- I'm devastated by the news about Jeffrey Dean Morgan's split from Mary-Louise Parker, though JDM has some good news to console him: he's been cast alongside Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst in All Good Things, according to Hollywood Reporter.
- Variety reports that Robert DeNiro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell will star together in the family comedy Everybody's Fine.
- Before there's even a High School Musical 3, they're working on a fourth one! Though ComingSoon reports that No. 4 will be another TV movie, not released theatrically.
- If you want to be all nerdy-like (I sure did), the Wall Street Journal has posted a downloadable version of the Project Runway lawsuit.
- Yet another time I wish I were in Seattle: the Bumbershoot Festival lineup looks fantastic, with Beck, Stone Temple Pilots, Neko Case and M.

After a night of strong performances on Wednesday, Thursday's So You Think You Can Dance results show delivered a few surprises — at least when it came to the dancers who ended up in the bottom three. Aliens and chains and vampires, oh my! The top 14 dancers on So You Think You Can Dance delivered one of the more eclectic sets of routines of the season — if not the whole series — on Wednesday, with props and quirky characters galore. A few dancers stood out, but nobody fell completely flat, which should make Thursday's results show an interesting one.

The reason to see Public Enemies is the same as the reason to see any Johnny Depp movie: Johnny Depp. The story is engaging enough — there's plenty of sputtering machine gun shoot-outs and exciting escape plans and dashes of romance — but the actual enjoyment of watching this movie comes from Johnny Depp in a role he's naturally gifted at playing: the dark, mysterious rebel.
Depp plays John Dillinger, a bank robber who has gained a certain celebrity status with the public.

It's only just July, but things are already heating up on the Gossip Girl set, as the show has just cast another new love interest for a major character. First came news of Joanna Garcia's guest role last week, and now it's Hilary Duff's turn.
Duff has been cast as Olivia Burke, a movie star who comes to NYU seeking a normal college experience and ends up as Vanessa's roommate.

I'm constantly amazed by how quickly So You Think You Can Dance sheds its dancers. Just a couple of weeks ago, we met our top 20 for the year; now, we're already down to 14. After Thursday's results show, two more dancers headed home — but which two didn't get your votes?

Hey Mickey! Toni Basil made her return to the judging panel for Wednesday's episode of So You Think You Can Dance, and I've got to ask: Do she and Mary Murphy hate each other? They were sitting so far apart at that judging table, you'd think they were Jon and Kate.

The truth is, no matter what I or anyone else says about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, audiences around the globe will flock to see it. I mean, duh — it's big, it's shiny, it goes boom, and it has boobs. It's just what the doctor ordered for audiences looking for some good old-fashioned Hollywood escapism just when it's getting too hot to use our brains.

New episodes of a network TV show that's not canceled airing in the Summer? How is that even possible? I don't know what was behind ABC's choice to air new episodes of Better Off Ted starting this week — but whatever it was, I'll take it!
