Fall TV Update: Full Seasons For Everyone at CBS

CBS must be feeling generous! The network has just ordered full seasons for all of its freshman series, including Hawaii Five-0 (that's good news for this reader), Blue Bloods, Mike & Molly, The Defenders, and $#*! My Dad Says. Alex O'Loughlin fans, feel free to hoot and holler in the comments.

TV Tonight: The Triumphant Return of Modern Family and Cougar Town

I've been missing my Wednesday comedy fix for months now, but thankfully that's all about to change! Tonight, ABC is back with sophomore seasons of two of my favorite comedies, Cougar Town and Modern Family. Cougar Town will have a very special premiere thanks to one amazing guest star, and even Busy Philipps herself confirmed that there's a lot of fun ahead in season two. Meanwhile, Modern Family returns with even more hijinks, which includes more PDA, some bike shorts, and a princess castle for little Lily.

As the icing on the cake, ABC is adding a brand new comedy to its lineup, and it's one that I've already been gushing over. JoAnna Garcia's Better With You premieres at 8:30 p.m. Not only is it one of my top 5 new shows to watch, but it's also got a new heartthrob to gush over.

If all that is still not piquing your interest, there are three more shows for you to try on for size. NBC debuts J.J. Abrams's new spy series Undercovers, and at 10 p.m. you can take your pick of new lawyer shows: ABC's got The Whole Truth and CBS unveils The Defenders with Jerry O'Connell.

It's a long night of TV. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll bang your gavel.

Pilot Scoop: The Defenders

We may be celebrating the Emmys this Sunday, but a brand-new crop of Fall TV shows will be here before you know it! To get ready, I've been picking apart the pros and cons of each new series pilot. Today's selection: CBS's The Defenders.

What it's about: Jerry O'Connell and Jim Belushi star as two Vegas defense attorneys with personality to spare. O'Connell is Pete Kaczmarek, a playboy who likes pricey cars and easy women. To Pete, law is just another way to show off, though he's never afraid to put his neck out for a client. His counterpart is Nick Morelli (Belushi), a smartass trying to make peace with his estranged wife. New associate Lisa Tyler (Jurnee Smollett) also joins the firm with a more traditional approach to cases, but unfortunately, the boys don't like to play by the rules.

Where it works: The buddy chemistry between O'Connell and Belushi is promising (Belushi especially shines), and their sharp back-and-forth quips keep the show light. It's kind of refreshing to have a courtroom-based drama that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Where it doesn't: I'm just not invested in the story. The series needs more of a pull than just the flash of Sin City to keep viewers coming back.

Am I hooked? Not yet, but I may get sucked in if I see more character development.

When it's on: The series premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 10 p.m.

"I Ruined Everything"

First off, I need to say that I completely understand that all the things that happened to me were my own fault and I need to work on myself.

I have been with my BF for a year now and I am in love with him. He also (used to) tell me he is madly in love with me. Through this year I have seen some strange behavior from him, indicating that he was cheating on me. And add to these the strange feeling that sometimes hit me that he is cheating for sure. But NEVER did I have an actual proof.

So every time this happened, I acted like a 15 year old and confronted him. The first few times he defended himself and told me how he loved me and would never do anything to hurt me and would never cheat on me, after some time he got mad but still tried to prove me wrong and not let me go.

But this time, he is changed. And this time the signal that he was cheating and his strange behavior and unmatched words were stronger than ever. He said things that even a 5 year old could tell he is lying. But still, I couldn't prove it and he could brush my words off with just any excuse. This time he did not try to calm me down, he was furious and told me he is tired. Told me that I wasn't perfect myself and I have phobia from people hurting me and when problems come I act like a toddler.

His behavior and his not trying to win me back and his coldness making me believe that he must be seeing someone and heading off to something serious and that's why he is not trying to fix things. It's stupid, I know. But I am stupid.

I don't know how to fix things now, I tired to break things off, because no matter what he said, I still think he is cheating. But again, he accused me of leaving when a problem shows up between us. I thought maybe by apologizing and confessing to my fears, mistakes and insecurities, maybe he would come back and stop being so cold to me. But he didn't. He is as cold as a stone and this is so new to me. I am so used to seeing him worshiping me and pampering me all the time. I can't take this anymore. And if I want to leave and work on myself, he would call me a quitter.

I know I ruined a wonderful loving relationship. He used to call me flawless and say I am the most easy going and charming. We used to worship our memories together, but last night he told me I ruined everything for him.

What should I do? About not trusting him? About believing that he is lying? And about him being distant? About hurting him? How should I fix things?

Is there anything I could do if I want this relationship to work again? Should I let him be for now, to clear his head and wait for him to call and come back? Or should I show up and tolerate his cold behavior in hope that he will be back soon?

Congratulations to Wesley Korir, 2012 Boston Marathon Men's Winner

After an amazing race under the hot sun, Wesley Korir is the Men's Elite Winner of the 2012 Boston Marathon, finishing with a time of 2:12:40. Finishing behind Korir was Levy Matebo with a time of 2:13:06 and Bernard Kipyego with a time of 2:13:13. All three top spots are held by Kenyan runners. Korir, a graduate of Louisville, had a surprising come-from-behind victory moving from sixth place into first. No word yet if this win secures Korir a spot on the Kenyan Olympic marathon team, but his chances are looking really well. After the race, Korir had the press room in laughs: when asked his thoughts on the marathon, he lit up saying, "It’s hot out there, in case you didn’t know."

Defending champ and course record-holder Geoffrey Mutai was a favorite to win, but dropped out of the race at the 30K mark due to cramping.

Congratulations to Sharon Cherop, 2012 Boston Marathon Women's Winner

Sharon Cherop of Kenya is the 2012 116th Boston Marathon winner of the Women's Elite Race; Cherop, 28, finished with a time of 2:31:50. Following behind Cherop was Jemima Jelagat Sumgong from Kenya with a time of 2:31:52. Georgina Rono of Kenya finished third with a time of 2:33:09. With 600 meters to go, Cherop broke away while turning onto Bolyston Street in downtown Boston, maintaining her lead to the very end.

Temperatures at today's starting line were in the 80s, making for a conservative start as the women adjusted to the unusual heat. Defending champ Caroline Kilel and 2011 New York City Marathon winner Firehiwot Dado were both favorites to win, but were dropped from the lead pack along the infamous Heartbreak Hill section of the race. After Dado and Kilel fell behind, it remained a tight two-women race until the very end with Cherop and Sumgong separated by a matter of seconds. On what attributed to her win, Sharon said, "I’m so happy because it’s my second time being here in Boston. This time around I was really prepared. Last time the race went so fast and I didn’t know I was about to finish. This time, I spent more time training it. Today we also started slowly, which also helped." Cherop placed third at last year's Boston Marathon, and with this win, may have secured a spot on the Kenyan Olympic marathon team.

Ann Romney's Defense of Stay-at-Home Moms Distracts From Real Issue

In an attempt to attract female voters turned off by his stance on Planned Parenthood, reproductive rights, and women's issues in general, Mitt Romney has been using his wife Ann Romney as his token woman for his campaign. When questioned about gender roles and the war on women, Mitt Romney continues to bring up Ann, recently saying: "My wife has the occasion, as you know, to campaign on her own and also with me, and she reports to me regularly that the issue women care about most is the economy."

But CNN pundit Hilary Rosen took issue with the idea that wealthy stay-at-home mom Ann is being used as an "expert" on working moms and women. On AC360 last night she said, "Guess what? His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing." These comments got Ann so heated up that she actually joined Twitter to defend herself, tweeting: "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work." And now it's a full-blown feud, with Hilary countering with a Huffington Post piece and Ann going on Fox News to talk about how being a stay-at-home mom is a career choice with its own challenges.

The problem that arises from this stay-at-home vs. the working mom debate is that it takes the focus off the real issue that spurred Hilary's controversial comment in the first place. Something she brings up again in her Huffington Post article. She writes, "Is Ann Romney Mitt's touchstone for women who are struggling economically or not? Nothing in Ann Romney's history as we have heard it - hardworking mom she may have been - leads me to believe that Mitt has chosen the right expert to get feedback on this problem he professes to be so concerned about."
