The lush, other-worldly film The Fall was made long before Lee Pace was coming into American homes on a weekly basis via Pushing Daisies, but I only recently came across the trailer for it and learned that it has a new release date of May 9. Pace plays Roy Walker, a bedridden man who meets a little girl in the hospital. He starts telling her a fantastical tale, which as the description puts it, "reflects his state of mind."

The most central characters of FlashForward take a backseat this week, letting Bryce and Aaron take the spotlight. It's a nice relief from Mark and Demetri's constant agonizing over their own fates (though we still get a dose of that, too).
We learn that Bryce has been keeping a big secret, and Aaron's reunion with his daughter isn't all he had expected it to be.

A few weeks ago I gave you guys a roundup of the fate of Fall's newest shows, but there's been some shake-ups in the industry this week. The first is sad news for Eastwick fans: the show has been canceled and will be gone after its first 13 episodes are aired. Lindsay Price just can't catch a break, can she?

A little Robert Pattinson overload never hurt anyone, but here's a break from all of his vampire stuff — the official trailer for Remember Me! Yesterday we took a peek at the first stills from the film, but here we get a much better taste for Pattinson's chemistry with Emilie de Ravin in the upcoming drama/romance. Pattinson plays Tyler, a broody but romantic college student who falls for the daughter of a cop (de Ravin).

Are you ready for your second Nicholas Sparks movie preview in as many months? (Last month's was the romance Dear John.) Here it is: The Last Song stars Miley Cyrus (cue The Soup's "It's Miley!" sound bite) as a girl who's dropped off at the home of her estranged father to spend the Summer.

The Tuesday night CW block made a particularly strong showing this week. Personally, I thought 90210 had one of its best episodes of the season — nice character development, a few teary moments, and some "oh no she didn't" disses. And as for Melrose Place, I've got two words for you: Heather Locklear.

The trailer for Crazy Heart notes that both stars Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal have been nominated for Oscars, and the solemn, raw tone of the film looks an awful lot like awards show bait for these two big talents. Jeff Bridges stars as Bad Blake, a grizzled, hard-livin', lovin', and drinkin' country singer/songwriter who's known for his amazing music, and Maggie Gyllenhaal plays the journalist he eventually falls for.
We don't see a ton of plot in the trailer, but the story seems like a familiar one, complete with introspection and a soft country anthem that fits the title.

Today is the first day of Fall, but any fan of pop culture knows that's no reason to mourn — the changing leaves mean new movies, a new TV season, and new music! Tons of new albums are slated to be released in the next couple of months, and I've already gone through and picked the ones I'm most excited about, whether they're highly anticipated debuts, lesser-known indie acts, or blockbuster movie soundtracks.
Oh, and if you're still sad about Summer being over, maybe one of my shirtless friends can cheer you up.
