What to Download: New Music on iTunes

Tuesdays are big in entertainment-ville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes. So I take a spin through each week's iTunes music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download. Here are today's selections:

When geeks are right: I chose that intro phrase because that's what one of the coolest songs from The Faint's new album, Fasciinatiion, is all about. If you've never listened to this new-wave band before, this album might be a strange introduction (I'd recommend checking out their earlier album Blank-Wave Arcade instead). That said, I'm really fascinated (get it?!) by this new album and have already added the first track, "Get Seduced," to my iPod.

The music of the pants: If you're like me, you might want to add the soundtrack of the new Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie to the soundtrack of your life. I've seen the movie and enjoyed it (more on that later) and am having a good time reliving some of the scenes via these tracks, which include a pretty Aqualung song, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, a fun head-banger from the Noisettes and a totally romantic ballad from Mutemath.

read more. A new contemporary songstress: Amazon tells me that people who love new artist Mandi Perkins also love Jewel and Alanis Morrisette. I might add Natalie Merchant and Tracy Chapman to that list. Perkins has a considerable following on MySpace and has been featured on MTV shows like - you guessed it! - The Hills. That makes sense, because her heavy, emotional lyrics and sweeping melodies on songs like "Why Pretend" would be helpful filler for when LC and Audrina can't seem to find the right words and instead just make eyes at one another.

10 Traditional & Delicious Hanukkah Foods

During this time of year, it'd be hard to overlook the prevalence of fruitcake and eggnog, but there's another important December holiday, Hanukkah, that's replete with fabled history and tradition, too.

Traditionally, dishes for this Jewish holiday are not for the faint of heart. Many of the holiday eats are deep fried in oil to symbolize the oil that miraculously lasted eight days. Cheese is incorporated in many dishes in honor of the story of Judith in the Apocrypha, and other dishes include braised meats and starchy goodies.

While food during the Hanukkah celebration is symbolic and meaningful to those who commemorate it, it's delicious to everyone else as well. Click through for some of the historical dishes of the holiday.

Britanny Hillard was knocked off her feet when her now-fiancé, Cameron Humfleet, asked her to marry him. The 20-year-old from Kentucky literally fainted when her boyfriend popped the question. Cameron had organized a double surprise, first gathering all of her friends for a birthday party and then bringing her to the event blindfolded. But, the real shocker came next. He got down on one knee, and she quickly dropped to the floor. Fifteen minutes later, Cameron proposed again, and Britanny was able to actually say yes. 6 Tips to Tackling Black Friday Like a Pro

There are some that may argue that Black Friday shopping is not for the faint of heart - only the biggest bargain hunters are up for shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. If you're eager to tackle the jostling crowds for big discounts, read on for tips on how to maneuver Black Friday sales like an expert:

Call your bank. First and most importantly, call your bank to see what the spending limit is and to inform them of potential unusual activity on those days. There's nothing like having your credit card frozen to ruin your shopping plans.

Check your bank balance. If you're the type to shuttle your money away every month to your savings fund and other money accounts, you might not have enough in your account for Black Friday shopping. Make sure that your bank balance reflects the amount you plan to spend. Transfers generally take up to three days if you're moving money around between different banks, so start preparing beforehand.

Be specific when you make a list. Don't look at any ads before making this list. Base your list off of what you really need, not what looks like a good deal. Be specific and don't write things like "buy something for mom." Maybe your luggage broke and you need a new one or you're hoping to buy mom a new blu-ray DVD player. If you really want to treat yourself, be specific with what you're going to buy yourself, too.

Scour deals online. Now that you have your list in hand, make sure you keep an eye out at the major stores to see if there are any good deals available online. Many stores are selling their Black Friday sales items online earlier than Friday. Who knows? Maybe you can even do all of your Black Friday shopping from home. Immortals: One Divine 3D Experience

Everyone may be jumping on the 3D bandwagon these days, but Tarsem Singh's sword-and-sandals epic Immortals is a movie perfectly fit for the 3D screen. The opening scene foreshadows the predictable plot to come, but that doesn't make this film any less of a bloody-good visual masterpiece. And while it's impossible to ignore the obvious comparison to 300 (it has the same producers, after all), Immortals has a few tricks up its sleeve, allowing it to stand apart. The brutal and psychotic King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his Heraklion legions are on a quest for the invincible Bow of Epirus. Once it's in his possession, he will be able to unleash the Titans and overthrow the gods on Mt. Olympus. On a seemingly insignificant pillaging spree, he comes across Theseus (Henry Cavill), a lowly stonemason at the very bottom of the social food chain.

Little does Hyperion know, Theseus has been trained by Zeus in disguise on Earth and is one hell of a fierce warrior (not to mention a generally gorgeous creature). After Theseus's mother is murdered by Hyperion, Theseus goes on a quest to take the king down. But as the movie progresses, Theseus's mission evolves when he realizes this crusade has a far larger reach than a personal vendetta. Snacking While You Shop at the Grocery Store Could Get You Arrested!

A trip to the grocery store in Honolulu ended with two parents in jail and a 2-year-old toddler under the care of Child Protective Services (CPS) for a family that had relocated to the area from California a week earlier.

After getting lost on their way to the grocery store, Nicole Leszczynski, 30 weeks pregnant, felt faint and openly munched on two chicken salad sandwiches ($5) while keeping the wrappers in the shopping cart to be scanned at the register - but she and her husband forgot to pay for the sandwiches and were stopped by a security guard on the way out. The chain of events that unraveled next are almost too bizarre to comprehend - and a parent's worst nightmare. Store managers of the Safeway grocery store refused to let the couple pay for the items and had the couple arrested for shoplifting. CPS was called in to take the couple's 2-year old daughter, Zofia, into custody, where she spent the night before being reunited once again with her parents 18 hours later.

Nicole explained that grocery shopping brings some anxiety for her now, especially after reading comments online criticizing her for eating before paying. "I didn't know it was such a taboo thing," she said. "Where I grew up in a small town it's not seen as stealing for sure."
