Song of the Day: Andre 3000, "Class of 3000 Theme Song"

Um, did anyone know that Andre 3000 of Outkast has his own show on the Cartoon Network? I consider myself pretty well-versed in all things music- and TV-related, and I honestly had no idea. Perhaps that's because I don't have kids, but if I did, I'd be plopping them down in front of the tube every Thursday night to catch "Class of 3000."

The animated series has Andre voicing a character named Sunny Bridges, "who quits the entertainment business and returns to Atlanta to teach a diverse group of child prodigies at the Westley School for the Performing Arts." New episodes start tonight at 7 p.m. EDT, and Andre is also releasing a 14-song Class of 3000 soundtrack on July 3. Even the theme song is adorable and catchy. "Robot Chicken" Takes on "Star Wars"

George Lucas usually isn't one for letting people make fun of his beloved Star Wars franchise, but this Sunday marks an exception. The guys of "Robot Chicken," the Adult Swim show that uses stop-motion animation and action figures to poke fun at pop culture, convinced Lucas to lend his material (and his voice) to a special "Robot Chicken" take on Star Wars.

Mark "Luke Skywalker" Hamill is among the other celebrities lending their voices to the special, which will air at the top of every hour from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. USA Today has the details on how Lucas came to give the special his blessing, while MTV talked with creator Seth Green about making sure he and "Family Guy" (which will do its own take on Star Wars in the fall) weren't making fun of the same things.

I have always been an Anna Kournikova fan, but now even more so than before.

The hot tennis starlet is teaming with the Cartoon Network on an all-new healthy lifestyles DVD program entitled "Get Animated with Anna Kournikova" that will teach kids fun, creative ways to stay healthy and active in any typical indoor classroom setting. The program shows that every child can find a way to raise his or her heart rate, burn some calories and become more fit. The DVD will include the following, all of which sound like fun, for even an adult:

Warm Up Exercises provide a way to get the oxygen and blood flowing and kids to get moving!
Chair Aerobics is a fun way to get your heart pumping and your muscles working. These quick exercises can energize, increase productivity and provide an easy alternative to conventional exercises.
Air Step Aerobics is similar to Step Aerobics only without a step. Students pretend to have a step in front of them. This is a great way to increase the heart rate, energize the mind, and have fun!
Pretend Rope Jumping is a great way for students to practice rope jumping skills without ever making a mistake. No equipment is needed as students use only a “pretend” rope.
Canned Food Exercises are a convenient way to strengthen muscles and help build strong bones without having to spend money on equipment. One pound cans of food are used as weights. Muscular endurance is emphasized as opposed to muscular strength which is developmentally appropriate for kids aged 8-11.
Mind in Motion works both the body and the brain. Arrows and Cartoon Network characters pointing in different directions appear on the screen and children (and adults) must react by moving his/her feet, arms or body in the direction of the pointing arrow(s).
Cool Down Exercises help bodies cool down and enable kids to focus and prepare for new tasks.

Seriously, can I get a copy of this DVD? It sounds like fun! I am very impressed that Anna is using her stardom to be a good influence on kids, rather than just jumping on the party/rehab cycle that most stars seem to be choosing these days.

Tom Brady Shows Off Hot Short Haircut For a Pats Win in Oakland

Tom Brady chopped off his famous long locks last week, though this afternoon's game in Oakland was the first time he showed off his hot new haircut during a game this season. Tom recently spoke about not taking his tresses too seriously, but the timing of his change of pace after last Sunday's loss to the Bills had people wondering if the two were related. Brady certainly seemed to have his swagger back on the field today as he led the Patriots to a 31-19 win over the Raiders. While Tom and his sexy shorter hair were taking the field in CA, his wife Gisele Bundchen was making her own headlines this week. Gisele celebrated her new eco-educational Cartoon Network show by heading to Brazil and planting trees with kids in Sao Paolo. Gisele also landed herself in a bit of hot water for her recent lingerie-clad ad campaign, which is actually regarding Brazil's rain forest.

Gisele Bundchen made her way to Sao Paolo recently to join a group of Brazilian kids as they planted seeds in the rain forest. The event was in celebration of the model and environmental activist's new animated Cartoon Network show, Gisele and the Green Team, which aims to get kids involved in environmental causes. Gisele has long been involved with planet-saving organizations, and the visit to her home country was her latest big push for the effort. Meanwhile, her newly short-haired husband, Tom Brady, focused on some philanthropic efforts of his own back in the States. Last week, Tom visited with kids from the Boston Boys and Girls Club at the opening of the city's new Ermenegildo Zegna boutique, which raised money for the nonprofit.

Texts and Tunes: Knuffle Bunny

Any mama who has frantically searched for her lil one's lovey will have a good laugh at Mo Willem's Knuffle Bunny ($11). The book tells the tale of a father that takes his tot to the laundromat and can't make out his lil one's hysteria as they make the trek back home. Of course, as soon as they return home, the mother asks where the lovey is and the family retraces their steps in search of the beloved rabbit. Written by a Sesame Street and Cartoon Network veteran, Knuffle Bunny is filled with photos of the author's Brooklyn neighborhood that are adorned with cartoon images of the characters. The book bills itself as a "cautionary tale," but it makes a perfect bedtime story for the toddler and preschool set. Willems is currently at work turning the book into a musical for the Kennedy Center's 2010 season.
