The Arrested Development movie was a hot topic at this month's TCA press tour, but it wasn't the only TV-to-film adaptation on reporters' minds. When Rob Thomas turned up to talk about his forthcoming Cupid, he also entertained some questions about the future of Veronica Mars — and what he said was mostly good news for fans.
With Cupid's episode order cut from 13 to eight, Thomas said he now finds himself with "a couple months to write the Veronica Mars movie."

Today EW is reporting that Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas recently met with Kristen Bell to discuss the possibility of bringing Veronica Mars to the big screen. He's a very busy man these days, that Rob Thomas, and he says he'd have to wait until his new shows are off the ground before he could concentrate on a film version of VM, but he reportedly said, "as soon as I have any free time, that's my top priority."
Kristen Bell seems to be on board for it, though she doesn't like to think about VM too much because, she says, "it really does make me sad."

I don't crouch down on the ground to interview just anyone. But when Diane Ruggiero, the executive producer of the upcoming CBS series The Ex List, asked a group of reporters if it would be all right if she sat down while we talked to her, we all sat too — even though it meant getting cozy with the cold cement floor of a Hollywood night club.
That's how much we wanted to talk to Ruggiero, who earlier in the day had completely won over the room at the TCA press tour with her rambling stories and witty retorts.

Earlier this week, I told you the Veronica Mars third-season DVD set included a feature with Rob Thomas talking about making Veronica an FBI agent for the show's proposed fourth season, back when he was trying to save the show from cancellation.
Well, it's even better than I thought: The set includes the whole 20-minute Veronica-in-the-FBI pilot pitch Thomas made to the CW — and some intrepid fan has put a big chunk of it on YouTube. The unaired pilot shows Veronica entering the FBI academy and executing her first sting with all her trademark sass and spirit.

Wow, this was by far the most exciting Buzzworthy challenge ever! Asking about your favorite addictive TV shows yielded unprecedented results, and I can see you all feel as strongly as I do about your shows — you know, the ones you tell everyone about because they "just hafta see it as soon as possible!" Some of you bookmarked ones I've mentioned before for being the most gripping, cliffhanger-y shows in my collection, like "24" and "Alias."
