In the trailer for Woody Allen's next movie, Whatever Works, Larry David's character Boris insists that "this is not the feel-good movie of the year." While that may be true, I feel pretty good after watching it! I don't know if it's the great cast (which includes Patricia Clarkson, Evan Rachel Wood, and Ed Begley Jr., among others), Allen's writing and direction, or just Larry David's delivery, but I found myself laughing quite a lot at the preview for this bizarre-looking film.

Just minutes ago at the Fox portion of the Winter TCA, Simon Cowell himself took the stage to confirm that the upcoming season of American Idol will be his last. As expected, Cowell's focus will be shifted to launching the American version of X Factor, which is slated to premiere on Fox in 2011. Cowell even signed his new contract on the stage for all of the press to see.

Amy Adams takes a break from Oscar-nominated roles this weekend to star as the female lead in the romantic comedy Leap Year, about a woman who decides to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, citing Irish tradition (watch the trailer here). I had a chance to chat with the actress about the movie, her character, and the odd conventions of marriage proposals.
- On why she chose this project: I've been looking for a romantic comedy because they're films I always go see, so I wanted to do one.

As most of you know by now, I can't wait for Chuck to return to NBC in January. After a dramatic second season and a near-cancellation, I'm dying to see how the writers will re-invigorate the spy show in hopes to secure a more permanent home on the network. A few days ago Zachary Levi jumped on a conference call, along with creator Josh Schwartz and writer Chris Fedak.

It's a Christmas miracle! After an uber disappointing storyline on The Office last week, this week saw a return to funny jokes that made me laugh out loud. The Dunder Mifflin crew is celebrating their holiday with a Secret Santa swap, and Phyllis dresses up as old St.

Clint Eastwood's Invictus may appeal to some as a historical story about Nelson Mandela; others will see it as another sports movie about a rugby team. Whatever the reason for heading to the theater, the film has the unique ability to take the audience on a journey that will leave you cheering when it's all over — even if the story seems familiar.
Invictus takes us to South Africa in 1994, the year that Nelson Mandela took the presidency after spending 27 years in prison.

I've been anxiously anticipating Jason Reitman's third film, Up in the Air, from the moment I first read about the project. With George Clooney on board I was practically giddy, so imagine how excited I was to have the opportunity to talk to the director himself when he stopped in San Francisco during his promotional tour.
The film is one of the many buzz-worthy December movies, and it opens in limited release this Friday.

Scrubs is finally back tonight, but not without a complete Sacred Heart shakeup: founding star Zach Braff will only appear in a handful of episodes at the beginning of the season, but to cushion the blow, we'll meet three brand new characters. The newbies include Dave Franco (yes, James's younger bro), who plays one of the new med students mentored by Turk, Donald Faison's character.
I'm super excited about the changes on the show and very curious about the new focus — so it was lucky that I was treated to a chat this week with Franco and Faison about what the new characters and roles mean for Scrubs this season.
