Buzz Lines: What's Your Favorite Line From Wet Hot American Summer?

There may be no wacky camp comedy in history as quotable as the cult classic Wet Hot American Summer (until the forthcoming Wet Hot sequel, that is). We are often caught scribbling Gene's inappropriate food-based musings in our gournals as we try to remember if the reunion is at 9:00 or 9:30 (we hope it's 9:00 because we have something at 11:00.) Here are a couple of our favorite lines, but tell us - what are yours?

'80s Throwback! 10 Movies That Pay Homage to the Decade

Who doesn't love a good '80s movie? The shoulder pads, the hair bands, the abnormally large cell phones - many Hollywood films have tried to recreate the feeling of the era through film, including this week's release Take Me Home Tonight. The film's cast already had fun re-enacting classic '80s film scenes, but it got me thinking about other films that pay tribute to the beloved decade. Here are 10 of the most memorable!

What's Buzzworthy: Movies to Watch in the Summer

Last weekend I asked you guys to Buzzworthy the movies you love to watch this time of year because they give you that warm summertime feeling. I mentioned Summer School, Dirty Dancing, and National Lampoon's Vacation, giving examples of a teen beachy movie, a sweaty summer-of-love movie, and a hilarious movie about a family vacation gone awry. You all reminded me of other great titles I'd completely forgotten about, but now I'm updating my Netflix queue to make it a little more June-appropriate. Here are some of my favorite Buzzworthied summertime flicks:

Jaws
Ah, the summertime classic! As gruaig_rua reminds us, "You'll never go in the water again."

Cocktail
mellie_608 says this about her pick: "'Aruba, Jamaica, ooooh I wanna take you.....' A movie made better by a great soundtrack; Kokomo, Hippy Hippy Shake, Don't Worry be Happy, All Shook up. This is the Tom Cruise I enjoy watching!"

Stand By Me
Fab_Kitty selected this movie about the power of friendship, which could have also worked for my tearjerker movies Buzzworthy challenge. Fab_Kitty says, "This movie gets me every time. Bonus: A cameo by John Cusack."

Wet Hot American Summer
I can't believe I neglected to mention this one originally since, being the lovechild of some of my favorite actors/comedians in the world (Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, members of "The State"), it's one of my all-time favorite films. About her pick, WhiplashGirlchild explains, "Wet Hot is quite possibly my favorite comedy of all time. It's based on the camp movies of the 70's and 80's and is absolutely hilarious."

21 Disposable Products You Can Reuse

Even when the product is supposedly "disposable," you can always reuse it. Wise Bread shares awesome ways to reuse these 21 disposable products.

It’s said that we live in a disposable society. But the word "disposable" is a misnomer. Disposable is considered throwaway, something you use once and dump, regardless of the life that may be left in it. As a frugal shopper with a concern for the state of our environment, I think that just won’t do.

I often reuse many so-called “onetime-use” items, and I asked friends, family, and colleagues to tell me which disposable items they squeeze more life from. Here’s my list, including some of the surprising ideas I was given.

Wanderlust: Could Have Used Some More Direction

Many of the characters in Wanderlust preach about freedom, whether it's in relation to work, love, or clothing, and the philosophy seems like it was over-applied to the making of this film, because it ends up completely lost. Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston play married couple George and Linda, Manhattanites who have just put all their money into buying a home in the city when George loses his job, and thus, their new apartment. On their way to stay with family, they get derailed at Elysium Bed & Breakfast, a property that's more hippie than hospitable. George and Linda like their taste of living on the commune, so they decide to try out the lifestyle and challenge their uptight sensibilities. The setup is rife for humor, but Wanderlust is too thin on story and character development to be the fun romp that it could be.

Wanderlust has so much promise onscreen and off (writer/director David Wain is also behind Wet Hot American Summer and Role Models), but even with an occasionally funny script, Rudd and Aniston's shared charm can't save a movie that would have been better suited for a five-minute sketch. Jason Sudeikis Leads the Way in A Good Old Fashioned Orgy Trailer

Jason Sudeikis's A Good Old Fashioned Orgy debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year and the just-released trailer gives us a better taste of what to expect from the raunchy comedy. Eric (Sudeikis) and his friends refuse to grow up, thanks in part to the Summer home his parents own and allow them to routinely trash with wild parties. When his dad, played by Don Johnson, announces he is selling the house, Eric decides to go out with a bang - literally. He suggests a weekend orgy as their last hurrah, and of course recruits the cute realtor, Kelly (Leslie Bibb), along for the event. The ensemble cast also includes Lake Bell, Tyler Labine, Nick Kroll, and Will Forte. The trailer has a bit of a Wet Hot American Summer meets Animal House vibe, with man-of-the-moment Jason Sudeikis's signature wry sense of humor front and center. A Good Old Fashioned Orgy is out Sept. 2.
