Music Video: She & Him, "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?"

When I saw She & Him play a live show here in San Francisco, Zooey Deschanel sounded great but seemed a bit nervous to be performing in front of such a large crowd. In this first video of a song off her album with M. Ward, those stage jitters are nowhere to be found. Instead we get to see the quirky, ironic Zoe we've come to know and love onscreen.

"Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?" is such a cute song and the video made me laugh out loud, mostly due to the strange animated creatures and a smiling Zoe frolicking together in an otherwise dark little world (see: animated blood spilling out from an oft-murdered Zoe).

I won't give anymore away; to check it out for yourself,

6 Tips to Ace Your Next Job Interview

Given the late-winter thaw showing up in what has been an ice-cold job market, many workers are pondering a topic they haven't worried much about lately - job interviews. Here are my favorite interview tips for job candidates, from new grads to ultra-experienced hires:

Collect personal contact information. As you meet each new person in your interview lineup, ask him or her for a business card. Do it the minute you're introduced, before you sit down, or you're likely to forget. Since lots of people don't carry business cards in their pockets while they're at work, be ready with pen and paper to take down each person's name and contact information if no business card is handy. You'll need to know the names, titles and e-mail addresses for each person you meet, so you can compose and send a customized thank-you note to each of them.

Tell personal stories. When you're asked the standard interview questions, use stories to make your accomplishments come to life. You don't have to wait for the interviewer to ask you a “story question,” such as "Tell me about a time when you worked with a difficult customer." You can give a story-type answer to any interview question. If the question is "Have you been using FrameMaker very long?" your answer can begin, "You know, once we were under the gun to get some documentation done for a version of the product that was custom-built for one client. I hadn't used FrameMaker for that sort of thing before, so I pulled out the manual and began reading . . . " It's a great goal to tell two or three pithy, human stories in each job interview, to bring your talent to life and to get out of the zero-impact "yes, no, somewhat" rut.

Zoom in on the employer’s pain. In 2011, it's not enough to let an employer know that you've got skills X, Y and Z. You have to make it clear that you've faced down the same dragon the employer is facing now, and that means you've got to know which sort of dragon is circling the castle. Float a pain hypothesis early on in the interview - something like, "My take is that you're looking to get sales leads assigned and acted on more quickly after trade shows. Is that the biggest area you're looking for this new hire to handle, or am I missing something major?" Once you and the hiring manager are talking about the business issues and not the often-irrelevant list of job requirements, your conversation will become much more substantive and fun.

9 Must Dos For a Good Night's Rest

When I don't get enough undisturbed sleep each night - and for me that means at least seven hours - I am one huge crank pot. I'm irritable, foggy-headed, and it messes up my whole day because I'm usually too tired to exercise. I'm also more likely to reach for sweet treats as pick-me-ups. Aside from the proper amount of sleep keeping you happy, proper sleep increases brain function and promotes weight loss. If you lose out on sleep, it could lead to high-blood pressure and increase your chance of dying from heart disease.

A person needs between seven and nine hours of sleep each night, so here are some tips for making that happen.

Exercise daily and finish exercising at least three hours before bedtime. You don't need to go overboard and sprint five miles every day, but make sure you get up and move, even if it's to go for a walk. Using up energy by exercising will help you feel more tired when your head hits the pillow. Just be sure not to work out right before hitting the hay since it can take your body three to four hours to cool down its temperature and lower your heart rate, according to Women's Health

No cat napping. If you're tired during the day, it's tempting to curl up on the couch and drift off for 20 minutes. Although a nap might give you energy in the afternoon, you'll end up having a harder time falling asleep later that night. Skip the nap and head to bed earlier.

Turn off the gadgets before bed. That means no web surfing, no emailing, no texting, no video games, and no one-more-episode-of-The-Office TV watching before you hit the sheets. Why? The light and content can be too stimulating, making it more difficult for your brain to wind down and fall asleep. Also studies show that texting in bed can cause anxiety.

How to Stay Healthy and Fit on the Road

Sometimes I feel like I live out of my suitcase more than my house! When traveling for pleasure, it's liberating to step away from my structured daily routine and just let the days unfold naturally. But being away from my schedule can often throw a huge wrench in my fitness regime - "Why yes I'd love to go to the beach rather than spend an hour on the treadmill!"

Thankfully for the state of my overall health and well-being, I no longer use the "can't exercise because I'm traveling excuse." Rather than try to replicate workouts - which is impossible to do - I get creative and use what's around me. . . whether that's a tennis court, a pool, or rental bikes. On Fit, we want to give you lots of options for staying healthy while traveling, so here are some noteworthy articles to keep as a handy reference.

8 Do-Anywhere Exercises: If you find yourself in a situation when you want a full-body workout but are limited by locale, try these eight exercises including seated sweeping leg lift and standing booty kicks. Your heart will be pumping, muscles worked, and all without the use of any equipment!
