Bidding Has Started for Role in Will Ferrell Movie

Will Ferrell is auctioning off a cameo in his next movie and donating the proceeds to a friend's cancer foundation. Two-time Hodgkin's disease survivor Craig Pollard was a fraternity brother of Ferrell's back in the day, and now Ferrell is helping his buddy raise money for Pollard's organization Cancer for College.

The charity helps send current and former cancer patients to college. Since 1993, it has awarded $200,000 to 50 cancer survivors.

Bidding has already begun on the eBay, starting with $5,000, and it will close September 26. As of now, the current bid is up to $16,000. On September 27, Ferrell will announce the winner who will appear in a scene of his comedy Step Brothers.

Ferrell has especially been encouraging parents to bid and win their children the most exciting early Christmas gift ever. "It is the surefire way to win the parent of the year award," Ferrell said. "Support this amazing cause, by buying them me."

I love this guy. What a cool thing to do, using your popularity and star power to both award some crazy fan as well as raise money for a worthy cause that is close to his heart. Hopefully this will inspire other stars to get creative with their fame and continue to do good deeds.

William and Kate Make a Special Visit to Diana's Dearest Charity

Prince William and Kate Middleton made a special holiday visit to the headquarters of the Centrepoint charity in London this evening. The foundation is one that is quite special to William, as it was the organization most closely associated with the philanthropic works of his mother, Princess Diana. Diana was formerly Centrepoint's patron, an honor that William now holds. Kate is presently determining which foundations she will focus on, and it's been rumored that Centrepoint, which helps young homeless people, is near the top of her list. William and Kate took a cooking class at the center tonight and were snapped cutting shapes out of pastry.

Kate stepped out this evening in a Ralph Lauren sweater dress, but it was her strapless Alexander McQueen gown that turned heads at Monday's Sun Military Awards. Kate and William attended with his brother, Prince Harry, who spoke during the ceremony. Harry shared his excitement to go to Afghanistan for another tour of duty with his fellow servicemen and women.

Prince Harry Takes a Late Night Off From His Royal Duties

Prince Harry enjoyed a holiday evening out on the town yesterday, starting his night by checking out the decorations at London's Winter Wonderland. He was then off for dinner at Jak's before meeting with friends for late drinks, which went until 2 a.m., at Zefi Bar. It was Harry's latest fun outing around town. He and ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy reconnected two weeks ago when they attended the same Christmas event.

He's home in the UK following a stint training with the Royal Air Force in the US. Prince Harry's royal duties will take him overseas again next year as part of his family's tour on behalf of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, which honors her 60 years on the throne. Prince Harry will make stops in Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas, while his older brother, Prince William, will go to Malaysia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu with Kate Middleton. First up, though, William, Kate, and Harry will get to step out closer to home. On Monday the trio is expected at The Sun's Military Awards to honor servicemen and women.

Angelina Jolie changed from her all-white afternoon look into a head-to-toe black L’Agence pant suit for a special Marie Claire screening of In the Land of Blood and Honey and subsequent afterparty at Quality Meats in NYC yesterday. Angelina has had a whirlwind few days in the Big Apple promoting her directorial and screenwriting debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, which hits theaters at the end of the month. Angelina did not have Brad Pitt by her side last night, though he and his parents, Bill and Jane Pitt, did attend her premiere on Monday evening. Angelina's brother, James Haven, also stepped out to support her new project. It's hard to pick Brad and Angelina's best red carpet moment of 2011, and as of next week, we'll have a better idea of how much we'll be seeing them during the 2012 award season. Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations are out on Wednesday and Thursday respectively, with Moneyball expected to be in the mix.

Jason and Amy Double Date With Kermit and Piggy For The Muppets Premiere!

The Muppets shut down Hollywood Boulevard in LA yesterday for the world premiere of their new movie. Kermit the Frog was joined by his whole crew - Gonzo, Rolf, Animal, Fozzy, and newcomer Walter - arriving in a Jeep to kick off the green-carpet processional of stars and puppets. Miss Piggy followed closely behind in her own convertible, wearing Jeremy Scott and Louboutins, and blew kisses to the crowd. We talked to Piggy and Kermit about their return to the big screen, and the pair joked that this film brought them closer together.

We also spoke with some of the human stars including Amy Adams and Jason Segel. Jason said it was a dream come true to work with the Muppets and he plans on inviting all of them, including his puppet brother Walter, over for Thanksgiving dinner so they can reenact the landing on Plymouth Rock. Many of Jason's How I Met Your Mother costars also stepped out to support his latest venture including Alyson Hannigan, Josh Radnor, and Neil Patrick Harris, who has a small role in the film. The Vampire Diaries "Homecoming": The Good, the Bad, and the Bloody

Brace yourself: this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries is the last for the whole year! We won't see any new episodes until 2012, which is even more disappointing considering that this week's midseason finale is utterly epic. The showdown between Klaus and basically everyone else goes down at a homecoming party, and it's a blur of stakes and daggers and twists. Damon and Elena's plan to finally kill Klaus with the help of Mikael doesn't exactly go off as they hoped it would (as plans tend to do on this show).

There is a momentous death toward the end of the episode, plus a sad breakup and of course, since it's a finale, there's also a cliffhanger. But I'm ready to talk about all the dirty details, spoilers and all. To get to the good, the bad, and the bloody, just keep reading.

Jack and Jill: A Comedy That Heads Downhill

We all have that obnoxious relative we dread having to spend time with over the holidays. For ad executive Jack Sadelstein (Adam Sandler) in Jack and Jill, that relative is twin sister Jill (again, Adam Sandler), who visits her brother every Thanksgiving. Jill looks forward to spending time with Jack and his wife Erin (played by Katie Holmes in a sweet but bland role), as well as their two children every year. But Jill is harder to get along with, as she is loud (and she travels with an even louder pet cockatiel), incredibly needy, and she takes the time to point out others' flaws. It's no wonder Jack hates spending time with her, but it begs the question: If he doesn't want to, why should we? The answer, of course, is we shouldn't.

The fact that the film's humor rests on the novelty of seeing Sandler dressed as a woman should serve as a clue to the type of lazy humor you are going to get with this movie. Throwing a wig on Sandler and hearing him speak in a high-pitched voice isn't that funny, and neither are a lot of the jokes. A pregnant Keri Russell stepped out of her Brooklyn home this morning to pick up Honey Nut Cheerios at a local deli. She's about six months along with her second child with husband Shane Deary, and soon their oldest, River, will become a big brother! The cereal may have been for Keri, her husband, or their son, but she has revealed in the past that her favorite craving lately has been for whoopie pie cookies. Keri's baby bump hasn't slowed her down from enjoying NYC. She and her husband were seen last month showing PDA while watching the US Open in Queens. Keri's also lined up another role, besides mother of two. She will star in Austenland, a film produced by Twilight's Stephenie Meyers about a Jane Austen fan who tries to find the perfect gentleman for herself.
