Good news for fans of the comedy troupe Broken Lizard, famous for their cult comedy classic Super Troopers: their latest film, The Slammin' Salmon, which languished on a shelf waiting for a distributor, got picked up by a studio this week for a release in December. And that's not all; there's a new trailer for the film, featuring not just the group's faces, but one very welcome one: How I Met Your Mother's Cobie Smulders! Jim Gaffigan and Will Forte also have parts.

The same guys who brought us the Ice Age franchise are back to create another potential hit with the 3-D CGI Despicable Me. Seems like every animated movie nowadays wrangles A-list names, but the Despicable roster is even starrier than most. Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, Mindy Kaling, Jack McBrayer — it's like a laundry list of my favorite comedy people.

High school shows always face a challenge with their young characters, and its name is graduation. Many make the leap to college, but not every show survives the jump. Gossip Girl is currently wrestling with the transition — and so far, the storylines haven't been able to keep up with those of their high school days.

Michael Kors disappeared from the judges panel on this week's Project Runway, so season two alum Nick Verreos and actress Kerry Washington took his place. The challenge was to craft a companion look for each contestant's best look (not winning look, sadly, because Logan hadn't won a challenge). The winner and loser didn't necessarily surprise me, but the whininess of Althea and Irina irritated me to no end.
