Check Out the Full Trailer For Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Fans of Shia LaBeouf have seen evidence of his real-life romance with Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan, but here's a glimpse at their chemistry on the big screen. In the new, full trailer for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, there's a lot more insight into the romance between Jacob Moore and Winnie Gekko (LaBeouf and Mulligan) and how Gordon Gekko's release from prison plays into their relationship.

The first teaser gave us a taste of the fast-paced, greedy, Wall Street lifestyle, but the second trailer provides a bit more character exploration. We see Jacob and Winnie fighting over Jacob's fascination with Gordon as Gordon draws Jacob into his world of greed. Meanwhile, Josh Brolin makes an appearance as the typically arrogant older trader who seems ready to squash Jacob like a bug.

The second trailer has me more excited about the film than the first, so to see it just read more.

Teaser Trailer For Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Well, well, well. Just yesterday I was wondering when we'd see a few scenes from the Wall Street sequel, and this morning the teaser showed up. When we last saw Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) way back in 1987, he was facing jail time for his illegal Wall Street activities. Twenty years later, he - along with his empty money clip and Zack Morris-sized cell phone - is released from prison to enter a very different financial world than the one he left.

The video playfully depicts just what Gekko's missed while he's in jail. Jacob Moore (Shia LaBeouf) and Bretton James (Josh Brolin) represent a sleeker, more stylized generation of Wall Street traders - at least on the surface. Once he's back in the real world, Gekko wastes no time imparting his words of wisdom to his daughter (Carey Mulligan)'s boyfriend Jacob, but has he been gone for too long to have any impact?

The film definitely has the potential to be totally tongue-in-cheek, but in the best way possible. Check it out for yourself and tell me what you think when you read more.

Money Never Sleeps, the sequel to the iconic 1987 film Wall Street hits theaters this April, but sadly we still have yet to see a trailer. I can't wait to see Michael Douglas step back into Gordon Gekko's shoes, especially since rising stars Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan will be fresh faces in the cast. As we wait for the first preview, get a taste with these new stills from the film and on the set.

Shia LaBeouf Could Join Stone, Douglas For Wall Street 2

Get ready for more tales of greed and corruption on the big screen: Michael Douglas and director Oliver Stone have officially signed on for a sequel to Wall Street, and Shia LaBeouf is also in talks for a part.

Wall Street 2 will again focus on the life of Gordon Gekko (Douglas), who's just emerging from prison into a financial landscape far different from the high-flying one he left behind. LaBeouf is circling the role of a young trader. Variety says "the recent economic meltdown spurred by rampant greed and corruption will fit prominently into the plot."

I'm impressed that this sequel has already wrapped up so much of the high-level talent from the original film, and there's probably no denying that the current economic meltdown could be a compelling story. Douglas himself just said, "Everybody's talking about the economy and people are scrutinizing it. Whenever I mention Wall Street 2, everybody goes, 'Yeah. Interesting. I'd see that.'" So: Would you?

In yet more sequel news, Mike Meyers is developing an Austin Powers 4 according to MTV, and Michael Douglas will reprise his role as money-hungry Gordon Gekko in a sequel to Wall Street, reports the BBC.

Green Zone: Heavy on Action (and Preaching)

Meet Matt Damon, war hero. If the Bourne series is any indication, director Paul Greengrass knows how to get a pistol-whip out of the actor, and the two team up once again, bringing that same pumping adrenaline to Baghdad in Green Zone.

Heart-pounding blasts erupt as we open with Chief Miller (Damon) and his army comrades as they sniff out weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, circa 2003. A sniper is firing bullets from a tower and looters run through the streets kicking up dust, but Miller's unit discovers nothing. The government has been providing misinformation regarding the WMDs, and Miller takes it upon himself to figure out what's really going on.

When Miller questions army officials, they act like he's crazy - with the exception of one CIA member, Marty Brown (Brendan Gleeson). Brown confirms Miller's suspicions, and the two begin their own investigation. With help from a Wall Street Journal reporter (Amy Ryan), Miller learns of a mysterious source named "Magellan" who provided information to the press about WMDs; yet, the only person who knows Magellan is Pentagon rep Clark Poundstone (Greg Kinnear) who swiftly tries to shut Miller down at every turn. So what is Poundstone hiding? If you've ever heard the term "conspiracy theory," you can probably guess - but that doesn't diminish the film's suspense.

That's thanks to Greengrass, who uses his fast-paced shots to take us through alleyways and over fences. His on-foot filmmaking is full of shaky camera work that puts you in the thick of the gunfire for an authentic feel, but it also makes you a bit queasy. As we head toward an explosive finish, Damon launches into Jason Bourne mode, and believability goes out the window. Lack of plausibility is okay though when it's an action movie, right?

The problem is that Green Zone wants to be more than that. With a plot about Iraq and government conspiracy, you're bound to have anti-war underpinnings, and the script doesn't miss out on any opportunity to drive the moral home. This message is voiced by an Iraqi character named Freddy (Khalid Abdalla), who Miller takes in to serve as an informant and translator. Freddy doesn't help the US for a reward, he's doing it for his country, as he proclaims "it's not for you to decide what happens here." It's a thought that echoes through to the closing credits, and a worthy point at that - but in the midst of what amounts to countless chase scenes, for Green Zone it's a little out of left field.

The Good Guy: Very Little Payoff

Love triangles are done to death, but The Good Guy puts a spin on the story convention, showing the audience only what the director wants us to see: our narrator knocking on the door of his girlfriend's apartment. She's with someone else (!) and turns him away with the words, "I feel sorry for you." Seems cold - that is, until our perception gets flipped, and the tale unfolds.

Said narrator is Tommy (Scott Porter), a hotshot Wall Street trader who acts as leader to his office associates, foul-mouthed lotharios with nicknames like Shakespeare and Steve-O whose egos are as big as their pockets are deep. Tommy isn't like them. He has a new girlfriend Beth (Alexis Bledel) who he whisks away on surprise dates while the rest of the boys scrounge for late-night hookups. Or so it appears.

Things get jumbled once Daniel (Bryan Greenberg) arrives on the scene. Daniel is a glorified office intern, meekly mumbling his way through the day in beaten-up khakis. In him, Tommy takes him under his wing as a project, someone to mentor at work - and with women. But despite Tommy's efforts to spruce him up with new clothes, Daniel still can't break from his awkward social shell. Instead, Daniel leans on Beth, joining her book club where he waxes poetic about Pride and Prejudice and Elizabeth Bennett. And so, Beth finds herself torn between two men - Daniel is too nice to be true, Tommy too perfect. You can probably guess who is putting on a show.

The storyline was inspired by the novel The Good Soldier, and it draws several obvious parallels. It's creative thinking on the part of the screenwriter Julio DePietro, but unfortunately none of the characters are endearing enough to carry the film. Daniel's shyness and Beth's "perfect girl" routine only come across as boring. As for Tommy, it's hard to find a single likable quality in him at all. Even the script's attempt at a twist feels expected.

Wall Street is supposed to be about drama – high risks, big rewards. You would think that something with such a fast-paced setting would be a little more, well, exciting.
