What's Buzzworthy: Movies to Watch in the Summer

Last weekend I asked you guys to Buzzworthy the movies you love to watch this time of year because they give you that warm summertime feeling. I mentioned Summer School, Dirty Dancing, and National Lampoon's Vacation, giving examples of a teen beachy movie, a sweaty summer-of-love movie, and a hilarious movie about a family vacation gone awry. You all reminded me of other great titles I'd completely forgotten about, but now I'm updating my Netflix queue to make it a little more June-appropriate. Here are some of my favorite Buzzworthied summertime flicks:

Ah, the summertime classic! As gruaig_rua reminds us, "You'll never go in the water again."

Wet Hot American Summer I can't believe I neglected to mention this one originally since, being the lovechild of some of my favorite actors/comedians in the world (Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, members of "The State"), it's one of my all-time favorite films. About her pick, WhiplashGirlchild explains, "Wet Hot is quite possibly my favorite comedy of all time. It's based on the camp movies of the 70's and 80's and is absolutely hilarious."

"My Fiancé's Bachelor Party Is Going to Be at a Strip Club"

My fiancé and I have been together for two years, and we are getting married in July! We've been talking about bachelor parties for him and his friends really want to take him to a strip club. At first, we agreed that I would go with him since it makes me uncomfortable. I really do not want him to go, so I thought it would be a good idea for all of us to go together. He was OK with this for a day or two, until he brought it up to his friends. They immediately told him to stand up for himself, and now he says he's doesn't want me to come.

I tried to ask him if we could come to some sort of compromise - as in him getting one dance or none at all. I'm totally against him going, but I honestly trust him 100 percent. However, I know that it's the girls' job to shake their goodies in front of my fiancé and give him lap dances . . . I feel like the only girl's butt that should be on him is mine. I asked him to please just stick with one dance, but he said that he didn't know how many his friends would buy him. I have tried repeatedly to get past this, but I just can't seem to!

11 Rules to Dramatically Increase Your Productivity

There's a problem with a lot of productivity advice out there, and it's this - your "rules" for personal productivity are often going to be different than mine. Sure, sometimes there's overlap. Sure, you can always learn from others.

But if you want to see a dramatic increase in your productivity, spend less time reading and memorizing other people's rules, and more time figuring out what your own rules are. You'll be more productive and in a way that works with who you are.

So I'm sharing a few of my personal productivity rules. Maybe some of them will work for you or inspire you to think of your own.

1. Small Daily Movements Become Big Accomplishments

I tend to think that I must have big blocks of time in order to get any forward movement. So I hesitate and procrastinate, waiting for that "open time" when I can really push and get a lot done on whatever the current project is.

Turns out, that's a waste of time. Small daily movements add up. It's just that the movements or steps themselves are so small, I think they don't count. They do.

I have to constantly remind myself that I don't need a whole day or a whole week to devote to some project. I just need to take the 10 or 20 minutes I have here and there and use them. I need to achieve a little bit of forward movement every day. That adds up, and it builds momentum, and pretty soon there's been quite a lot accomplished.

Buying a yoga mat is like buying a new pair of running sneakers. It takes careful consideration and research to find the right fit. Since there are hundreds to ~~confuse you~~ choose from, narrow down your search by asking these important questions.

How Much Do I Want to Spend?
Your budget is a huge factor in the mat you end up with. Do you have the dough to lay down for the priciest one on the market or are you happy buying a cheaper mat? The upside of buying a more expensive mat, like the Manduka PRO Black Magic ($104), is durability, which will actually save you money over time.

How Thick Do I Want It?
If you're new to the mat-buying scene, you might not realize that mats come in different thicknesses. A quarter-inch is the standard mat thickness, probably like the one you've borrowed from your studio. Think about how your body feels on this mat in certain poses where your bones are pressing into the floor. If you've felt discomfort, splurge on a thicker mat, but make sure it's also dense. A thick squishy mat makes balancing postures more difficult.

If you're anything like me, Zumba has always held a certain allure, but the very idea of dancing in front of a roomful of people sounds about as appealing as doing my taxes or making a spur-of-the-moment appointment at the DMV. I'm not just painfully shy about busting a move but hopelessly uncoordinated in the booty-shaking department.

So after years of avoiding Zumba for fear of embarrassing myself, I decided it was time to stop being a wallflower and start working up a sweat. "I used to be a very shy person but I have learned that everything in life is about attitude," says Gisella Ferreira, a Zumba instructor at the Brasil Brasil Cultural Center in Los Angeles. "Having a positive attitude makes all the difference, so go with an open mind and let yourself enjoy the party!"

As for doing the actual dance steps, Ferreira is quick to point out that literally anybody can follow along with a little practice. "I see new Zumba students every day that have never danced in their lives and are able to dance through the whole class," she says. "Zumba is a world dance fitness party. It's easy to do, effective, and totally exhilarating." If that's not enough motivation, Ferreira says Zumba burns between 500 and 800 calories per class and targets "glutes, thighs, calves, abdominals, core, pectorals, biceps, and triceps."

Did Breastfeeding Really Help You Lose the Weight?

Breastfeeding makes the pregnancy pounds melt off. That statement, and other's like it, are reason enough for many mamas to put their babies to their breasts. Celebs such as Naomi Watts and Angelina Jolie have credited their baby's feeding schedules with their own rapid weight loss, so many of us bought the claim hook, line, and sinker - including Jenna Fischer.

While walking the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Jenna Fischer talked about her struggle to lose the baby weight, saying:

Let me please stand in solidarity with all of the women who are not a size 2 six weeks after leaving the hospital. I thought, you read all of the stuff in magazines like, "Oh, I breastfed my baby and I am so skinny now." I am breastfeeding my baby and I am not getting any skinnier! I think I'm just going to be a little bit bigger for a little bit longer, and that's fine with me.

Jenna, whose son Weston Lee is four months old, joins Salma Hayek - who told Oprah that nursing did nothing to help her lose the weight - and countless others, including myself, who actually found the opposite to be true.
