The mood of the Grammy Awards was a bit somber this year in the wake of Whitney Houston's shocking death, but the show went on, and the statues were all handed out to the winners. Adele owned the night, picking up multiple awards, including those for record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year.

The 2012 Grammy Awards were all about Adele's major wins and the sad passing of Whitney Houston. After a kickoff from Bruce Springsteen, host LL Cool J led a prayer for Whitney and gave a look back at some of her stellar Grammys performances. Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt honored another late musical star, Etta James, with a song. Bonnie and Alicia also presented best pop solo performance to Adele for "Someone Like You." Adele, who suffered from vocal problems for the last year, appropriately thanked her doctors. Further accolades went to Jay-Z and Kanye West, both absent, for best rap song with "Otis," and Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters picked up best rock performance for "Walk." Bon Iver took home best new artist.

Rihanna and Coldplay teamed up for one of the evening's most memorable duets. Her "We Found Love" segued into Coldplay's "Princess of China" and "Paradise." Another highlight was the long-awaited reunion of the Beach Boys, and they brought back their hit "Good Vibrations" with some help from Adam Levine. Taylor Swift won two honors before the proceedings even began, and later went folksy with her stint behind the mic. Katy Perry, taking a different approach, donned a skintight bodysuit for "Part of Me." Katy changed the words to the track, apparently making a dig at her ex Russell Brand.

Adele was back onstage later in the night with her adorable producer, Paul Epworth, to accept song of the year for "Someone Like You." She made her triumphant return to the microphone with her hit, after a glowing introduction from Gwyneth Paltrow, and received a standing ovation from her big fans like Paul McCartney and Rihanna. The track was also crowned record of the year and her 21 was album of the year! A teary Adele raised her new gold, joked about having a snotty nose, and said to her mother, "Mom, girl did good!"

Jennifer Hudson helped wrap things up with a touching Whitney Houston tribute, belting out "I Will Always Love You." The show was officially closed by Paul McCartney with help from his "friends" like Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, and Bruce Springsteen. Katy Perry Wears Skintight Costume - And Sings About Russell? - At Grammys

Katy Perry's outfit left very little to the imagination as she hit the stage at the Grammys this evening. A Katy Perry impostor kicked off the performance pretending to be Katy singing "ET," before the real pop star emerged to debut her new single, "Part of Me," wearing a latex superhero-esque costume that clung to all her curves. The latter track is being included on the extended re-release of her album Teenage Dream, which means it's not a totally new song, but she did change the lyrics - perhaps to send a message to ex Russell Brand for the award show? Katy apparently rewrote a portion of the song recently to say: "You can keep the diamond ring/It don't mean nothing anyway/In fact you can keep everything/Yeah, yeah, except for me." Katy and Russell's divorce was finalized last week, just about a month after they initially announced their split. Do you think Katy was singing about Russell tonight?

There goes another staple in award season - the Grammys are a wrap! The night was chock-full of performances from standouts like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, but there were a few statuettes passed out between songs.

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy took the opportunity to thank his "beautiful pregnant girlfriend" Kate Hudson while accepting the trophy for best rock album, and Lady Gaga gave props to Whitney Houston in her acceptance speech for best pop album. Lady Antebellum scored big with five golden gramophones, but it was Arcade Fire that won the biggest award of the night, taking home the accolade for album of the year.

The 2011 Grammy award nominations were announced last night in LA during a live televised concert performance. Kanye West took top honors with seven nods, and not far behind was soulful singer Adele with six. Popular artists Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift were also among those recognized - see BuzzSugar's entire list of Grammy award nominees! Lady Gaga, who is up for album of the year, best pop solo performance, and best pop vocal album, opened and closed the show with two of her hot tracks. Usher, Ludacris, and best new artist contender The Band Perry also performed while Katy, Nicki, and other popular musicians announced the nominees. The Grammy awards take place in LA on Feb. 12, and hopefully, ailing singer Adele will be fully recovered from recent throat surgery to take part in the show.

For the second year in a row, the Recording Academy has given a hip-hop artist the most Grammy nominations. Last year, it was rapper Eminem with eight, and this year, Kanye West leads the nominees with seven chances at the golden gramophone, including a song of the year nod for "All of the Lights." West is also nominated twice in the rap album of the year category for his collaboration with Jay-Z on Watch the Throne and his own album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Brit crooner Adele wasn't far behind Kanye, picking up six nominations for her album 21, as well as a shot at song of the year with "Rolling in the Deep."

Bruno Mars also did well, racking up six nominations (that's down one from last year for those keeping track), while newcomers like Nicki Minaj and dubstep artist Skrillex are up for the best new artist category. Sofia Vergara, Usher, Zoe Saldana, and More Spice Up the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas

The annual Latin Grammys in Las Vegas last night got a dose of star power with appearances from Zoe Saldana, Sofia Vergara, Demi Lovato, Usher, and others. Zoe made a statement in a bold green Elie Saab gown after Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out in a similar dress by the designer yesterday. Sofia and Zoe shared the stage to present an award while Demi took the microphone for a performance with singer Pablo Alboran. Shakira was one of the evening's big winners, since she grabbed the awards for Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Album. She topped off her exciting night by singing "Antes de las Seis" from her Sale El Sol album. Pitbull and Marc Anthony got together for "Rain Over Me" while Usher showed off his Spanish-speaking skills during a duet with Antony Santos. It was Usher's first time at the show, and he celebrated with an "epic" afterparty at Haze nightclub.
