Jennifer Hudson Believes in the Power of Exercise

Congratulations to Jennifer Hudson!!!! The power of her voice practically blew me down through the television last night. What struck me even more was her exercise routine. Since she had to put 20 pounds on to play her Oscar winning role of plus-size Effie, she's been hard at work at working out.

Her trainer, LaFonza Alston created a diet and exercise plan to help Jennifer drop the weight. He told her every portion of food should only be the size of her hand - good note for us all to live by - portion control is ever so helpful when eating healthy. The diet sounds rather bland - salads, grilled chicken, nuts, and cranberry juice. Her workout plan includes a 4 am run followed by 4 sets of squats, push-ups and sit-ups. On the red carpet I heard her tell Ryan Seacrest that she went back to the gym at 1pm for more. Dang!!!! She did lose 25 pounds over the course of 3 months and has got to be in terrific shape.

Much of the 2007 Oscar buzz is swirling around Jennifer Hudson for her role in Dreamgirls, but does she deserve the award for Best Supporting Actress? Who do you think should win?

The Help's Win, Love For 30 Rock and Modern Family, a Scorsese Drinking Game - Highlights From the SAG Awards!

Michelle Williams was the first presenter at this evening's SAG Awards, handing the outstanding supporting actor statue to Christopher Plummer from Beginners. Octavia Spencer took home the corresponding statue for her work in The Help.

On the TV end, Alec Baldwin squealed with delight when he was named best actor in a comedic series, and an especially stunned Betty White, from Hot in Cleveland, dedicated her prize to her leading ladies Wendie Malick, Valerie Bertinelli, and Jane Leeves. The child actors from Modern Family, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, and Nolan Gould, got a chance to take the podium when their series won outstanding cast in a comedy. Miniseries accolades went to two absent stars, Kate Winslet for Mildred Pierce and Paul Giamatti for Too Big to Fail.

Bridesmaids' Maya Rudolph, Kristin Wiig, and Melissa McCarthy brought some comedic relief when onstage introducing their film as a contender in the best ensemble category. The trio came to the stage armed with vodka, beer, and champagne, and introduced a drinking game based around the word "Scorsese." Jessica Lange then followed up on her Golden Globes win with another victory in the category of best dramatic actress on a TV series for American Horror Story. Steve Buscemi won an Actor for his leading role on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. TV ensemble in a drama honors went to Steve's whole cast, giving him an additional opportunity to invoke his producer Martin Scorsese's name as an excuse for a drink.

There was a slight upset in the best actor in a film category - The Artist's Jean Dujardin beat out Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Demián Bichir, and George Clooney. Viola Davis claimed the best female actor in a motion picture for The Help, and beamed from the stage in her Marchesa gown. Further acclaim went to the cast of Viola's movie, with their Actor statues being handed off by none other than Brad Pitt. The green room backstage at last night's SAG Awards offered some of the presenters a rare moment to take a load off! Kyra Sedgwick and husband Kevin Bacon shared a sweet moment on a couch, then welcomed Michelle Williams over for a hug. Michelle's BFF Busy Philipps was in charge of holding their clutches when Michelle kicked off the show and presented the oustanding male actor in a supporting role to Beginners star Christopher Plummer. Busy also took a moment to say hello to actress Regina King. Owen Wilson hung out there as well, along with a Givenchy haute couture-clad Zoe Saldana and Natalie Portman in Giambattista Valli. The SAG Awards winners were taken from the backstage area over to the press room, while those who announced the awards went out into the audience to reclaim their seats. However, there is still one category that's undecided - who do you think was best dressed at the SAG Awards?

Emma Stone Picks McQueen For Her Big SAG Awards Night

Emma Stone wore Alexander McQueen to join the fun on the red carpet at this evening's SAG Awards in LA. It's a big night for Emma and her many costars from The Help. The whole gang is up for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, and Viola Davis is in the running for outstanding performance by a female actress in a leading role. Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer have a friendly rivalry in the best supporting female actress in a supporting role, along with The Artist's Bérénice Bejo, Bridesmaids's Melissa McCarthy, and Albert Nobbs's Janet McTeer. Emma has made many award season stops so far, hitting the Golden Globes, the People's Choice Awards, and the Critics' Choice Awards. Nonetheless, Emma and her The Amazing Spider-Man costar Andrew Garfield took a quick jaunt to Japan for one of their first press duties. Andrew, who's Emma's real-life leading man, didn't join her for a photo op this evening, but we'll see lots of the duo in the months to come.
