Dior Marks Art Basel With a Painter's Palette

If you want a chance at what may be 2012's most artistic beauty offerings, get in line for Dior's designer collaboration with German painter, sculptor, and installationist Anselm Reyle. The Berlin-based artist is known for working with bright colors and unexpected materials like neon tubing, and his violet camouflage eye shadow palette for Dior echoes his aesthetic perfectly. It's all part of a larger Dior accessories collection Reyle designed, which includes handbags and camo-print sandals. The palette ($110), along with five nail lacquers ($23) in Reyle-inspired hues, will be feted at a private party during Art Basel Miami this week. Not on the invite list? Look for the goods at Saks Fifth Avenue in January.

Jennifer Garner lead her oldest daughter, Violet Affleck, onto a private jet leaving LA yesterday afternoon. The girls left town following a fun few days together that included a trip to the beach with little sister Seraphina. While Jennifer keeps an eye on the girls, Ben Affleck has started filming Argo in California. The movie is his third feature as a director and is a story about a CIA plan to free hostages in Iran. Production on the film will later move to Washington DC and Istanbul, where Ben spent time earlier this year scouting locations and thrilling locals while he shopped in their central market.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck had their hands full at the Van Nuys airport in LA yesterday. They loaded up a private plane with luggage and their daughters Violet and Seraphina, with the help of multiple assistants. The travels are just the latest for Jennifer following her recent trip to NYC, where she promoted her work with Save the Children, while Ben's been hanging closer to home, even making an appearance at the Guys Choice Awards earlier this month. It's time for the family to celebrate Ben's hot Hollywood dad status on Father's Day, and they can also applaud his new directing project, Tell No One. Jennifer's parenting skills have been receiving some attention lately too, since Rachel Zoe gushed about Jennifer's "supermom" ability and said that she's given her great advice as a new mother.

Kate Middleton, in McQueen, Meets Those Affected by Riots in Birmingham With William

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, were together this morning to visit the Summerfield Community Center in Birmingham, England. Kate Middleton wore an Alexander McQueen outfit that was similar to the navy, military-inspired ensemble she sported in June to a ceremony honoring the Irish Guards. Today William and Kate spoke to responders who were active in helping citizens clean up after the riots earlier this month. Many royals have been busy this week speaking with those who offered aid in the wake of the crisis. Prince Harry chatted with emergency workers in Salford, near Manchester, yesterday, and Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles did something similar in Croydon on Wednesday. William and Kate began their visit by having a private meeting with the parents of three men who were killed at the start of the violet outbreak on Aug. 10, and then moved on to speak with local lawmakers and those at the community center. Kate said of the riots, "Looking at all the young people out and about on the streets, we couldn't believe it was happening in Britain."

Since Creed's Spring Flowers is one of my all-time favorite fragrances, whenever I hear about new launches from this brand I get giddy. If only they weren't quite so expensive I think I'd own them all! The latest release from this privately held luxury fragrance company is called Amalfi Flowers. And talk about buzz: If you don't reserve a bottle ASAP, you just might be out of luck. It is being released exclusively to nineteen select Saks stores nationwide this October in limited-edition quantities.

The company has decided to sell only 375 bottles, which will be wrapped in Italian Amalfi-colored terra cotta and will be numbered and signed by Olivier Creed himself. The available size selections and prices are $270 for a 1.7 ounce bottle of Eau de Parfum and $450 for an 8.4 ounce bottle. (Whoa, that's almost as scary as taking an actual drive along the Amalfi Coast!)

As you would imagine, the scent was inspired by a memorable walk that Olivier Creed and his son Erwin took together in the gardens of the Villa Rudulfo, located on a perch above the Amalfi coast in Italy. The sunrise was so exquisite that they decided to commemorate the moment with a new fragrance that captures the essence of the gardens.

In the perfume you'll find a blend of lemon, rose, bougainvillea, mandarin, basil, bergamot, black currant, ginger, patchouli, iris, ambergris, violet, sandalwood and leather. (Notice the fall leather trend rearing its head again.) The packaging is also worth mentioning since it is crafted from shatterproof glass, so you can take it wherever you may go.
