I love the way a biopic makes me feel — like I'm treated to a back-in-time look at an amazing life. They're epic, and that's why I'm willing to sit through the slow moments (and often for more than two hours) for the payoff. This is the experience I hoped for from Amelia, directed by Mira Nair and starring Hilary Swank as the pioneering aviator who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Both 90210 and Melrose Place felt like they were building up to something big this week. It didn't make for a particularly juicy two-hour block, but I cannot wait to see exactly what happens in the coming episodes as each carefully placed plot point starts to unravel. (You just know Jen's scheming is about to blow up in Naomi's face — and don't even get me started on nut-job Violet!

Has Clive Owen — a man who's best known for playing con artists, spies, and other brooding alpha males — gone soft? It appears so, and he's surprisingly good at it. In The Boys Are Back Owen plays Joe Warr, a recently widowed sports reporter raising two boys in the Australian wilderness.

I'll just say it: Gabba Gabba Hey! Fox Searchlight is in negotiations to produce a biopic about The Ramones, the seminal punk band formed in the '70s and best known for songs like "I Wanna be Sedated," "Blitzkrieg Bop," and "Rockaway Beach."
The movie will be based on the not-yet-published book I Slept With Joey Ramone by Joey's brother Mickey Leigh, and will center around Joey's life and the early days of the band — widely considered to be the first punk rock group.

The editors here at BuzzSugar stand united in our undying love for all things pop culture, but we don't always see eye-to-eye on every topic. After checking out the premiere of The Hills, this morning's water cooler discussion quickly evolved into a debate about whether or not the show can survive with Kristin in Lauren's place.
In corner number one we've got editor B, who is ready to cancel her season pass to the show after last night's episode.

Forsaking the old Monday night time slot, The Hills and The City have both moved to Tuesday nights, beginning with tonight's premieres. A new night is not the only thing that's different about MTV's cornerstone reality shows: over on The Hills, Lauren Conrad is gone, replaced by her old Laguna Beach nemesis/all-around bad girl Kristin Cavallari.
The City has also had a few cast shakeups; buddy Erin and feuding couple Allie and Adam are all out, and new roommate Roxy and Elle PR villainess Erin are in.

This year's lineup of Fall movies has a big hole in it where Shutter Island once was, but fans of Leonardo DiCaprio can rest easy — the man has a whole lotta movies coming our way. His newest project is The Deep Blue Goodbye, which is based on John D. MacDonald's mystery novel series from the '60s.

I knew things had to look up after last week's premiere of Gossip Girl was more fizzle than sizzle. I blame the Hamptons — the beach just doesn't nurture scandal the way the city does. And although everyone was back in NYC, not everyone was on home turf.
