Did you ever read R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books? Now there's going to be a movie version of the series, Variety reports.
Billboard has the rundown of this year's BET Awards nominees; T. Pain leads the pack with five nominations.
Hooray! The hilarious Rob Corddry has finally landed a starring role, in the action-comedy Project A, which will be produced by Ben Stiller, ComingSoon writes.
According to Variety, we'll see an English-language remake of the Chilean movie Pretendiendo in which "a beautiful woman . . . dons a fat suit to shield herself from any more romantic upsets."
American Idol's Taylor Hicks is headed to Broadway as the Teen Angel in a production of Grease, Billboard reports.
Zap2It writes that George Clooney will star in an adaptation of the non-fiction book Men Who Stare at Goats.
The Wall Street Journal claims that if ratings don't improve for the CW, the network may be doomed.
ComingSoon reports that Danny Glover will reprise his stage role in a big screen adaptation of Master Harold... and the Boys.

A Reader's First Half Marathon Is Full of Triumphs and a Little Bit of Embarrassment

FitSugar reader Dhitri has an embarrassing tale about her first half marathon. She shared her story in our RunningSugar community group. Help her out by sharing your own funny or embarrassing race tales below!

So you know I ran my first half and had the greatest time ever.

There were a few blunders, of course (what's a race without 'em?). Firstly, I arrived only half an hour before the start. Leaving the house without breastfeeding my little miss didn't feel right (and I had to lose that excess fluid from that part of my body anyway!) and it took longer than anticipated. Then of course I completely forgot about the road closures! We were stuck in traffic and I had to hop out of the cab and run to the event location to save me a few minutes. Also, in all my excitement, I forgot to put on any Vaseline or Bodyglide and even forgot to apply sunscreen. My skin was dry and full of marks from me scratching all night (I do that when nervous). My legs never looked this ugly!

But here comes a big confession: I peed in my pants during the run. Okay, firstly I have to criticize the otherwise flawlessly organized race. There were simply not enough portaloos! The line before the start was just EPIC.

Initially I didn't feel like I needed to go, but then remembered that I downed a lot of water when I woke up at 5AM (2 hours before start) and even though I went a few times at home, I felt like I needed to visit the conveniences in case I needed to wee because of the cold (it was a chilly morning at 10 degrees C) or nerves. I braved the line until a couple minutes before start (and was still nowhere near my turn). Big mistake! I should have braved the bushes instead.

"Failed Painter" Angelina Jolie on Defying Rules, Clint Eastwood, Defining Success

Angelina Jolie's directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey, a love story set during the Bosnian War in the '90s, opens here in the US on Friday. She was in NYC earlier this month doing press for the film and joined her cast for a press conference at the Waldorf Astoria. Leading ladies Zana Marjanovic and Vanessa Glodjo, as well as actors Goran Kostic and Rade Serbedzija, sat with Angelina on a panel moderated by NPR's Tom Gjelten. The conversation was all about the movie, with Angelina speaking about the process of creating the script with input from survivors. She also touched on the directors she has learned from and the challenges of making a movie in a foreign language. Angelina said:

On learning about directing: "You learn from everybody. Clint Eastwood taught me a lot about working with people that you love, that you think are great people, and making a family - working with nice people, good people. He's also very fast, so I had to learn about the economy of a shoot and a budget."
On deciding to make the movie in Bosnian and English: "When you want to do a film about this subject matter, many people tell you, 'Well, you're going to have to do a lot of different things in order to get people to see this.' One of them being, English, and the other being you're going to have to cast people who people recognize. We decided to do neither."
On how she'll define success for the movie: "We had a very low budget, so we're starting at a good base. It's gonna be alright I think . . . I hope it's received as a film. I hope people see it as a piece of art as well. I hope the actors involved are recognized for being extraordinary actors. So my fingers are crossed for that."
On the importance of art themes in the film: "I think Zana and I are both failed painters. We both tried to paint. I would have loved to be a painter. This part of the world - they're artists. During the siege, a film festival started under the siege of Sarajevo! Plays were put on, art was made. It was their art that just stood stronger and stronger while they were being starved and shot at. Art is representative of the region. As a woman and an artist it was a beautiful tool to express the internal side of a character."

Group Therapy: My Boyfriend Things I'm Ugly

And it hurts. It really does.

I spent my entire life hearing that I was ugly or weird from classmates, siblings, sometimes my own mom. I found my boyfriend, and we've been together for quite some time, and it did feel nice to know someone thought I was worth looking at. I was wrong. Today he came out and said that he dated me because I was an awesome person, but look wise I'm pretty much nothing. I should have expected it, but I really just wanted to be wanted for once.

I don't know no one is really reading this. Maybe it's just a bad day.

Glee-ful Highlights From Episode "Mash Off"

What goes around comes around, and Santana learns her lesson the hard way on this week's episode of Glee. When Mr. Schue and Shelby decide to put their respective singing groups head-to-head for a little friendly competition, things spiral out of control and get ugly. Very ugly.

While Finn and Santana are busy trash talking, the presidential election heats up between Kurt, Brittany, and Rachel - with one key player dropping out of the competition. There's a lot of foul play going on, so let's break it down when you

Puck (or should I say "Puck-fasa"?) has decided he's in love with Shelby - so in love that he expresses his emotions with a rendition of "Hot For Teacher," complete with crotch grabs from Blaine and Kurt. Though he's still keeping the torrid affair a secret from his friends, he's laying it on pretty thick with Shelby. She tells him the kiss was a mistake, but still lets him come over to see Beth, which is when Puck spills the beans about Quinn's plan to get their baby back. Shelby naturally doesn't react well to the information, and forbids Quinn from seeing the baby anymore.
It's no surprise that Sue has taken to mudslinging for her campaign, and her latest ad goes straight for Burt's heart, literally. I have to admit that I giggled a little at the comparisons between Burt and a baboon, even though the commercial sets a precedent that later comes back to bite Sue in the butt. Meanwhile, Brittany is doing some slandering of her own, saying that Rachel is (gasp!) on MySpace, and Kurt's face is used for My Little Ponies.
Mr. Schuester and Shelby try to set up some healthy competition with the New Directions and the Troubletones, introducing a "mash-off." (This show loves nothing if not a mashup.) It takes about 10 seconds for Santana to go into full attack mode, specifically targeting Finn. Normally I find Santana's insults amusing, but she goes way too far this week, making me wonder why Brittany even continues to stick by her side. Since Finn can't trash talk, he suggests that the two groups take things to the gym for a game of dodgeball instead.
The dogeball scene is cheesy as all get-out, but the entire cast looks like they are having a blast singing and dancing to "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" / "One Way or Another." It's all fun and games until Santana's nasty streak continues when she starts pounding poor Rory with a dodgeball. It's hard to feel sorry for her when Finn finally finds a way to hit her where it hurts: he calls Santana out on being a lesbian and says she's a coward.
At the presidential debates at school, Kurt is the only candidate who makes a speech that isn't completely ridiculous. While Brittany vows to protect McKinley from tornadoes, Kurt wants to ban bullying and dodgeball. His fellow students may not agree with Kurt's feelings about dodgeball, but it's sweet and touching to see him putting together a genuine campaign promise. To give him an extra boost, Rachel drops out of the competition and throws her support to Kurt.
Though no winner is crowned, both the New Directions and the Troubletones bring out really amazing mashups for the competition. New Directions definitely win the award for best costumes; they channel the '80s with a Hall & Oates mashup that's uptempo and fun to watch. Meanwhile, the ladies go for a more emotional number with a combination of Adele songs. Which group gets your vote?
Though Finn knocks Santana down a notch, she's not prepared for what happens next: apparently one of the candidates running against Sue overhears Finn calling Santana a lesbian, and uses it in his own attack ad against Sue. He implies that Sue is a lesbian and targets her for having a lesbian cheerleading captain. Not only is the ad shocking and inappropriate in so many ways, but it's the final straw for Santana, who breaks down and slaps Finn across the face after the Troubletones performance.

Group Therapy: I'm Introverted and Single - How Can I Get Noticed?

As a 20-something girl I'm pretty much used to comparing myself to other girls from my years in high school. I know there's not some magical formula to becoming okay with yourself, but I know there are steps or habits that can alleviate the terrible misery of constantly feeling less than.

I've been single for over two years. Not really saying this is bad. I guess in retrospect I've needed this time to focus on school (and to date total assholes who have taught me a lot about myself). But now I've reached a point in my life where I'm like "okay, I'm actually ready right now to give this a shot." But I'm finding myself being intimidated by all the other girls in the dating pool.

Sunday Confessional: Caught My BF Watching Porn While on the Phone With Me

The other night when we were talking on the phone (as we usually do before bed), my BF was really quiet and wasn't saying a lot. All of a sudden I heard a girl moaning in the background, then it quickly shut off. There was this really intense silence, and then all of a sudden he was talking about anything and everything. I didn't say anything because it was really awkward and weird . . . but I couldn't and still can't stop feeling upset, almost angry by it. I know most men watch porn, but why does he have to watch it with me on the phone? Like what is that about? We have a good sex life but now I can't help but feel even more self-conscious and ugly than I already do. How would you guys feel in this situation?

Adding Art to Our Bare Walls

For the first year we lived in our house, we had absolutely nothing hanging on the walls. I'm not much of a home decorator. It took an observation from marketman to make me realize that our walls were bare. Nude. Au naturale. I thought this could be my opportunity to get back into painting, so I proceeded to drop about $300 on art supplies - oil paints, an easel, solvents, canvases, palettes, brushes, and other assorted tools - which have since gone unused. I should have realized that I haven't touched paints since high school and that the mental hurdle of putting brush to canvas might be too great.

But slowly but surely, we have made a few changes. Thanks to his grandmother, we now have a lovely still life in the downstairs hallway (she is quite the artist), and we spent half of a Sunday framing a bunch of photos to create our own photo mosaic in the TV room. And despite our ugly sectional couch in the living room, we managed to spruce up the space with an obi we bought in Tokyo last year . . . and - oh yeah - the piano that marketman's parents generously provided as our housewarming present!

I think our crowning achievement is the "vintage" canvas bus roll we created with all of the places at which he and I (or he or I) have lived. I had to cut out a few of his early years (New Haven, Cambridge, Seoul, Daejeon) because there just wasn't enough space. So we stuck to the more significant locales for us as a twosome, and I found a cool font called Roadway that gave it that old bus station look while he used his knowledge of layers and effects to give it an aged feel before having it printed and stretched by Canvaspop.
