This Friday we'll get a peek at Michael Cera's mustached, naughty alter ego, Francois, in the new release Youth in Revolt. Francois is a rebel, torching buildings and breaking into girls dorm rooms — and yes, naturally, he's French. In honor of his general badass-ness, I decided to round up some of my favorite Francois predecessors in film (warning: lots of greasy hair and leather jackets ahead).

For last Wednesday's Recast challenge, I asked you guys to choose a whole new cast for the John Hughes classic, The Breakfast Club. This was by far the most wildly popular Recast challenge yet, and there were so many good ideas. I particularly loved PinkRabbit's pick for Frankie Muniz to play the geek role originated by Anthony Michael Hall, and I was pleasantly surprised by Honeysugar28 choosing Scarlett Johansson for the Molly Ringwald part.

Afterward, more actors including Macaulay Culkin, Jon Cryer, and Ally Sheedy took the stage to add to the love.

When the Golden Globes nominees were announced, I paid special attention to the Best Song picks since I've had Kate Hudson singing "Cinema Italiano" stuck in my head ever since I saw Nine (check for my review next week).
As you probably already know, I'm a sucker for a solid soundtrack. The right tune can make a pivotal film scene, so when one comes along that's a perfect fit, I'm always associating it with its corresponding flick.

John Hughes, writer and director of many beloved movies, has passed away at the age of 59. He reportedly had a heart attack while taking a morning walk today in Manhattan.
Just hearing Hughes' name makes me feel nostalgic.
