Since CBS released its new sitcom 2 Broke Girls, in which actress Beth Behrs plays a recently humbled heiress, Caroline, who moves to Brooklyn to hide out after her father loses their family fortune in a Ponzi scheme.

Caroline winds up living with her perpetually poor fellow waitress, Max, played by Kat Dennings, and the two hatch a plan to save their wages and start a cupcake business.

Recession-era cupcake businesses have been all the rage lately (see: Bridesmaids), but shows addressing personal finances - or lack thereof - with humor and honesty is something we don’t see very often. Caroline and Max manage to plan for their future while hustling for their present - and survive on a shoestring with admirable grace. We love that these characters live richly, even on a tight salary: After all, that's what LearnVest is all about.

And, of course, any show where the leading ladies discuss interest rates is right up our alley.

LearnVest: As a 26-year-old in Hollywood, how much of Caroline and Max’s financial struggle can you relate to?

Beth Behrs: Literally up until we shot the pilot, I was working as a nanny five days a week and then as a bartender and concierge at The Geffen Playhouse on the weekends. So, I can definitely relate to being broke, right out of college and working tons of odd jobs to just pay the rent.

Kate Middleton bundled up in a furry coat, stayed casual in jeans, and kept her feet dry with green Wellington boots that matched those of her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, to watch her husband, Prince William, play a game of soccer on Christmas Eve. The boots, which William, Kate, and her sister, Pippa Middleton, have been spotted wearing previously for walks and hunting trips, are apparently made by Le Chameau - buy them here - and lined with leather. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in Sandringham with the royal family for their first Christmas together as newlyweds. Kate and William attended Christmas services in the town, where they were greeted by a crowd of well-wishers on the holiday. 2011 has been an amazing year for Prince William and Kate Middleton, but the start of 2012 will have them apart for a couple of months as part of his military service.

Victoria's Secret hosted its annual fashion show extravaganza at the Armory in NYC filled with beautiful models and rockin' music to go with it. We were entranced right from the beginning; Candice Swanepoel took the opening spot walking out in a gorgeous pair of ballet-inspired wings and a thong set, with Angels following in a sexy array of feathered, tutu-embellished ensembles. Four more themes followed highlighting Super Angels - Kanye West and surprise guest Jay-Z showed an awesome performance during this set - with models like Alessandra Ambrosio and Karlie Kloss decked out in comic-inspired capes and thigh-high boots. The crowd danced along and even Beyoncè made a quick appearance to support her husband dressed in an ethereal white gown. Miranda Kerr got to wear the $2.5 million Fantasy Treasure bra as Orlando Bloom stood in the front row clapping as she went down the runway. But there was even more love during the show: During Maroon Five's performance, Adam Levine kissed his VS angel Anne Vyalitsina during the set. Zach Galifianakis Says Making Puss in Boots Made Him Feel "Like a Kid"

Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek may be the focus of this week's animated release, Puss in Boots, but their feline characters spend much of the movie being upstaged by an egg. It's because that egg is Zach Galifianakis - the comedian voices Humpty Dumpty in the Shrek spin-off. I caught up with Galifianakis recently to talk about the great experience he had working on the film, why it made him feel like a kid, and his role in another highly anticipated film, The Muppets.

BuzzSugar: You don't do voice work on animated films that often. Why did you pick this movie?
Zach Galifianakis: They asked me to do it. For years nobody asked me to do anything, so I'm still in that kind of honeymoon phase where I'm like "Yeah!" When they asked me to do it, I watched the Shrek movies [because] I hadn't seen them before. I got really excited about it, I thought that the Shrek movies were really cute. I'm not a big animated movie person either. I don't really gravitate toward animated things, especially a movie. But they asked me to be a part of it, and in the first couple of times I [recorded], my confidence wasn't that great, but I have to say: It's so much fun. So fun to do. I wish everybody could get a chance to do it. It's so fun. Every time I was recording, I was in the best mood. I'm as cynical as they get, and I always roll my eyes at this business, but I gotta tell you, I felt like a kid. I loved it. I really did.

Buzz: Did you ever get to meet the other actors you were recording with?
ZG: [Joking] The courts asked me to stay away from all the other actors. No, I met all the other actors today. I hadn't met any of them. First time.

The best way to prepare for this financial challenge is to make ample room in your budget to cover at least some of the items below. Consider this a rundown of what to expect to spend when you’re expecting.

Anything But Hospital Food

Hospital food isn’t the best, and you’ll quickly realize that you don’t have to eat it. From then on, you might expect a takeout bag every time a visitor leaves the hospital. But those morning egg sandwiches and evening trays of sushi that you can finally eat again do add up. Two or three nights in the hospital can set you back $50 to $75.

Getting Out of the House

Being on maternity leave feels kind of like being on vacation (except for the lack of sleep and crying baby). You will have a lot of free time, and after a week or two of adjusting, you’ll need to get out of the house and find things to do. You might want to meet friends for lunch and see some grown-ups. You also might want to go for an early evening drink or even dinner with your spouse since the baby sleeps in public right now, and it won’t always be like this. Try budgeting $25 to $50 a week in pocket money for small outings.

Parks and Recreation's Ron Swanson: 10 Fun Facts About the Man Behind the Mustache

On Parks and Recreation, Nick Offerman plays one of the show's most fascinating characters: Ron Swanson. The curmudgeonly government official loves every kind of meat, barely tolerates people, and hates his same-named ex-wives. Over the course of three seasons, Offerman has managed to make Ron hilarious and surprisingly likable. He and series creator Mike Schur recently chatted with reporters about the upcoming season of the show, and Offerman revealed some details about himself that rival Ron's persona.

He Has a Secret Love For Ballet
Offerman responded to a question about which of his own personality traits he wants Ron to adopt by saying, "I have a penchant for the ballet, and I’ve been pitching the fellows for the whole time we’ve been in production for a Ron Swan Lake episode."
His Onscreen Ex Is His Real Wife
You may not know that Offerman is married to Parks and Recreation guest star Megan Mullally, who plays Ron's second wife, Tammy 2. He sang her praises, as well as Patricia Clarkson's, who will be on season four as his first wife, Tammy 1: "We’ve been incredibly fortunate with the selection of ladies that have graced our stage with their presence, talent, and beauty. I think what the audience will be surprised to learn is that Tammy 2, played by Megan Mullally, the gorgeous Megan Mullally, may turn out to be the most kitten-like, timid women of the Tammys. I am about as giggly as a schoolgirl to have landed in a position where I’m portraying a man who has made love to both Megan Mullally and Patricia Clarkson. That is a consummation devoutly to be wished."

He Really Plays the Sax Noting that Ron's wood shop is Offerman's wood shop in real life, Schur divulged another Offerman skill that has been integrated into the show. Schur said, "The Duke Silver saxophone playing is also a real-life Nick Offerman thing. Nick really plays the saxophone, that’s really him playing in the episode from season two. . . . There’s no end. We could probably just base episodes around Nick Offerman’s real-life skills and have a long and happy run."
He Thinks His Appeal Is in His Scent When Offerman was asked why he thought audiences had responded so well to Ron Swanson, Offerman credited his smell. "I usually assume it’s my musk that attracts people. I keep the dander to a minimum and I keep it clean, but I use just a little bit of hibiscus oil behind each shoulder. That would be my guess."
He May Be Patricia Clarkson's #1 Fan Offerman confessed his admiration of guest star Clarkson, admitting, "I’ve been such a huge fan of hers for many years, and it’s nothing short of a dream come true that I got to actually work in scenes with her. When the possibility arose, I couldn’t believe my lucky stars. And she even surpassed our expectations. Not only is she a gorgeous and an incredible actress, but she is insanely hilarious to boot. I think everybody on set was just bowled over with how funny she was on the show."
He's Not Starving Himself to Fit Hollywood's Ideals Offerman did a nude photo shoot with wife Mullally last year, and he joked (I think) about his unusual preparation method. "To prepare for that photo shoot, we took a three-week tour of Europe where I sampled the sausages of five nations, ending with a 16-inch long bratwurst in the town square of Prague, a mere 18 hours before that photo shoot. And if you look closely in the picture, you can make out a bulge that I think is representative of that particular pork sausage."
He Believes a Real Man Should Have Hair on His Chest Offerman's other tidbit about his photo shoot led to him decrying the trend of manscaping, declaring, "I can legitimately say that I insist on no shaving or waxing. I think that the emasculation of the modern man in popular culture is something that has weakened our society considerably. I don’t know why a heroic male these days has to have a hairless torso. You know, when I grew up admiring Joe Don Baker swinging a baseball bat and walking tall, he was a hairy son of a b*tch. And to me, that’s a hero. You know, I’m a big fan of your Brad Pitts and your Jude Laws, but I’d like to see a little hair on their chests if they’re going to be beating somebody up."
He Uses Spot-On Fish Metaphors Offerman offered up a little-heard analogy after he talked about his favorite things about playing Ron: "I love when I get to eat meat. I love when I get to dangerously make out with my wife to the point of destroying buildings and furniture. And I love everything about it. Every time I’m handed a new script, I feel like a large-mouth bass at a night crawler convention."
He Has a Hard Time Keeping a Straight Face . . . Offerman finds it a challenge to keep it together while filming the show, saying "One of the hardest things about the job, when you are working with a cast of 10 home-run hitters, is simply tolerating their skill without busting out laughing. For me especially, when Ron is supposed to be unmoved, which is quite frequently, especially in the face of Andy or Leslie just being the most amazing clown right up in my face, it can be really difficult. But at the same time, that’s what makes the job so fun - when we do have a moment to break out and laugh at each other, because we’re watching the funniest work going today."
In Fact, He's a Giggler Perhaps my favorite thing I learned about Offerman was something Schur let slip when he talked about how much the cast laughs on the set. Schur said: "I’m an uncontrollable giggler, as is Nick, as is Amy, as is Aziz. Everyone on our show loves to laugh and giggle. It makes for such a nicer, more-friendly environment."

Bravo Confirms: Top Chef 9 Will Be in Texas

We've been wondering for some time: how will Bravo top last season's Top Chef All-Stars? The answer, we're assuming, lies in the location. After more than a month of speculation in the blogosphere, the folks at Bravo have finally confirmed that Top Chef is headed to Texas.

According to the announcement, the season will take place in "not one, but three cities - Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio." Houston is glaringly missing. In addition, the show will feature not only the regular cast of characters (Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons), but also Emeril Lagasse and and former Top Chef Masters contestant Hugh Acheson.

As a native of the Bayou City, I'm undeniably biased, but it's hard to believe that Houston - the largest city in the state, the fourth-largest in America, and home to Bryan Caswell, Chris Shepherd, and some of the country's biggest rising stars - has officially been snubbed. We should pray that this season won't get caught up in Texas stereotypes, but the announcement - which is already full of cheesy references like "everything's bigger" and "we hope the cheftestants' cowboy boots are made for walking" - almost certainly foreshadows campy challenges and hokey one-liners. I'm already predicting a kill-your-own challenge on a ranch, a guest appearance (or five) from Dallas star chef Tim Love, and a trip to Smitty's, Salt Lick, Kreuz, or another famous Austin-area barbecue joint. Will you tune in?

One-Woman Show Takes One Small Step For Womankind

Know who the first woman on the moon was? No? Exactly. There hasn't been one. While a handful of female astronauts have made it to space, their boots weren't made for moon walking. And now that the US space program has concluded its final flight, shuttling of this mortal coil, it's unlikely an American woman will roam it anytime soon (possibly even in our lifetime).

This fact amazed writer/performer Veronica Osorio - you may remember her as roller derby diva Heavy Flow in Vag Mag - who had no idea a woman had never been to the moon until she googled "first woman on the moon" a few years ago. She mentally filed the fact away and excavated it when it came time to write and star in her first-ever, one-woman comedy show, First Woman on the Moon, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NYC.

In the sketch comedy, she plays six very different characters. One is Astronaut Veronica, the one woman qualified to go to the moon. But alas, she's not "average" enough, what with her astrophysics background. Instead, NASA holds a Willy Wonka-style contest to find five "real American women" to rocket into space. Veronica plays all five of these so-called average women: a home-bound, elderly grandmother; a prostitute turned entrepreneur; a misguided feminist author; a depressed, young mom who laments motherhood via YouTube videos; and an enthusiastic but clueless teen.

After seeing the show last month (worth it), I spoke to Veronica about what inspired it and the characters. Find out what she had to say below.

I was working out in a hotel gym and a man was trying to perform some strange acrobatics that involved a kettle bell and a wobble board. A guy walked by and said "KISS, man!" Keep it simple, Stupid. Eat clean, work out hard. Rinse, repeat.

I usually never wear makeup if I work out at the gym, especially first thing in the morning, but I had my makeup on for a meeting at one of the gyms I teach at and stayed to do the moving stairs after for a quick session. I jumped off and ran to teach my next private yoga client and realized she kept staring at me funny the whole way through. After our private, I used her restroom and noticed I had total raccoon eyes! My mascara had run all down below my eyelids and I looked horrible! I told my makeup artist friend about this and here's the tip he gave me, "To avoid make up meltdown mascara under the eye, rub a little Vaseline under your eyes when you go for a run or do a heavy workout then use a q-tip to gently glide it off and reapply some concealer and you're good to go." It totally works and I realize many women have to sneak in their workouts midday or after work and this does the trick.
