Even the dark strike cloud hovering over Hollywood can't dampen the annual awards season excitement about certain projects and actors (Juno! Daniel Day-Lewis! Atonement!).

All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. In addition to these titles, the big DVD releases today include the 3rd season of "Grey's Anatomy," the second season of "Supernatural" as well as the second season of "Bones."

I went into the Away From Her movie screening with a stack of tissues, fully prepared to bawl my eyes out over this story about a marriage being tested by Alzheimer's. Yet the sobfest never happened. The story is mostly sad, it's true, but it is also realistically told and casts an unapologetic light on each character.

Already playing in select theaters, Away From Her has been slowly gaining buzz from its screenings at various film festivals for its flawless performances and beautiful direction. Directed by first-timer Sarah Polley, the movie tells a poignant tale of a long-term marriage being tested by Alzheimer's. This movie has been repeatedly popping up in my day-to-day conversations and I keep seeing rave reviews for it, so I've taken the hint: it's time to see this film.

Amanda Seyfried's latest film Letters to Juliet looks like a mash up of her other work. First off, her character's name is Sophie, which brings Mamma Mia to mind, as does the romantic foreign locale. But even the title itself made me do a double-take — wait, isn't she already doing a book-turned-film about letters called Dear John?!

Well, kind of. The days of Oprah Winfrey's talk show may be numbered, but don't expect her to disappear anytime soon. Just a few days after her big announcement, the media mogul already has a project with HBO in the works — and she's kicking things up a notch.

Maybe it's because Glee set the bar so high last week, or maybe it's the lack of Sue, but this week's episode just didn't do it for me. There are plenty of catchy tunes, but Rachel's all-of-a-sudden crush on Mr. Schue seems a bit forced, and it seems ridiculous that Will and Emma are best buddies again with no mention of their dramatic encounters from a few weeks ago.
It does have some touching moments (along with some sad ones) for Finn and Quinn, so to get into it just read more

The Tuesday night CW block made a particularly strong showing this week. Personally, I thought 90210 had one of its best episodes of the season — nice character development, a few teary moments, and some "oh no she didn't" disses. And as for Melrose Place, I've got two words for you: Heather Locklear.

They're baaaaack! This week on Grey's Anatomy, Meredith, and Izzie make their returns to Seattle Grace/Mercy West, though only Mere is back in scrubs. Izzie heads back to the hospital with her favorite high-school teacher in tow, a sweet guy who's suffering from what appears to be dementia and is constantly referring to Izzie as a pregnant teen.
