Would You Go See a Brady Bunch Musical?

Seems like there is plenty of odd musical news going around right now, and one of the strangest ideas I've heard is A Very Brady Musical, which will take to the stage in L.A. on June 6.

At first glance this is really unappealing. Upon closer inspection though, it seems like the producers have come up with a clever twist, calling this the Brady Bunch for grown-ups:

Through a misunderstanding, the Brady kids overhear a loud argument between their usually perfectly-in-love parents. The kids think their parents might be heading for a divorce and dig in to raise money to obtain marriage counseling for their woe-stricken parents. Greg operates a car service; Marcia dates for money; Peter and Jan put on magic shows; and Bobby and Cindy look for money in couches. Did you ever imagine what the Bradys might look like in a holding cell at the local police station? Somehow even Alice gets in some legal trouble for fraud.

So, that sounds hilarious, and maybe this will be like Avenue Q for the Bradys. What do you think? Is a Very Brady Musical something you'd pay to see?

Here I was thinking "The Brady Bunch" would be the hardest Recast of all, given the large cast, but once again you all surprised and delighted me with your lists. I especially enjoyed catstarr's mega-celebrity cast list - while Paris Hilton doesn't seem to adopt the, uh, Brady value system there is something intrinsically Marcia-like about her.

I also think legaleagle's pick of John Krasinski as Greg Brady is adorable. And I must say Yoshi Unique's idea of Jackie Chan and Salma Hayek heading up the Brady clan would be perfect for a 21st century "Brady Bunch."

Overall, however, my favorite cast list comes from celebrity_soup! Congrats, celebrity_soup!

Buzz In: What is Your Favorite Old-School TV Show?

TV Land, home to classics like The Brady Bunch, Three's Company, and Bonanza, is branching out into original comedies. The network just announced that they're developing two scripted shows, titled Hot in Cleveland and Retired at 35. But will people actually flip to the channel to check out this new programming?

Personally, the older shows are the only reason I'd tune into TV Land. I used to be obsessed with I Love Lucy as a kid - I even had a Lucy calendar hanging up in my room. Thanks to Nick at Nite, I could watch it on a regular basis, along with Bewitched, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Mary Tyler Moore. (I live for Rhoda!) Now, Nick at Nite plays mainly 90s favorites like Home Improvement and Family Matters, so TV Land has become my vintage channel of choice. Hopefully they won't go the way of MTV with music videos and make the older shows completely obsolete - that would just be sad.

Admittedly, I'm a bit of a dork when it comes to classic TV, but tell me, what is your favorite old-school show?
