Orlando Returns to New Zealand With Sexy Miranda and Adorable Flynn

Orlando Bloom touched down in New Zealand today accompanied by wife Miranda Kerr and their son, Flynn. The trio arrived prepped for what appears to be an extended stay with a boatload of luggage and Orlando's bike gear in tow. It's been 10 years since Orlando and company filmed Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, and now the primary actors are returning to the island country to resume filming The Hobbit. Orlando's reprising his role as Legolas so it's likely he'll be roaming around the set in a blond wig in the upcoming weeks. Miranda recently shared with us that the Kerr-Bloom family are gearing up to celebrate Flynn's first Christmas in her native Australia, though his supermodel mom already gifted her fans with a revealing holiday surprise. Miranda posed nude for Industrie Magazine and once again proved why she and Orlando are one of the hottest couples of 2011.

Life Lessons Learned From a Hobbit

This week may be Tolkien Week, but today is officially Hobbit Day! Hailing from the fictional world of Middle-earth, Hobbits have been described as relatives to man but coming in a much smaller package. And just because they aren't human (or, well - real), doesn't mean you can't learn something from their adventures in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Here, we take a look at a few lessons you can learn from the pint-sized creatures.

It pays to have friends - Throughout The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series, Gandalf, Bilbo, and Frodo Baggins are surrounded by friends, family, and allies that help them along their journeys. Without those friends, they may not have survived. Stay true and kind to your friends; you may never know when you'll need their help.
Money is not the most important thing in life - In The Hobbit, we learn that dwarves would rather starve than share their wealth. But as the leader of the Dwarves, Thorin, was on his deathbed, he realized the error of his ways too late: "If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world." True that, Thorin. True that.
Don't judge a book by its cover - Or a person's strength by their stature. Let's face it - Frodo is tiny, but he was able to complete his task of destroying the ring when other, much stronger men couldn't. The amount of one's passion, will, and strength has nothing to do with their size.
Appreciate the little things - There's a scene in The Lord of the Rings when Frodo, Sam, Pip, and Merry meet Aragon in a bar in Bree. Pip orders a beer and is totally astonished when one arrives in a full pint. Appreciating the small things in life, whether it's happy hour with your best gals or the fact that your phone takes and sends pictures to this thing called the Internet in five seconds flat, makes the tough times seem not so tough.
Say yes to adventure - Bilbo Baggins wasn't looking for adventure in The Hobbit, but once he followed his own journey, he ended up with wealth that he used to make his friends and family happy. In turn, making himself happy. If you say no to unknown tasks and callings, you might miss out on a big opportunity to be happy.

Photos of the dwarf brothers Dori, Nori, and Ori from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey were released today on the film's Facebook page. Due to hit theaters in 2012, the film describes the brothers:

Dori, Nori and Ori are intensely loyal to each other - and whilst they are perfectly happy fighting amongst themselves, woe-betide anyone who means harm to one of these brothers.

They're part of the 13 dwarf companions who accompany hobbit Bilbo Baggins on his quest to battle the dragon Smaug. Color us excited! In celebration of The Hobbit goodies (have you read the book yet?), we thought we'd take you on a special journey of our own just for fun. First Look: Martin Freeman in The Hobbit!

The first installment of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit won't arrive until December 2012, but here's an exciting treat for fans: the first official photos from the movie! In this prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) sets out on a quest to retrieve a treasure guarded by a dragon. He's joined by a crew of dwarves (and Gandalf!), and you can get a glimpse of Bilbo's dinner party in the photo below.

Are you ready for your next trip to Middle Earth? Peter Jackson's highly anticipated adaptation of The Hobbit now has release dates and full, official titles. Yes, that's plural, because the film will be split into two parts. The first installment is called The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and will come out Dec. 14, 2012, and the follow-up is titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again, with a release set for Dec. 13, 2013. Are you excited to see two full-length films based on the J.R.R. Tolkien classic?
