The Avengers is already shattering records at the box office, but you can still re-live the fun (or get another glimpse), with even more new stills from the film. Get another peek at the film's familiar faces - that is, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

New Amazing Spider-Man Trailer: 3 Reasons to Watch

I know we've already seen a couple of trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man, but the latest one is still definitely worth watching. In the midst of footage we've seen before, like Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield)'s romance with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), there's also a lot of fresh stuff. More specifically, there's more action, more villainy, and a little more humor. Here are three reasons you should check it out:

More Spidey sass. We already knew that Garfield's Peter Parker loves a good wisecrack, and here his sarcasm is on display again, as he reveals a fear of small knives. I have to give credit to Marc Webb for remembering that even geeky teens can be obnoxious.
A better look at the Lizard. The flashes of Dr. Connors, aka The Lizard, are still brief, but this preview provides a better idea of what we're in for. Specifically, just how big (and kind of scary) this guy is.
More intrigue. I've always been curious about Peter's parents, since the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies don't really touch on the topic at all, and I'm looking forward to getting some answers in The Amazing Spider-Man. Not only does this new trailer tease that secrets will be revealed, but it suggests that Peter was destined to be Spidey all along.

The Avengers: Assemble For Awesomeness

Ensemble romantic comedies are a dime a dozen these days, and let's face it: most of those star-studded flicks aren't even that good. But an ensemble superhero movie? Now that's an idea I can get behind. The Avengers rounds up an all-star group of comic book heroes who must get over their inflated egos and differences to take down a villain and save the world. It's a simple enough concept, and the combination of eye-popping special effects, humor, and a stellar cast makes for one hell of a blockbuster movie.

The cast of characters - and each one is very much a character in their own right - is mostly composed of people you've seen before and are happy to welcome back. There's Chris Evans as Captain America, whose situation as a '50s guy living in a 2012 world is funny to the audience, if not to him. Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Iron Man, and his wisecracks and borderline obnoxious behavior carry the film and much of the dialogue; Chris Hemsworth is back as demigod Thor, though his role feels a bit downplayed in the midst of the rest of the hubbub. Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner return as Nick Fury, Black Widow and Hawkeye, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who kick butt but are never really as much fun as their power-wielding cohorts. The only guy who's new to the group is Mark Ruffalo, who takes on the role of Bruce Banner (aka The Hulk) for the first time, and Ruffalo's so quietly engaging that you won't even remember Eric Bana or Edward Norton in the role.

To see what else is great about The Avengers, just

Taking on this team of good guys is Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor's maniacal brother who's literally plotting world domination. His quick wit and completely deluded view of the world make him a layered villain who's incredibly fun to hate. The fun doesn't even stop there: the film is chock-full of cameos and appearances from characters from The Avengers prequels, which is an added bonus for fans that have been following The Avengers since the beginning. You don't need to be a fanatic to enjoy the movie though; the film has nods to the previous films but it still makes for a nice introduction to each of the characters as they're rounded up one by one.

Writer/director Joss Whedon goes from Buffy to the big leagues here, and he masterfully puts together a film that goes big, but doesn't let action overshadow the script. The dialogue is packed with so many one-liners that you'll likely miss half of them because the audience is still laughing at the most recent joke. Though the humor pretty much writes itself with characters like these, Whedon is wise to make it obvious that the film doesn't take itself too seriously.

The action sequences are also handled with care; the fight scenes don't linger too long, and most of the scenes showcase each of the Avengers, which helps keep the pace moving right along. I'm not usually one to gush over special effects, but I literally gasped when Mark Ruffalo transforms into The Hulk for the first time. The scene, in a way, is like the film's secret weapon. The first transformation is teased throughout most of the movie, and the suspense builds to a moment that feels perfectly constructed to grab the audience by the throat.

The only downside to The Avengers is that with so many characters, you just wish you could spend a little more time with each of your favorites. The good news is that we'll probably be hanging out with them in many sequels to come.

The Expendables 2 Trailer: Liam Hemsworth Shoots and Scores

The bad boys of The Expendables are back in the trailer for the sequel, and this time they have a hot, new secret weapon: Liam Hemsworth. Given that the original film features action stars of many decades (including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, and Chuck Norris), it seems fitting that they've made room for the Hunger Games star as their latest edition (fun fact: Hemsworth was originally cast in the first film, but his part was cut). In The Expendables 2, Hemsworth joins the gang as a sniper named Billy the Kid as they face down a villain played by Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Don't try to follow too much of the story in the trailer, though; it's mostly a mélange of shoot-'em-up sequences, fistfights, and explosions. It's not that it's not fun, however, and it's definitely worth the watch to see Hemsworth in action star mode. The movie comes out on Aug. 17, and you can check out the trailer when you

New Trailer For The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Things to Get Excited About

The third (and most likely final) trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is here, and it's just as eerie as the first two. However, there's a lot of new footage here and plenty of new clues about what we're in for when the film hits theaters July 20. Here are the top five reasons we're excited about the latest preview:

Joseph Gordon-Levitt does, in fact, speak in this movie. We're still not entirely sure about JGL's role in this film, other than the fact that he'll play a cop, but at least now we see more of him in action. This is the first time we've heard any of his lines, and it appears that he'll be one of the good guys - and maybe even in cahoots with Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle. Which brings me to my next point . . .
Catwoman might not be a villain. We've all assumed that Selina would be another nemesis for Batman (Christian Bale), but now it appears that she might be a new sidekick instead. Not only does she seem sympathetic to Bruce Wayne, but she voluntarily gets in the batmobile. Perhaps we were a little too quick to accuse her of grand theft batpod.
The batmobile takes flight. That's right - Batman's ride has always been pretty badass, but now it can actually fly!
Bane (Tom Hardy) might be understandable after all. Granted, he doesn't speak too much in this preview, but I still found him to be a lot easier to understand in this trailer than he's been in the past.
Bruce Wayne and Miranda Tate lock lips. Bye bye Maggie Gyllenhaal, hello Marion Cotillard. Cotillard's Miranda still doesn't have any lines in this preview, but we do see her and Bruce in a pretty serious embrace. I'm grateful for a bit of lightness in the midst of all this terrorism, but it does raise a new question - if Selina isn't a villain, might we have a love triangle on our hands?

Total Recall Trailer: Colin Farrell Is a Futuristic Fugitive

The remake of Total Recall is heading into theaters this Summer, with Colin Farrell taking on the role of Doug Quaid (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1990 original). Set in a futuristic society, the movie follows Doug, a factory worker who decides to check out a mysterious place called Rekall to get a break from his daily life and have his fantasies implanted as memories. His little mind vacation is interrupted when a white-haired John Cho freaks out and stops the procedure, suspecting Doug as a spy. Doug is confused, and even more so when he suddenly has super-spy skills, like wasting every soldier who tries to stop him. When he gets home to his lovely wife (Kate Beckinsale), it turns out that she's also different, and trying to kill Doug too.

I'm admittedly not a huge fan of the '90s sci-fi flick, but this trailer is so action-packed that I'm interested, and the special effects look absolutely fantastic in this preview. And it certainly does not hurt that Farrell looks great kicking butt and taking names. Kristen Stewart Speaks, Leaps, and Rides in the New Trailer For Snow White and the Huntsman

If the first Snow White and the Huntsman trailer left you jonesing to see more of Kristen Stewart, then this new preview for the film should be a treat. Once again we're taken inside director Rupert Sanders's very dark reimagining of the fairy tale, where the evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) is going to great lengths to stay young (when she isn't bursting into a flock of crows in the dark forest). We've already seen lots of Theron, though, so the real excitement here is seeing more focus on Stewart as Snow White.

As expected, Stewart is looking pretty badass here: she cliff jumps, rides horses, and puts her fighting skills to the test as she defends her life - and her heart - from the Queen. There's also a glimpse of the iconic kiss, though Prince William (Sam Claflin) doesn't appear much more than that here. Suffice to say, the film's Summer release date can't get here soon enough for me.

Watch Michael Fassbender Discover an Alien Problem in the Prometheus Trailer

The first teaser for Prometheus really didn't give much away about Ridley Scott's latest film in the Alien series, but the new trailer tells a bit more of the story and gives you a look at the sci-fi flick's good-looking stars. Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, and Noomi Rapace are part of a team of scientists and explorers looking for the origin of man on another planet, but they find much more than that - and it does not appear to bode well for the survival of the group.

The alien life is presumably the predecessor to the ones that stalked Sigourney Weaver and co. in the Alien films, but you don't get to see any creatures in this preview. I'm OK with that, though, because the music in the trailer gets so terrifying and stressful toward the end of the clip that it's enough to freak me out. Watch for yourself after the jump.

Dark Tide Trailer: Halle Berry Goes Swimming With Sharks

If you miss Shark Week all year, perk up, because the Dark Tide trailer is here. Halle Berry plays Kate, a shark expert who stopped swimming with the fearsome creatures when her mentor was attacked and killed by a great white. Her fear is enough to keep her out of the ocean until she gets the opportunity to revisit the shark-infested waters on the dime of a danger-seeking businessman, alongside her ex-boyfriend (Olivier Martinez).

Any movie with a great white baring its teeth brings up my lifelong Jaws fear, but the movie feels like a cheesy sequel to Into the Blue or The Deep Blue Sea, only with the inclusion of an Oscar winner. Berry is a great actress, but it doesn't look like she's flexing her acting muscles so much as her ab muscles. To see Berry in her bikini and facing down sharks, just keep reading.
