Sienna Miller was a splash of color in the NYC night at the premiere of Mysteries of Pittsburgh yesterday. She had her costar Peter Sarsgaard smiling on her arm. Earlier in the day Sienna talked about her upcoming debut on Broadway, saying, "I'm scared obviously but really excited. . . If you want to be an actress you think about opening on Broadway." If she gets nervous she can always turn to Read more

Movie Preview: The Mysteries of Pittsburgh

It wasn't my favorite of the 2008 Sundance movies I saw, but The Mysteries of Pittsburgh was still an interesting watch — and probably even more so for those who have read the Michael Chabon book on which the movie is based. Jon Foster plays the main character of Art Bechstein, a young man who passes his last Summer before entering the "real world" working at a book warehouse, meeting Read more

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh review

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh is great. And then it's terrible. And then it's puzzling. Then it's truthful. Then you go, "whaaaa?" And it ends and you're like, "eh." It's not a bad movie, by any means. It's cold! It's crowded! It's the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah! I've been here a couple days now and have luckily managed to the avoid black ice and nosebleeds. On the downside, this year's festival seems to be so popular, it's hard to get into the film screenings! Still, this is my first time here at Sundance and I am in awe of this experience. So much great art, so much Read more

For the next few days I'll be highlighting some of the films I'm most curious to see. Today's spotlight: The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. One of the few Sundance films to have an official website, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh is a film adaptation of the novel by author Read more

First Connecticut, Now Pennsylvania?

A while back, I told you that Connecticut was becoming filmmaking's latest hot spot. Now, I'm wondering if Pennsylvania's next. Much to Sienna Miller's likely chagrin, filmmakers and TV producers haven't exactly fled the state ever since her famously nasty comments while filming The Mysteries of Pittsburgh there last year. Instead, the upcoming Spike TV show "The Kill Point" recently spent more Read more
