these days, getting attention for their downward spirals rather than their stellar performances. So, as a plea to keep Breslin on the up-and-up, I thought it would be fun to check out some young stars who made good. No, they didn't all win Oscars; some had dark years or briefly faded out of the spotlight. But overall, they grew into seemingly nice people with Hollywood careers to be proud of. Glee-ful Highlights From Episode "The Spanish Teacher"

Glee goes Latin this week when guest star Ricky Martin stops by to shake it and teach Mr. Schue a thing about Spanish (which, despite being a Spanish teacher, he does not know). A couple more people find out about Finn and Rachel's engagement, though Mercedes and Sam are still far more unclear about their relationship. Sue also announces a highly frightening desire to be a mother while clawing at the chance to be a tenured teacher.

There are some fun numbers this week, but they couldn't distract from the fact that this episode is all over the place. A couple of the subplots are just plain ridiculous, but it's not totally without its highlights, so let's go over them after the jump.

Casting Update: Who's in For Les Misérables

The casting for upcoming musical Les Misérables is shaping right up, with most of the major parts now filled. The most recent news is that stage actress Samantha Barks will be taking on the role of Eponine, beating out previously rumored hopefuls like Taylor Swift and Lea Michele. The Tom Hooper-directed musical is one of the movies we're most looking forward to this year, so we've been eagerly eating up all the casting news. If you're also a fan of the beloved stage musical set during the 19th century, check out who's been cast in the film so far.

Hugh Jackman will star as protagonist Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who adopts orphan Cosette and turns his life around as the mayor of a small town.
Anne Hathaway will play Fantine, a woman forced to become a prostitute to support her young daughter, Cosette. She dies early on and requests that Jean Valjean raise her daughter in her absence.
Russell Crowe is attached to play Inspector Javert, Valjean's nemesis who becomes obsessed with bringing Valjean to justice.
Amanda Seyfried will play Cosette, Jean Valjean's adopted daughter, who falls for Marius.
Sacha Baron Cohen has the role of villain Monsieur Thenardier, a man who forces Cosette to work when she's a small child.
Eddie Redmayne will play Marius, a young man involved in the revolution, and the object of affection for both Cosette and Eponine.
The role of Eponine, the woman who is also in love with Marius, has gone to an unknown: Samantha Barks, a British stage actress who has played the part onstage before.
Aaron Tveit has a supporting role as Enjolras, a friend of Marius's who is also involved in a student-led revolution.

The Help's Win, Love For 30 Rock and Modern Family, a Scorsese Drinking Game - Highlights From the SAG Awards!

Michelle Williams was the first presenter at this evening's SAG Awards, handing the outstanding supporting actor statue to Christopher Plummer from Beginners. Octavia Spencer took home the corresponding statue for her work in The Help.

On the TV end, Alec Baldwin squealed with delight when he was named best actor in a comedic series, and an especially stunned Betty White, from Hot in Cleveland, dedicated her prize to her leading ladies Wendie Malick, Valerie Bertinelli, and Jane Leeves. The child actors from Modern Family, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, and Nolan Gould, got a chance to take the podium when their series won outstanding cast in a comedy. Miniseries accolades went to two absent stars, Kate Winslet for Mildred Pierce and Paul Giamatti for Too Big to Fail.

Bridesmaids' Maya Rudolph, Kristin Wiig, and Melissa McCarthy brought some comedic relief when onstage introducing their film as a contender in the best ensemble category. The trio came to the stage armed with vodka, beer, and champagne, and introduced a drinking game based around the word "Scorsese." Jessica Lange then followed up on her Golden Globes win with another victory in the category of best dramatic actress on a TV series for American Horror Story. Steve Buscemi won an Actor for his leading role on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. TV ensemble in a drama honors went to Steve's whole cast, giving him an additional opportunity to invoke his producer Martin Scorsese's name as an excuse for a drink.

There was a slight upset in the best actor in a film category - The Artist's Jean Dujardin beat out Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Demián Bichir, and George Clooney. Viola Davis claimed the best female actor in a motion picture for The Help, and beamed from the stage in her Marchesa gown. Further acclaim went to the cast of Viola's movie, with their Actor statues being handed off by none other than Brad Pitt. Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson Pair Up For a Pizza Date

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson shared a date night over pizza in LA yesterday. Jessica showed off her maternity style in another maxi dress. The couple are expecting their first child together, but that's not the only project Jessica has on her plate. She and Nicole Richie have been promoting their new reality competition, Fashion Star, which will premiere on March 13. Jessica and Eric will be glued to the small screen well before her show hits, though, since the Super Bowl airs next weekend. They're big football fans, especially after Eric played in the NFL for multiple years following his graduation from Yale.

Jessica and Eric Celebrate Tina Simpson's Birthday With Vincent and Ashlee

The Simpson clan got together for a special dinner at Mastro's steakhouse in LA last night. Jessica Simpson and her fiancé Eric Johnson were together to celebrate her mom Tina's birthday, along with Ashlee Simpson and her boyfriend Vincent Piazza. In honor of Tina's big day, Jessica wrote her a special tweet. Jessica posted, "Happy Birthday Tina Simpson! I am the woman I am today because I have had you to look up to my entire life. I love you!"

It's a special time for the Simpsons as they all await the birth of Jessica and Eric's first child. The pregnancy hasn't slowed Jess down on the work front, as she's been all over talking up her new NBC reality series Fashion Star. She attended the TCAs in Pasadena earlier this month, when she also revealed that becoming a mother has inspired her to create a maternity line.
