It's about that time again - classes are almost in session, so I'll pose a question: Is your wardrobe cool-ready? To start you off, I'm revisiting a fave. I could've watched Troop Beverly Hills on repeat just to see Shelley Long outfit her troops and kick some ass. I love an underdog. But more importantly, I love that Shelley's wilderness crew never compromises the chic - utilitarian khaki, sweet little scarves, pumps, not to mention tailored silhouettes. Take a cue from the Beverly Hills princesses cum wilderness trailblazers and get campy in neutral-hued separates, like J Brand's Houlihan Cargos ($231), olive accents via Elizabeth and James Explorer Blouse ($244), and just a hint of luxury in details like this Michael Kors Mother of Pearl Watch ($250). Song of the Day: Rilo Kiley, "The Frug"

Ok, Rilo Kiley fans, are you ready for a serious geek-out? If any of you saw child-actress-turned-frontwoman Jenny Lewis in her star-making role in Troop Beverly Hills, then you may remember the scene in which troop leader Shelley Long teaches the girls a bunch of 1960s dances, such as "The Freddy." In fact, my memory is hazy, but I think there was a scene at a nursing home, with dancing elderly folks, set to the tune of "Do the Freddy." (Does anyone remember this? Help me out here.)

Anyway, given Lewis's personal history with such dances, I've always thought it utterly charming that the singer penned a track called "The Frug" that name-checks many of those same dance moves. The hard-to-find 1998 song appeared on the soundtrack for a movie called Desert Blue, which is infinitely more obscure than Troop Beverly Hills (but check out that cast!). Jake Gyllenhaal Brings His Ex, Troop Beverly Hills Star Jenny Lewis, as Golden Globes Date!

Jake Gyllenhaal is newly single after his split from Taylor Swift, but the Golden Globe nominee didn't go solo to last night's big show. Jake brought along Jenny Lewis, the front woman for the band Rilo Kiley and former child star from Troop Beverly Hills. The two apparently dated back in 2001, and she was the lucky lady to score a spot as his award season date. The two have also been friends for a long time and he's a big fan of her music. He and Reese Witherspoon even checked out her Coachella performance a few years ago. After the show, Jake stopped by the Weinstein Company afterparty, though he skipped doing the red carpet with his lady friend.
