Sex Addict's Mom Wants to Protect Her . . . From Sex Addicts

Who's smizing now? A McDonough, GA, woman is suing Tyra Banks for $3 million, after the woman's then-15-year-old daughter appeared on an episode of Tyra in 2009 to talk about her experience as a teen sex addict.

The sex addict part apparently isn't the problem; the issue is that the teen allegedly made the trip to New York and appeared on the show without mom's permission. Talk about picking your battles! The woman, who's a social worker herself, worries that the Tyra episode "was undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles alike."

Probably true - most sexual deviants never miss an episode of Tyra! But it does make me wonder if that concern would've been more useful before her daughter flew alone to New York, stayed in a hotel, and filmed the show? In any case, don't hold your breath for a chance to judge the episode in question for yourself; she's seeking an injunction against any future repeats of the show.

Oprah Winfrey's not the only one leaving daytime television in the dust - Tyra Banks has announced that her talk show will end its run in Spring 2010. She said, "I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years." Tyra will be focusing her energy on Bankable Studios, her film production company.

While Tyra's empire pales in comparision to Oprah's, she still had some memorable moments (remember when she posed as a homeless person?) and won two Daytime Emmys. So here's my question: will you miss Tyra's talk show?

Kyle Schuneman Redesigns the Tyra Banks Show Office

The Tyra Banks Show recently called upon one of my Designer Spotlights, Kyle Schuneman, to transform its drab and boring office into a fabulous workspace. Kyle started by painting the walls a serene blue with eco-friendly, zero-VOC paint. Then, he anchored the room with a Room and Board Parsons Desk and brought in a file cabinet with classic lines for storage. Nature-inspired curtains from Lotus Bleu added some pattern and chimed in on the earthy blue of the walls, while the Palladian Urn Crystal Lamp from Restoration Hardware gave the space polish.

I love how he mixed an Eames task chair knock-off with a Louis XIV side chair at the desk, flawlessly blending different eras and styles. Off to the side of the office, Kyle brought in the Urban Outfitters Antoinette Fainting Sofa, which countered the hard lines of the desk with feminine curves, and created a glamorous space to relax in with a mirrored table at its side. The episode had the girls posing as the book's protagonist Tookie, as well as hopeful models trying to make it to the fictional Modelland in a fashion film directed by Tyra herself. Heidi Klum Switches Gears From the Runways to the Beauty Counter

Heidi Klum stopped by The Grove shopping center in LA yesterday to make an appearance on Extra. She wasn't the only supermodel dropping by the show, since Tyra Banks was also on hand to promote her new book Modelland. Heidi wrapped up her season nine Project Runway hosting duties during last week's finale during New York Fashion Week. Now, Heidi's moved on to promoting her fragrance, Shine by Heidi Klum. Heidi also recently launched her own jewelry collection, Wildlife, exclusively for QVC.
