After breaking Christmastime records last week, audiences once again put the adorably naughty pup in the top spot at the box office over the weekend. Marley & Me, starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson, earned an estimated $24 million "for a cume of $106.5 million in only 11 days."
In second place came Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories followed by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in third, Valkyrie in fourth and Yes Man in fifth.

Oh, Marley, that insanely profitable little scamp! The cute dog movie had the best Christmas Day opening ever and grossed a total of $51.7 million over the four-day weekend. According to Variety, Marley & Me "played more to females, as well as to older moviegoers.

When Adam Sandler uses his talents for cuteness (as opposed to, say, Zohan) it can be so good. I've enjoyed watching him work with kids in the past — I can never resist Big Daddy when it's on TV, and I think he shines in the scenes with his tween daughter in Spanglish. Now I'm happy to see him at the center of a new Disney movie that looks completely adorable.

- The Kennedy Center will honor Steve Martin this Sunday, Dec. 2, reports Variety.
- According to ComingSoon, HBO will make a Barry Bonds movie based on the book Game of Shadows.
- Reuters has news that Keri Russell will join Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories, a fantastical family movie directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray).
- The Hollywood Reporter states that John Cusack will go back to doing the psychological thriller thing as he joins the cast of The Factory.
- The 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's album Thriller will be marked with a new edition of the set including remixes by Kanye West, Akon and will.i.am, writes Billboard.
- It's a banner week for Elizabeth Berkeley: Fresh off winning a recurring role on CSI: Miami, she'll also be the host of Bravo's new dance show, according to Variety.
- Pitchfork reports that Portishead will finally release a third album — 10 years after the group's last record.
