Interestingly, neither a BFF movie nor a stoner action-comedy could dethrone The Dark Knight in its fourth weekend. Having already surpassed the $400 million mark in domestic ticket sales, the superhero movie pulled in another $26 million over the weekend.
According to Variety, the movie has now taken the place of Shrek 2 to "become the third highest domestic grosser of all time with a cume of $441.5 million.

Though it may not be a cinematic masterpiece, the third Mummy movie is a fairly lighthearted summertime action flick that most of the family can see, and will probably do pretty well at the box office this weekend. But will it be able to break The Dark Knight's reign as No. 1 movie?

Full disclosure: I've never paid too-too much attention to these Mummy movies starring Brendan Fraser, but I know they're meant to be fun action-adventures that we shouldn't take too seriously. For this third installment, I thought it would be a good idea to take my manfriend along with me to see The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Sometimes instead of spending brain power on a review of a movie like this, it's more helpful to just talk it out with someone who's more likely than I am to passingly enjoy this kind of Summer action flick.

If I'm being honest with myself (and you all), this new teaser trailer for The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor made me laugh out loud several times. Now, whether it's supposed to be this funny, I'm not sure, but I just find it so silly I can't help giggling. Thus, maybe this movie will be just a goofy, fun time in the theater — especially with some of the neat effects.
