Deborah Kerr, the classic film actress best known for romancing Burt Lancaster on a beach in From Here to Eternity, died last week at age 86. To pay tribute to Kerr, two different channels are showing some of her best-known films today.
First up is the Fox Movie Channel, which will air The King and I and The Innocents.

The 36th annual People's Choice Awards nominees are here, and last year's Twilight is leading the charge! American Idol's Kris Allen was among the announcers this morning for the nominees, which also include lots of nods for The Proposal — but of course, everyone's favorite bloodsucking love story landed in many categories, including favorite on-screen movie team.
Why didn't they look to 2009's New Moon?

Let the holiday gift lists keep rolling: Yesterday, I gave you my picks for dad, and today I'm tackling grandma. Sure, she pretty much likes anything you give her, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't put thought into her presents to show your appreciation.
Classic movies, Mary Tyler Moore, and TV game shows always seem like a safe bet, or if yours is like mine and can never find her reruns of King of Queens on the tube, I've thrown in a handy-dandy TV Guide subscription.

Well folks, we've come a long way, but the 64 scary movies we started with have now been narrowed down to two. Chris Rock's first shot at a documentary was spurred on by a simple question his daughter asked: "Daddy, why don't I have good hair?" Good Hair is Rock's quest to find out what that is, and why we — men and women, black and white — care so much.
It's not a race relations angle as much as the trailer makes it seem, but rather an investigation into the phenomenon his two young daughters are growing up into: that straight European hair is what's desirable, beautiful, and worth lots of money and pain to get.

Cover songs typically get a bad rap, but every once and a while a remake of a catchy track comes along that's worthy of its predecessor. (Just take Sinead O'Connor's version of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U," for instance).
Kelly Clarkson did her own renditions of The White Stripes's "Seven Nation Army" and Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" in concert earlier this week, and her samplings weren't half bad.

For last week's Caption It challenge, I picked your brains with this photo of Jennifer Garner, Ricky Gervais, and Rob Lowe in The Invention of Lying.
As usual, there were lots of clever one-liners but it's time to narrow them down!
- "I suppose you're dorky enough looking for my German version of The Office."
- "What do you mean it's not classy to drink Budweiser?
