For last week's Recast challenge, I had BuzzSugar readers pursue a perfect new cast for the irresistible Southern chick-flick, Steel Magnolias. In my opinion, this was one of the toughest Recasts to date, so I was astounded by how many great submissions came in.

I loved RCLdesigngirl's choice of Amy Adams to play Shelby, and her casting of Meryl Streep as Clairee was echoed by several other users, including Erinnoelle and lslybnks. But the best overall Recast came from Pinkrabbit, who really nailed every role, particularly Stockard Channing as M'Lynn. Congrats, Pinkrabbit! Here are her picks.

I'll be the first to admit that this movie was very well cast the first time around - with the exception, in my opinion, of Julia Roberts. But it's been almost 20 years since Steel Magnolias came out, so who could fill these great female roles today? Snacking Good: Natchitoches Meat Pies

We've always wanted to take a stab at rolling out a few Natchitoches meat pies. Thanks to an easy recipe from Food Orleans, this might be a dream realized sooner rather than later.

Natchitoches meat pies are one of those special little treats with a name as fun to say as they are to scarf down. Nackadish - that's how you say it - is a small town we drive through on our way north to visit Alexandria or Oklahoma, and it's where Steel Magnolias was filmed, and it's famous for these little pies. It's a beautiful little place, with a picturesque riverfront lined with shops and restaurants that have their own sort of French Quarter-ish wrought iron balconies (remember the Easter scene where Jackson slapped Ouiser? That's the riverfront!). But you don't have to go into the actual town to get yourself some meat pies; just stop at any gas station right off I-10. They all fry them up and they're all pretty wonderful.

Does Jenny Sanford's Book Intrigue You?

Television dramas like The Good Wife show how a slighted woman might react if her husband were caught cheating on her, but there will be no hypothesizing how Jenny Sanford felt when her man's affair was revealed to the entire world just months ago. Many wondered if the South Carolinian mother of four would stand by her man or take the next ticket out of town, and it appears she has done the latter. According to reports, the steel magnolia filed for divorce and is telling all in her memoir, Staying True ($17). In it, the First Lady of South Carolina will apparently dish all and leave little to the imagination. The synopsis of the book reads:

In this candid and compelling memoir, the first lady of South Carolina reveals the private ordeal behind her very public betrayal-and offers inspiration for anyone struggling to keep faith during life’s most trying times.
