What Movie Do You Want to See as a Video Game?

It's usually easy to predict which movies will become movies, like the Harry Potter series. Other times, it's a little confounding (Juno?!), and I'm surprised but pleased to learn of the new Wizard of Oz game for the Nintendo DS.

The 3D role-playing game is based on the book and the subsequent movie, and though it seems like a bit precious, it actually looks pretty cool.

So since you guys were so good at identifying which video games became movies, I want to bend your brains some more by getting your input.

If you could see any movie turned into a video game (that hasn't yet, natch), what would it be? Twilight? Bruno? The Hangover?

We're Off to See the CG-Animated Wizard of Oz

Just as we're getting a Three Stooges movie for a new generation of moviegoers, The Wizard of Oz will also be reappearing on the big screen - in CG animation. The $25 million project is backed by a French production company and will be based on Frank Baum's original novel.

The Variety article adds, "The English-language adaptation maintains the tale's main characters and settings. Unlike the MGM classic, however, it's not a musical."

On the one hand, with today's animation technology, the possibilities are limitless for what Oz might look like, and that could be awesome. On the other hand, do we need another Wizard of Oz movie? Is this messing with a classic? What do you think?

The Munchkins of Oz finally got their own Walk of Fame star in Hollywood after 68 years, Reuters reports.
The Hollywood Reporter has news that Lauren Ambrose will voice a creature in Where the Wild Things Are, replacing Michelle Williams.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Put on a Steamy Show For the Rainforest Fund

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan stole the show at last night's concert for the Rainforest Fund, held inside NYC's Carnegie Hall. The hot couple took the stage for a dance routine, with Jenna looking hot in a red wrap dress and Channing dapper in a porkpie hat. They shared the stage with singing legends like Elton John, Sting, Jennifer Hudson, and James Taylor. There was another special duet in store for Channing - Channing and Elton gyrated together for a rendition of "Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend."

Meryl Streep also lent her voice to the show, teaming up with Sting and Elton for The Wizard of Oz's "If I Only Had a Brain." President Bill Clinton even emerged to say a few words. The Rainforest concert is an annual event organized by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. Sting and Trudie led the celebrity guests to an afterparty at the Pierre Hotel that featured an auction, where someone paid $26,000 to have Tom Hanks record their voice mail message.

Seann dished that he wanted to make the bachelor party a memorable night, so he invited porn star Bridget Powers, also known as "Bridget the Midget." His other brother, Dave Scott, took an intimate liking to the little person, and for better or worse, he's become known for the sexual encounter. A "Tortilly Adorable" Turtle Party to Raise Awareness For a Serious Issue

In this race, it's the tortoise that always wins! When party planner extraordinaire Kate Landers got over the shock of her newborn son's plagiocephaly (a flattened spot on the back or side of the head) and torticollis (shortened or damaged neck muscles) diagnoses, she knew she had to use her talents to raise more awareness of the issues. Known for her detail-oriented birthday parties (this was the Wizard of Oz soiree and an ice cream party she shared with us), she got to work on a party that celebrated baby Noah's new helmet. She explained:

I decided to throw a party! This party was not only to debut his helmet to our immediate family, but also to educate them on his condition, share the physical therapy exercises they can do when taking care of Noah, and provide creative answers to give people should they ask about Noah and his helmet. Planning this party was great therapy for me, and I hope planning a helmet party might be therapeutic for others as well (especially as there are other medical conditions that offer helmet therapy)!

Lots of moms like to think out loud, and MiaFT is one of them. This is an excerpt from one of the latest posts on her Baby Love blog.

So this is what Audrey is going to get this year for Christmas! Yes, I went a little overboard, but I couldn't help myself!

So let me give you a rundown of all of her loot. As you can see, I hit the Disney Store...hard! I bought her both nightgowns for Snow White and Belle, as well as the Animators' dolls. I also bought the Mrs. Potts tea set, from Beauty and the Beast, as well as the movie itself. It's her new favorite. I recorded it recently, and she is in love!

How cute is the little red rocking horse....I mean, moose? She saw that at Ikea and we literally had to tear her off kicking and screaming. She is going to love it! I'm sure she'll be on it all Christmas Day.

I also shopped at Buy Buy Baby and got some great stuff! The cutest Melissa and Doug clock puzzle. What a great toy! On this one little toy she can learn about numbers, shapes, colors, and time. I challenge you to find a more educational toy. I also picked up the Melissa and Doug mailbox. She is always fascinated by the mailboxes we pass on the street. I think she'll love having her own! I picked up a cute little Wizard of Oz book, which is kind of for me since it still is my favorite movie ever. Oh and I got her a VTech digital camera. Yes, you read that right, a digital camera. It is only $40, so don't think I'm crazy. But it is built kid-proof, and can actually take pictures and videos. I am looking forward to seeing the world through her little eyes!

Finally, I stopped at Kohl's. I got a little fish tank lamp. She is in love with fish (since her Nemo phase) and it will be much easier than getting a real fish tank that would have to be cleaned. While I was there, I also picked up their Nancy Tillman hardcover books. They are part of Kohl's Cares. They only cost $5 each and 100 percent of the profits will support kids' health and education initiatives in communities nationwide. It's a great deal, and it helps others. And books make the best gifts!

Christmas is really for the kids, and I can't wait to see her smiling face on Christmas Day! I guess now I have to start shopping for everyone else on my list...
