I can hardly believe it's time for The Amazing Race to start making its way around the world again! The 14th edition of the show kicks off Feb. 15, and today CBS introduced the 11 teams competing to be the star racers this time around.

I got a kick this week out of a piece Slate did on the doomed reality show contestants who have been voted or kicked off in the first episode, complete with tips on how to avoid their fate. At first I struggled to remember a single first contestant, but then this piece reminded me of Jerry and Nimma from Bravo's Project Runway and Top Chef.
If you are planning on competing on one of these reality shows, these are some pretty good tips for sticking around for more than one episode.

This might seem a little twisted, but my dad and I both love the movie Fargo, and the quirky, dark comedy is one of our staples.

- The Amazing Race is getting a 13th season, Variety says.
- Cary Elwes (a.k.a. Westley in The Princess Bride) has joined the cast of Robert Zemeckis' digital 3-D version of A Christmas Carol, writes ComingSoon.
- Stanley Tucci will join Amy Adams and Meryl Streep in the Julia Child movie Julie and Julia, Variety reports.

Fans of The Amazing Race should give thanks to Viva Laughlin this week. The musical drama's quick cancellation paved the way for the Emmy-winning Race to return earlier than expected, starting with Sunday's premiere. This year's race covers about 30,000 miles and includes stops in Ireland, Lithuania and Croatia.
