Buzz In: Who's Your Favorite Movie President?

Sometimes movie presidents are so much more fun than real life presidents. With a team of talented screenwriters and directors behind them, they often make the kind of grand, inspirational speeches that can be pretty rare in the real world. And they seem to get away with a lot of stuff, too.

Take Kevin Kline's character in the movie Dave, for example. He isn't even supposed to be president, he's just a doppelganger subbing in, which is totally against all the rules and stuff. But you know what? He has a good heart, and that's what matters in movie presidents.

Of course, things get all meta and mind warpy when you start to think about biopic movie presidents, but they count, too, for these purposes. So, who is your favorite movie president? Do you agree with a recent poll that Harrison Ford in Air Force One is the best? I personally like Jeff Bridges (pictured) as President Jackson Evans in The Contender. He nominates a - gasp! - female vice president and all hell breaks loose.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Add a Peabody Award to Their Trophy Case

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan were among the honorees at yesterday's 71st Peabody Awards in NYC. The pair happily accepted the bronze award on behalf of the groundbreaking documentary they produced, Earth Made of Glass. Backstage during the show, Jenna talked to reporters about the film, saying, "It's nice to be recognized for a project that we feel we're really proud of . . . I think it has a great message, and it's nice just to get that awareness out."

This could be the first of many trophies for Channing this year. In addition to six Teen Choice nominations for his work in The Vow and 21 Jump Street, he's also up for multiple MTV Movie Award nominations including best kiss, best male performance, best fight, and best cast. Channing's hot body is also getting lots of recognition in the latest Magic Mike trailer. His hot dance moves and shirtless scenes are a hit with fans, and he's quickly rising the ranks in this year's PopSugar 100. Channing's a true contender to capture the title, though he's going to have to unseat Robert Pattinson if he wants to win. After a hard fought season, Jermaine Paul has won season two of The Voice. It was a touching moment when Carson Daly called his name, and no one was more emotional than Jermaine, crying as he sang his anthem from last night, "I Believe I Can Fly," as the final performance of the season. So close was the race, in fact, that Carson noted that a mere four percentage points separated Jermaine and the first runner-up, Juliet Simms. Rounding out the finalists was Tony Lucca in third and opera singer Chris Mann in fourth place.

Whoa, is all I can say, America. Not to detract from Jermaine's win, but I'm surprised, and might be resisting the urge to puffy paint a shirt with "Juliet Was Robbed" to wear to work tomorrow. But all in all, they were all great contenders, and it was nice to see all the live finalists on stage (plus Justin Bieber) for the finale. What do you think - are you shocked that Jermaine has taken home the crown or were you rooting for him all along?

How a Determined Desiree Davila Won a Spot on the US Olympic Marathon Team

At last January's Olympic trials in Houston, Texas, four top women had distanced themselves from the field: Desiree Davila, fellow favorites Shalane Flanagan and Kara Goucher, and Amy Hastings. Davila increased her tempo. Hastings dropped back. Davila forged on with Flanagan and Goucher, her five-foot-two, 98-pound frame dwarfed by her taller rivals. Then, with two miles to go, Flanagan kicked into a higher gear, and Davila was faced with another decision: should she try to match the surge and bid for the win, taking the chance that her cramping calves would betray her, or maintain her pace and protect her spot on the team?

Davila weighed the situation and decided not to risk it. Flanagan soloed to the line, and Davila secured her Olympic spot by finishing second, 17 seconds back, in 2:25:55. It was a tough, savvy race, and the latest evidence that Davila's gradual climb to the top is peaking at an ideal juncture.

After a largely anonymous high school and college career in the arid heat of Southern California and Arizona, she migrated to Michigan to join the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project in 2005. The elite training environment in a harsher climate helped her transform herself into "a contender, not just someone who's on the line and might have a good day," as she put it.

The Lesson Learned From Second Place

Davila debuted at the marathon distance in Boston in 2007 and ran 2:44.56 in a raging northeaster. A year later on the same course, Davila thought she had progressed enough to make the Olympic team. At mile 21, running fourth, it looked as if she'd been right. But Davila, who hadn't hydrated and eaten enough before the race, ran out of gas and faded to 13th.

She was devastated. Fellow marathoner and friend Amy Hastings was there to comfort her, and so was sister Natalie Davila. "If I'm investing my money in someone right now, it's you," the older sister said. "You're going in the right direction - you're going up."

Battle of the Cleaners: Bon Ami vs. Vinegar

I just received an all-purpose cleaner, courtesy of the folks of Bon Ami, a firm that prides itself on producing cleaning products with biodegradable cleaning agents and preservatives as well as other natural ingredients such as baking soda and Epsom salts. Basically, the items contain products you've heard of and not some unpronounceable chemical name. Heartened by the nontoxic nature of Bon Ami products, I decided to test it out against vinegar, a versatile and natural substance you can use in many different ways to cleanse your home. Here are the results:

Bon Ami: I used the Bon Ami cleaner to clean some of the cooking dirt off my stove, and one thing I noticed about it was the very pleasant citrus smell. I felt like it worked just as well as any regular chemical cleaner and did a good job of cutting through the grease. I was really happy about the fact that the ingredients were safe and not toxic. The only problem I had with it was some leftover yellow residue. It was a bit of a bother to wipe away. I checked its website, and each item will cost less than $4, although it's apparently cheaper if you buy it in stores.

Vinegar: I'm a huge fan of vinegar as a cleaning product just because of its affordability and versatility. One bottle of 16-ounce Heinz white vinegar will cost you about $1 to $2, and you can even get it for less if you have a coupon. After I put a bit of vinegar on my stove, the crusty stains dissolved a lot more quickly than with the Bon Ami cleaner and required less effort with scrubbing. Of course, there is the vinegar smell, but it eventually dissipates after a while, leaving you with an odorless kitchen.

The clear winner: vinegar, vinegar, all the way! Although I think Bon Ami is a strong contender, vinegar definitely wins this round.
