Ted Gibson Says, For a DIY Hair Conditioner, Just Add Beer

Today on the What Not to Wear Facebook page, Ted Gibson shared an easy-peasy DIY tip for deep conditioning your hair at home.

First, prepare a mixture of mayonnaise, avocado, and a little beer. Apply it evenly to wet hair, leaving it on for 30 minutes. Then rinse, without using shampoo. It's as simple as that, so try it out and tell us what you think of Gibson's three-ingredient hair treatment.

TV Tonight: What Not to Wear Takes on Blossom

A lot of the women who end up on TLC's What Not to Wear are stuck wearing the style of a certain decade, and it becomes Stacy and Clinton's job to snap them out of it. I'm always curious how these women come to cling to styles of decades past, whether it's a steadfast commitment to acid-washed jeans or an unwillingness to give up the Doc Martens. But it's pretty clear how the makeover recipient on tonight's season premiere came to get stuck in her style rut, considering that, well, she once played Blossom.

That's right: Mayim Bialik is tonight's guest! In the episode, she claims she dresses the way she does because she's a busy mom with kids, which is a totally fair (and true) excuse. However, once Stacy and Clinton dig into her wardrobe, they discover she's still wearing clothes from her days playing the teenage style icon (or style tragedy, depending on your point of view, but my point of view is that I owned a Blossom-style hat with a big ol' flower on it).

I was a little skeptical when I previewed this episode. I didn't want Stacy and Clinton to turn Bialik into a cookie-cutter Hollywood type. Happily, they totally show her how to update her trademark look so that it fits her current lifestyle. She ends up looking cute and age-appropriate, and it's loads of nostalgic fun.

TV Tonight: "Shut Up! It's Stacy London"

As a dedicated fan of "What Not to Wear," I was thrilled to hear that Stacy London, the show's fashion diva, is getting her own talk show. But the even better news is that we don't have to wait till the fall to check it out. TLC is showing a "sneak peek" of the premiere episode of the show tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, right after a special behind-the-scenes episode of "What Not to Wear." Among the guests dropping by tonight: Jane Krakowski of "30 Rock," Lisa Rinna, and shoe designer Kristin Lee.

I'm excited to see how London's bubbly-yet-snarky personality translates to a talk show format, and I can never get enough Jane Krakowski, so I'll be tuning in for sure. Now, we just need to get the incredibly lovable Clinton Kelly a show, too - maybe a cameo on "Project Runway"? And hey, whatever happened to original "What Not to Wear" co-host Wayne Scot Lukas, anyway?

The Office, "Special Project": Best Lines of The Night

In this week's episode of The Office, Dwight has been chosen to spearhead a three-week assignment in Tallahassee. He's putting together "a competent team" that will assist him on the mission, setting up a number of new Sabre locations. Half the episode deals with various relationship issues, and the rest is essentially an audition for the team that will head to Florida. There are some important plot points revealed: Val and Darryl vaguely express their feelings for each other, and Erin tells us she wants to head to Florida for good. While "Special Project" definitely has potential, this week just kind of landed flat for me.

Regardless, there are a few funny moments that stood out in my mind. To read a few of my fave lines from "Special Project," just keep reading.

Peter Som Fall 2012

Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich served as Peter Som's inspiration for his Fall 2012 collection - specifically, their knack for exuding femininity even when they donned menswear. The show started with a pretty ode to Winter white - monochromatic outfits got a textural punch thanks to cool fabric combinations like wool with organza. The play between masculine and feminine came through via tailoring and textures: streamlined silhouettes were softened with details like eyelet and bonded satin. There were strong sculptural references in the ultra-fitted tops that suddenly burst into waves of peplum, and wrap jackets structured with molded balloon sleeves. And what of the glamour that Hollywood icons like Hepburn and Dietrich were famous for? It came through in the luxe furs, particularly a teal fur coat over a twill voile pant that glimmered under the runway lights.

Trends: Multicolored fur, balloon sleeves, peplum, architectural silhouettes.
Colors: Plum, emerald, ivory, ruby.
Key Piece: The peplum tops are a must have for their mix of fantastic tailoring and femininity.
Accessories: Aperlai did the shoes, including two-tone pumps.
Who Would Wear It: Olivia Palermo sat front row, and we bet she'll be wearing the peplum tops next season. Confident, fashion-loving girls who crave a statement piece will dig this collection.

Neon hues have dominated the recent runways, but the joltingly bright shade can be a little intimidating to pull off in everyday life, especially considering how often we wear black! To make the trend more wearable in everyday life, we worked with our partners at Gap for an easy styling solution that incorporates just a touch of neon for a big impact. Our FabSugar TV host, Allison McNamara, has a basic rule for neon: pair it with solid, neutral tones and keep the silhouette clean. For a downtown edgy look, she layered a neon tee under a gray top and cream blazer, and paired it with slick leather pants. For a more feminine take that's great for the office, she substituted a full black skirt for the pants, and chose a pink v-neck to wear under the cream blazer. Her sophisticated, but insanely easy-to-wear looks prove that neon isn't an '80s leftover; rather, it's a fresh way to brighten up a neutral outfit. Seeking a Friend For the End of the World Trailer: Steve Carell Finds Keira Knightley

In Seeking a Friend For the End of the World, Steve Carell plays Dodge, a man facing the reality that an asteroid is about the destroy the earth and he, along with everyone else, has to figure out what to do with the last three weeks of his life. For people like Patton Oswalt's character, it's sleeping with as man people as possible, but for regretful Dodge, it's love. When he meets his pixie-ish neighbor, played by Keira Knightley, she takes it upon herself to help Dodge find the girl that got away, if he helps her see her family before the world ends.

The trailer is very funny, considering its bleak subject matter (I giggled at Melanie Lynskey's character wearing all the clothes she never had a chance to wear), and Carell is the perfect leading man for the dark comedy. I'm especially curious to see what his chemistry with Knightley is like, and even though the title and what we see in the trailer implies it's just a friendship, it seems like something romantic must come up - the world is ending, after all. The original vampire family hosts a ball on this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, and the whole town puts on their finest formal wear for the event of the supernatural season. Elena has two dates to the event, but it's her date to meet the original witch that gives us insight into what's in store for Klaus and his siblings.

Speaking of Klaus, we get some developments between him and Caroline that are sweet and promising (even if she's a bit cautious to date him because of his cruelty in the past and general bloodlust). Deriving inspiration from craftsmen - mechanics, cobblers, and (much more obviously) leathermen, Cynthia Rowley's own Fall craftsmanship honed in on these artists with a succinctly modern and much sportier interpretation. Save for denim on denim suiting or brilliant colored leather, there's not too much literal interpretation, but rather a cool collection of womanly, curve-conscious design married with menswear-inspired structure. We're treated to bold all-over prints washed over body-skimming sheaths, skinny pants, and even gloves. And while a tougher, boxier leather jacket lined in shearling might pinpoint Rowley's craftsmen influences, what takes shape is still definitively for the girls.
